Chapter 19
The next morning I brought out my big guns as I marched over to Victor Division. I walked right up to Victor and I spoke confidently.
"I can't fight with Ayden because I'm too pretty to be damaged no one will ever buy me if I'm damaged!" I say loudly, ignoring the stares. Originally I meant to say buy my hand but thinking back that doesn't even sound right.
Victor didn't make a move and just stared at me. "Oh crap you're serious," he says and then he starts laughing.
I glare at him. "I can't fight against Ayden."
At that he stops. " Too bad you're going in that match even if I have to tie you up and just throw you in there."
"Why?" I whine so close to stomping my feet but he makes that "don't why me face" that Mike always does so I calm down.
He replies with the parent ultimatum that just pisses off everyone. "Because I said so."

"Because I said so. Because I said so," I mutter mockingly as I punch at the punching bag.
"Okay Duck you repeat that one more time and I'm cutting open that heavy bag and stuffing you in there," Drake says pressing his gloved fist against his ears.
"Sorry I won't do it again," I say turning back to start punching.
"Wait," Drake says grabbing my arms. He lifts my arms and mimics the punches to a higher spot of the punching bag.
"Swing higher you're already at a disadvantage and don't focus too hard on the bag you need to get in the habit of being aware," He teaches.
I try to understand what that means. Must be one of those easier said than done things because with a punching bag it's all I see.
"Stop!" Drake suddenly calls out as he moves his feet in front of mine. I tripped over it and fell on the ground.
"What the hell!" I say breathing heavily.
"You're throwing yourself with your punches don't do that otherwise you lose your balance get up, try again," Drake says.
I huff out and struggle to get up. I'd been training for two weeks now and haven't been able to talk Victor out of it. Drake decided to spend more time training me for this, he's stopped working out with me and has actually been a pretty good trainer. Of course I won't tell him that.
I lift up my arms and alternate between jabs and hooks at the punching bag. Left, right, right, lef- Drake tripes me as I move forward to punch again.
"Jackass!" I say shooting upward.
"You're too dependent on the bag, keep your punches strong, punch don't push," Drake says circling me.
We did this a few more times and he kept shouting the things wrong with me and for me to correct them. After failing miserably Drake thought it'd be good for me to practice my kicks. Now this was the worse part of our training because Drake didn't even have to touch me for me to trip.
So we went back to day one where Drake made me stretch as if I had no bones. Finally when our entire session was over we splitted ways to go to lunch.
"Ground your feet, move faster, no stops, don't get lazy, slow your breathing, calm down, pivot, keep your posture ,take your fingers out my mouth," I say mimicking Drake in our training lesson as I sit down.
At that last one Mary stared at me. I laugh at her look and stretch before I start eating my hamburger.
"Uh sounds like everything's going good," she says unsure.
I groan in annoyance. "Who knew kickboxing was so hard? I should have told him to train me in something else it's just kickboxers look so cool," I say pouting.
Drake advised me against practicing kickboxing but then again he told me just to give up and not try anything.
"Don't worry you'll get the hang of it. Besides Drake is one of the best fighters you're lucky," Luke who was sitting squashed against Mary says.
"Yeah well I don't feel lucky," I say and as if to prove my point Drake elbows my back hard and I drop my burger on to the table.
"Five, four, three-" Drake counts as I pick up my burger.
"Safe!" He says sitting down beside me.
Luke and him do that whole little macho man handshake while Mary plain out ignores him.
"Hey babe don't look so sad I'm here now," Drake says, smiling to Mary.
Mary rolls her eyes. "Why are you sitting here?" She asks not bothering to hide the fact that she wanted him to leave.
"Hiding from this crazy chick," he says looking over me. He then makes eye contact with me and smiles. For a minute I forgot he was the devil. "And I've run into another one,"he says holding my eyes.
I groan and stand up. "I'm going home early I don't want to stick around so long in case I need to have an exorcist from being around evil this long."
~~
By now I've realized Drake is a jerk. It shouldn't have surprised me though because just looking at him I can just sense the douchebag in him. He had a cocky smile, as if he knew he was hot. His perfect face and muscular frame and good cologne. His strangely dark eyelashes and grey blue stormy eyes.
Oh for god sakes I can't believe someone like him exist.
The phone started ringing and I absentmindedly got off the couch and answered it.You see I'm not really allowed to answer the phone, not if Mike wasn't't home. Let's just say as a child I wanted to invite people over for a food fight. No specific reason besides that I just wanted too.
"Yellow don't bellow into the phone," I say.
"Chaya? Hey darling how are you?"
"Aunt Nina! Finally you call I began to think that you forgot about me. Psssh not possible but hey I can lie," I say playfully into the phone.
My Aunt Nina took care of Mike and I since I was ten because our mom works abroad. We moved out from our Aunt's house four years ago when Mike turned 18 because he got an internship and he brought me to live with him.
"Yeah it's been weeks I'm sorry I couldn't call you back, but is your brother home?"
I pouted a little at the fact that she didn't want to ask more about me, but I normally talk her ear off so I can understand why. "He got another job and he's working late," I say.
"Well tell him that that friend of mine over at CS University said if he enrolls now he could get accepted for an on campus room, we've pulled some string to get him a slot but he needs to apply by the end of the month," she says and I sit down as I hear it.
Now that I think about it Mike wanted to major in Sales but he never went to college did he? Well why didn't he tell me that he was going to enroll?Or that he was even interested in this college?
"Okay bye," I say a little entranced as I hung up. I stared at the wall, confused. Wait... did she say CS University? Isn't that two states away from here?
There was no way he wasn't going to go to college, no way I wasn't going to make him. But I really didn't want to move. I'd have to live with my Aunt and while I do love her I hate her stepkids.
"Oh no," I whisper putting my head down on the table.
Life is never easy.
