I just needed shelter right now. Everything else didn't matter. Some sense of strength or safety must be gained. So a dungeon that Emma went around in would be great.
Although I didn't know where I was, I knew that I could find the dungeon. The experiences I had been rewarded seem to allow me to use my abilities, although they don't affect Emma's life at all. In a sense I could differentiate myself, because I had different abilities to Emma regardless of experiencing the same pain as her.
I used my ability to sense the same energy I felt for that dungeon. The dungeon where Emma healed the most due to eating the medicinal plants out of starvation. It was a dungeon with a specific energy that lured me in. The energy was similar to my own underlying eye colour, or at the very least the energy took on a purple hue. A familiar medicinal smell was carried over by this purple energy hue. It sounded sinister in the energy flow, but gave off an inviting warmth. Thinking so, I blindly followed the same energy that I sensed twice before.
...
My knees were scraping on the concrete ground for a while now. I remember that the dungeon had an invisible entrance that was hard to find and was accidently stumbled upon by Emma when she was made to run errands for some elves in her class at the age of 9. It was near a corner shop where I too found the dungeon.
Curious as I may be to how anyone couldn't notice the dungeon, I was too thankful for my abilities to start thinking such thoughts. The dungeons in this world were different from most dungeons our world imagined. There was no portal, in fact if a person didn't have any abilities they probably wouldn't sense any energy and cross into a dungeon unaware that they would die with their next step.
This dungeon was also special. Like the mutated goblin I met, this dungeon was mutated. Mutated in that it wasn't capable of releasing monsters into the world and that as Emma learned, the dungeon was fairly harmless to her. It also didn't let anyone other than her in when she did allow others to come in. She was the first one to discover it, so she gained partial ownership of the dungeon. It was a very hard thing to do, at least that's what the others said. The others were the adults that wanted to use her. She eventually lied and said she could no longer get into the dungeon when she gained partial ownership.
It was something that the Web novel didn't draw any attention to and focused on Trina stealing and taking ownership of other dungeons. Naturally, even the partial ownership wasn't given to her in the end, because she lacked a lot compared to the people she thought she could easily screw over from the original novel she read. I mean, she did screw them over, but she was only able to gain some rewards from the dungeons. She always got less than those that she was hoping to torment though. It was something she'd bring up every now and then when she gains a sub ability without an energy class to categorise it, but with a minor skill being added.
I did think about going to those dungeons later, but I didn't want to take the credit for the work of other people to gain partial ownership of the dungeons like Trina did. Instead I plan to later try to complete the dungeons in my own way.
As I was thinking, I already arrived at the edge of the dungeon entrance. I looked to my right to see a corner shop and back to the portal in a parking lot that seemed to be falling apart. My eyes flickered over every corner of the parking lot that had upturned sections of concrete, but was otherwise empty. I then crawled into the dungeon with my now full nappy being thrown into the bin- by the way the bin exploded, I did a real number huh.
The world seemed to ripple past me until I arrived confronted with a meadow full of medicinal herbs with a mini wood area around it and a small hill where the cave the boss monster lives in is. My knees became happy as they grazed the soft soil of the medicinal meadow. It looks a lot bigger in my 2 year old eyes than it did to Emma. But I knew that was due to age.
