Chapter 5

It's been 2 days since classes started. Until now, Raven is still avoiding me. Our friends already noticed that we are not talking to each other and they keep bombarding me with questions. Questions that I can't answer.

I can't just tell them that Raven is mad at me because I killed a bunch of bastards. It's been a week since she stopped talking to me and it's eating me up. Really, I would rather hear her annoying voice. Hindi ako sanay na hindi niya ako pinapansin.

I'm here at the student lounge with Quinn. My classes just ended, and Quinn's final class will start in 10 minutes. Nakiusap siya sa akin na samahan muna siya at pumayag ako. Wala din naman akong gagawin sa bahay. Sa mga oras na ito ay si Raven palang ang nandoon dahil kanina pa tapos ang klase niya.

"Z, you should make up with R. It's so awkward when the five of us are together."

Nagulat ako nang bigla akong kinausap ni Quinn. Akala ko ay masyado siyang abala sa kanyang binabasa.

It's a newly released book about vampires and werewolves. Ipinagmalaki pa niya kanina na may pirma ng sumulat ang libro niya. Ever since we watched that vampire movie last week, she became obsessed with supernatural creatures. Even the ones that don't exist.

"I'm giving her space, Q. I did something terrible and I think she's still not ready to forgive me." halos pabulong na sabi ko.

Well, I don't know that because I never tried to approach her again since that day. I just assumed because she can't even look at me when we're at the same place.

"We both know her. She can't stay mad for a long time. I think she's just waiting for you to make a move." seryosong sabi niya.

Maybe.

But the truth is, I am so ashamed to face her. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang sasabihin ko sa kanya kung sakaling nagkaharap kami. Pero tama si Quinn. Siguro nga ay panahon na para makipag ayos ako. Mas mabuti nang harapin ko ito kaysa maipon ang bigat na nararamdaman ko ngayon.

"I'll try when I get home." saad ko at ngumiti sa kanya.

Ngumiti siya pabalik. "My class is about to start." iniabot niya sa akin ang librong binabasa niya kanina. "Take this home for me, please?"

"Sure. You need to go." wika ko nang makita kong tatlong minuto nalang ay magsisimula na ang klase niya.

Tumayo siya at mabilis na humalik sa aking pisngi. "See you later, Z."

I waved her good bye and she did the same. Nang makalayo na siya ay nanatili pa rin ako sa aking inuupuan. Iniisip ko kung paano ako magsisimula ng usapan kapag kaharap ko na si Raven. Mariin akong napapikit. I really don't know how I will approach her.

Bored, I started reading the summary of the book Quinn is obsessed about.

My eyes squinted when I read it. It's about a group of werewolves whose purpose is to kill a family of vampires. And those vampires are the ones who first walked on this world. It also mentioned something about a school for supernatural beings.

I clenched my fist. The plot is so familiar.
