To be honest, the more I looked at him and I was in his presence, the more I realised how dangerous he was. Why did someone like Emma fall for him? Why did Trina not egg this guy on? Do all transmigrants only get bits of information and why did I get information from Trina?
It's been a while, but I don't know if I'd call her a female lead.
Harvey was still there in front of me whilst my thoughts were working hard to make me think. His eyes had become stranger though, as I looked at him my eyes were slightly clouded and unclear. That might be the reason why.
As I closed my eyes for a bit and breathed in, I opened them to find Harvey.
Clearly I was working too hard at this point. This boy was my Oasis and I was thirsty in this dry ass novel. I wouldn't even be surprised if someone named Sahara created this world. We have characters named after brands, why wouldn't we? Also Sahara doesn't sound like a bad name...
Was Sahara a god's name too? Probably. Right? Although, maybe the sound Rah was more familiar near those parts in relation to God's. I guess I've always just been bad at geography- I mean mytho- I mean both!
Without meaning to say anything I muttered, more coherently than any other mutter that I had muttered. This mutter might have been heard by Harvey's grandkids that haven't become tadpoles yet- if you catch my drift. This was also a mutter that everyone on my stream and Harvey's heard. Unfortunately or fortunately it was also heard by Felix's stream, particularly those that saw me as some devilish slut, but they seemed to like me after seeing me being dumbstruck by Harvey... I guess?
Back to the topic of Harvey, ahem.
If you guessed from my long explanation on the complexities of just barely knowing the guy, you'd probably have guessed he had a lot of people watching him.
Although not as much as Felixe, he was a man you'd be able to comfortably snack to even if your sexuality was aimed towards food. Felixe however, is someone that made you see it illogical that he had to be clothed.
Nonetheless my words questioned things, incessantly trying to gain something close to consciousness for myself.
"Are you some kind of human aphrodisiac?"
My face must look so stupid now.
Harvey just smirked at my question for a brief moment and then went back to a friendly smile... He didn't answer me at all.
Is he pretending he didn't hear me?
I complimented him. Do people ignore what you're saying when you compliment them? He also smirked. I saw it!
This man called people out just by existing in front of them. Why isn't he verbally calling me out?
I'm sure Harvey was someone who had compilations posted on websites from his fans. It was odd, but it was something Trina had noticed in the journey of becoming a superstar. Although I still don't understand why that is. She lived in a world with abilities and skills. She was also one of those with abilities and skills. Her physical memory skill was a dream skill of many people though. You could exercise a couple of times and remember your body's outer and inner physical status. You'll become healthy and gain an ideal body you didn't have to maintain. However, food still seemed to be something these ability users needed to look after.
Yup. It's annoying.
Sometimes I wondered if she'd find me to get an ability from me, even if the ability I give her might change I could still see her trying to drain me of my blood.
It made me sigh.
Harvey seemed to have heard the sigh, but didn't do or say anything about it.
I also turned around.
After that Harvey hardly said anything, but he proceeded to help me practise the choreography I produced for the week whilst using the room to practise his own too.
It was quickly becoming the norm to find or join each other when we found a practice room. We exchanged phone numbers and both silently decided to share the details that were needed from time to time. Although, Harvey only comes two or so hours per day to practise with me sometimes. He was popular after all. It was a miracle that no one had come bursting into our practice time.
But even so. I just strengthened my guard around him and blushed or looked sad when moving awkwardly around at times. He looked happy whenever I showed that side of me. He was annoying, but we were comfortable since he was attentive to me in a strangely observant way. I knew I could be around him without him assuming what he liked about my actions. He'd know I'd never try to be malicious intentionally. I could also tell that he knew I'd make it obvious if I did plan to be malicious. I suppose that was the advantage of having that one friend who was obvious or stupid.
I suppose it's like my previous life where I told my friends I'm sad and don't know what to do with life anymore. You know, when you'd say you're feeling a bit down, feeling like saying you're depressed is like you're seeking attention. Yeah, well after saying that my friends would always draw attention to how I must be thinking I'm better than them or something else. I don't know. Maybe my emotions were just seen as excuses that they thought I learned from them in order to reject people. I mean they had done it a number of times to me and I'd always find out where they went from classmates the next or the same day. The age of social media has its ups like that I suppose.
Anyways! New life, no friends!
The week went by with dungeons, dream learning about dungeons, practice and the competition. This week happened to be the week we'd lip sync along to a song we developed original choreography for. It was supposed to help us pay attention to our facial features and movements.
The week finished with no end of week victory being celebrated. I passed the week without being kicked out of the show by the scruff of my neck. It was a week where the moderator stopped deciding on who'd win or be kicked out and focused on making sure no one was cheating via votes. Those that voted included the public watching and the judges who were still masked, but could offer immunity for 10 contestants each after the public finished voting. In other words a total of 200 hundred contestants were granted immunity and could kick off the previously safe contestants at the bottom of the week's scoreboard.
The contestant numbers were still within the thousands meaning I still couldn't even dream of sitting around and watching them whilst attracting the attention of viewers. The next month began with 2593 contestants oddly enough. I suppose these initial months were still testing the grit of contestants rather than their talent, as no minimum or maximum number of contestants to be kicked off the show had been calculated. Most contestants had to simultaneously cope with learning and the show, alongside other things. So there were many who suffered from a drop in performance or dropped out, because they couldn't cope with everything.
Speaking about time, I hadn't seen Felixe for the week, but he didn't say he was a judge. So it would make sense if he went home after hosting a few victory events.
