Alone to him.

The night breeze was far from brittle. It was hard and sharp, tousling my white hair. I pulled the hoodie over my head before I gave one last look at the lonely trees that looked back at me. The guards on duty failed to notice me as I became one with the wind, something Aoife had taught me.

When I had crossed the pack barrier successfully, where I was far from sight, I materialised into myself.

I felt weak and tired, maybe due to the fact that I was now faraway from Roux. Travelling the night was the perfect idea that had hit me, where everyone would be asleep and I'll just have to sneak out quietly.

There was no place in the letter than said that I was meant to come alone but it would be for the best outcome, leaving them all out of it.

It was really late, maybe eleven or twelve o'clock. The night was quiet, my best assumption was that all the crickets were too tired and had gone to rest.

My plan was really simple. Distract him, whoever he was, get Anna and run away but things were easier said than done. He had left a map together with the letter, one that was hard and tricky to follow.

I kept to my pace, running in between walks. I would have boarded a cab but I thought otherwise. Why would I want something that is so slow when I have well capable legs.

The street was one that looked deserted and the further I walked, the lesser the houses. I walked down the lonely woods covered by trees, the place dark and smelly. They smelt of herbs, aconite, one that was known to weaken a Lycan but not enough to kill it as a Lycan can only be killed by severing the spine from the body which is almost impossible as they are very strong. My mother was killed by aconite, one where she was first weakened by it before her spine was separated. Her death is still a mystery as only another Lycan is known to match up the strength of a Lycan even in a weakened state.

I knew mother had fought hard for her life as the evidence of struggle was very visible.

I took a deep breath and it stayed that way for a while before I finally exhaled. My body was growing weak by the second but that wasn't enough to keep me from walking.

I looked at the map one more time and just then, I heard it. The piercing sound that was unmistakably that of a gun. Footsteps followed and then the scent, but it wasn't of a rogue but human. Her hair, the darker shade of red. I could smell how scared she was and she continued to fire but all of her bullets failed to reach me.

"Who are you?" She asked, a little bit hesitant before she lowered her gun.

"Ralia," I answered simply, wondering who she was and what she was doing in the woods in the middle of the night.

She was dressed in black tight jeans and ash blouse.

"Follow me!" she commanded and I did just that. This place was where the map had ended and my guess was that she worked for him but for what reason.

The moment I entered the building that was very weird looking, my demeanor changed. The person who I saw was far from the person I had known. Her body, they were covered in bruises that weren't healing fast like they were meant to. Her clothes, stained with blood, part tattered. Her eyes were red, the colour in her face gone.

I ran closer to where she was, my hands now on her face.

"Anna!" I called.

"Anna, it's Ralia. Please wake up," The moment I said those words, she flickered her eye lashes, waking up from the daze she was in. First came terror like she's seen a ghost. She wanted to warn me, maybe for me to run faraway but that was too late.
