Chapter 14

I can't believe this. They're all here. My whole family is here. My aunties and uncles, as well as mom and dad. Hindi na din ako nagtaka kung paano sila nakapasok. The most powerful witch is with them. She broke through our spell.

"It was just me, auntie." narinig kong sabi ni Val kay aunt Riley.

They are whispering at one corner, but I'm sure all the vampires in this house can hear them. Mom and dad are now eyeing them curiously.

I almost teared up when I saw mom. I badly want to hug her and cry, just like when I was a kid.

"You can't fool me, Valerie. It took me three hours to break through that barrier. It will take more than one powerful witch to cast a spell like this." wika ni aunt Riley. "I know that it will be hard for me as well. Why did you even cast this? Are you in danger?" magkasunod niyang tanong.

"My sister texted me that she went to school with R and J. They're having a group study. Wanna go there with me?" Tristan whispered in my ear.

Hindi ako nagdalawang isip na tumango. I want to be away from here. "I'll just take a bath." sagot ko sa kanya.

Halata din sa mukha ni Tristan ang gulat at mukhang alam niya kung ano ang nangyayari. I can't believe they all went here for Kaylee's birthday. I should've seen that coming.

Walang pasabing dumeretso ako ng kwarto namin ni Raven. Pagkasara ng pinto ay halos mapaupo ako sa sahig dahil sa panghihina ng mga tuhod ko. I don't know how to face all of them.

Hindi ko alam kung ilang minuto akong tulala bago ako nagtungo sa banyo upang maligo. Should I greet them? Should I run instantly when I get out of this room? Or should I just stay here and wait until they're all gone? Damn it. This is frustrating.

Mabilis akong nagbihis pagkatapos kong maligo. I will just act like they're not here, go outside the house and stay with my friends at school until all of them are gone. Yes, that's what I should do.

I took a deep breath before opening the door, but I instantly regretted it when I saw who was waiting for me outside.

"Nice to see you again, Olivia." nakangiting bati ni dad. "Come and join us." inilahad niya ang kanyang kamay.

I was hesitant at first but I eventually accepted it. Dinala niya ako sa living room kung nasaan ang buong pamilya at ang mga dating kaibigan ko. They were laughing together until they saw me with dad.

"Olivia!" masayang tawag sa akin ni aunt Vera nang makita niya ako. "You didn't mention you're housemates with my niece." hinila niya ako palayo kay dad.

We both sat on the couch. I can still feel the stares of the people around us.

"Where's my friend, Tristan?" I asked when I didn't see Tristan around.

"Oh that handsome young man? My brother Zeke asked him to join us but he refused. My brother also insisted that you should stay here so he went out alone."

I mentally cursed. Now I don't have a way to escape this. I'm really being tortured.

"Why are you being friendly with her, Miss Vera?" singit ni Jassy na nakatingin ng masama sa akin. "She's the Ripper."

"She won't kill anyone anymore, right Olivia?" singit din ni dad.

Wala sa sariling napatango ako. He compelled me not to kill anyone, but it didn't work because I'm also a witch and a werewolf. They don't know that, but Val does. Tahimik lang siya ngayon na nagmamatyag sa isang gilid.
