Chapter 30

"Chaya! Open up please I need to talk to you," Mary's voice yelled from the other side of the door.

I groan in annoyance and crack my eyes open only for it to be assaulted by the ray of sunlight coming through my open window.

"Make her go away," Drake mumbles half asleep in annoyance.

"You make her," I complain resting my head back on his naked warm chest. My eyes shot open as my cheek made contact with the hard muscle.

"What the hell," I say trying to get off the bed but Drake's burly arm is pinning me to his side.

"Got to sleep Duck," he says crushing me to him as he turns us so he's spooning me.

My face was burning and I suddenly felt like I was about to faint. I'm acting like I've never been with the opposite gender... well I have never had a boyfriend or boys who are friends... I sneak a peek back to Drake's strong features.

He was really gorgeous. His eyelashes were dark and long I wanted to bite them. His eyes open to reveal the smoky blue and his lips curled into a smile. Through his eyes I could see my own amazement as I looked at him, and it annoyed me.

"Chaya I'm stepping in I hope your decent," Mary says as she turns the knob slowly opening it.

Drake went into action as he jumped out the bed. I covered my own eyes as Drake grabbed his pants from the floor and got in them in less than 5 seconds. I take it he does this alot. Not that we did something.

She walked into the small hall and Drake hid behind the wall sliding into his gray t-shirt.

"No I-I'm not," I say watching him in horror and confusement. Can't he just say he got here earlier? Drake nodded for me to go to her and confused I do.

"Wha- Mary are you okay?" I say when I take in her horrible appearance. Her make up had slide down her cheeks, her eyes were puffy, her nose was even red. She had obviously been crying.

"T-that bitch got me kicked out the council, I've been there for three f-fucking years," Mary began to sob again and went to sit on the bed.

I purposely looked like I misunderstood and intervened, grabbing her in a hug. She stopped for a second, stiff like and then wrapped her arms around me, lowering her head onto my shoulder.

"You have to help me," she cries and without her surprisingly noticing I turn us around.

With her back to Drake he looks around the corner. For a second his eyes softened as he saw Mary crying in my arms. He gave me a warm smile as he saw my panic.

"What do you want from me?" I ask softly, still looking toward Drake.

She pulled away from me and before I can stop her. I came across the corner and saw the room empty. Well almost, Drake's jacket was still sticking out of the small closet doors before he pulled it in.

Mary wasn't looking as she started to wipe her eyes, she sat down on the bed. I stayed standing. I grabbed the tissues from the drawer in my nightstand and handed them to her. After a while of silence I felt it was a good time to speak.

"So what bitch kicked you out the council."

Mary sniffled again and glared at the air. "Tawnie blackmailed me... I don't know anyone else who would listen to me. If she thinks I'm going to let her take my place she's dead wrong."

"I hate to sound mean but what does this have to do with me?" I ask trying my best not to offend her.

"Victor likes you, I mean he bended the rules to let you in because you've got spunk, so I want you to take the position before she gets it," Mary explained looking up at me in desperation.
