Every passing hour felt like the outside world that was watching me was getting further away. Not seconds or minutes into going through the warehouse, but every hour.
It would have been nice if there was some more information on the warehouse, but there was hardly any. The warehouse's about section of information contained a warning and entering meant you'd need to sign a contract for the show not being held liable for your death. At least that was how it was supposed to be.
Yet, I failed to see a contract let alone sign one. Here. After I asked, this place opened up to me. Who knows what reason was behind it all, but I settled on cleaning up. It could just be that someone jokingly added it in. I wouldn't know, because of the lack of people that choose to enter.
Three hours in and the entrance in front of the warehouse by the door was cleared and organised properly. I even fixed some of the things here to the best of my abilities. Of course, every step of the way I used my active touch. Consequently, I could see ten seconds of questionable activity occurring in the warehouse seeing the times whenever no person was here. But I didn't want to make the things here know that I know of them.
Funnily enough I didn't find an accident that endangered anyone's lives yet through the memories of the various furniture and items. Which I could have probably guessed from the lack of people entering here. I didn't know whether that was the scary part or the things that I couldn't quite capture in the ten seconds of memories.
I looked down each corridor created by industrial sized shelves that fit large items and even had some shelves placed on them.
Something in those ten second memories told me that I shouldn't walk into the corridors too deeply. So I decided to tidy up the fronts of the shelves and corridors. Hence I stepped further in, but only just slightly. Sly enough to be able to escape to a safe distance if something happened. However, knowing myself I wanted to walk in just enough to sneak a kill on one of the creatures here. Afterall, I needed to use my now G rank past memory ability well, it had already given me various warnings.
Other than that I still couldn't feel the physical memory ability. I wonder if something was wrong with it or if I just needed to do more things. More exercise types and amounts should help. But I worry that I might not be able to get it so easily even if I continue on for a year.
Luckily I might be able to come to this warehouse to train at least one of my new abilities. Even though the warehouse was in the campus, it still contained too many dungeon related items to make sense for it to just be the show's warehouse. A part of me wondered if this came up in Trina's two year training, but I don't know if she really went to dungeon service or just another world. It sounded like she'd gone to a specific world and was stuck in the human zone. I can't be too sure. All I know is that I was getting increasingly annoyed at her uselessness.
The second object I touched was some kind of prop model, but when I touched it a memory of something crawling inside came up. I smiled and worriedly injected energy like I did before to fix items. This time I was aiming to search and kill the thing inside it. I swift investigation and killing by weaponizing energy. Although I wasn't sure at what time the thing entered it or if it was still there. Nonetheless the memory was helpful, because it alerted me that I may be able to kill something discreetly.
A pop sounded and I followed it up with the best confused noise I could muster up at the moment. The thing that popped didn't drop anything, because I caught whatever it dropped. It was strange, but seemed safe enough. I felt a need to carefully process the item, but placed it into one of my empty dungeons I use for storage, because nothing inside it will cause too much trouble or any trouble at all to the mysterious drop. The influence from strange objects that I don't know about could safely be isolated inside these dungeons without influencing them or the objects you placed within them.
I did it quickly and continued on my quest.
Every time my past memory skill activated I'd step back and prepare to move to the next shelves fronts that were close to the entrance of the warehouse like planned. All done as naturally as possible. I didn't even need to worry about the next time that I came here, because everything I cleaned now has a box over its section once I passed through it to the place I stopped at.
If the sections I cleaned were re-inhabited and messed with, I'll need to come back the next day to clean it. The corridors were faster in cleaning their fronts than the entire front of the warehouse. But I still took five hours before I left the warehouse sweating from the amount of exercise the whole thing took me. I also expanded quite a bit of my own energy. In addition my mental concentration spent on keeping a safe reserve of energy and being ready for anything was also quite tiring.
By the time I exited the warehouse almost every person who followed me had gone back to their own lives. A few were still waiting. Not that I cared. I still had enough energy left in me to beat some of them and run to safety.
So I went back to my dorm room in the villa.
