Chapter 42

"The boys joined the stupid marathon because they're bored. They'll meet with us later." sabi ni Jassy habang inaayusan siya ng buhok ni Marcial.

Today is the opening of Foundation Week. All of us decided to visit all the booths. I heard there's also a mini carnival and there are rides. The first and last time I went to a carnival was 4 years ago with Val, Jed and Cole, that's why I'm kinda excited.

"Our circle of friends grew larger but I have no complaints. The others are actually fun to be with." wika naman ni Marcial.

She's referring to Olivia and her friends. They're all really starting to get along. Pagbalik namin ni Olivia dito kanina ay mga tulog pa sila. I'm kinda sleepy but it's worth it. Kahit nakakainis siya. But I'm happy. She said she won't avoid me and the others anymore. She also said that she'll try to get along with my other friends.

"Except Olivia." nakangiwing sabi ni Jassy. "She's always wearing her poker face. She's just like my brother Jed."

Marcial chuckled. "You used to be like that too, Jassy. You only changed when you met Collins."

Maging ako ay natawa sa sinabi niya. When we first met Jassy, she rarely smiled. She's always so grumpy and I swear her anger issues are much worse than mine. Hanggang ngayon ay isang napakalaking misteryo kung paano kami naging magkakaibigan. We can't stand her before because she was such a bitch.

"Why are you laughing, Kaye? That's not true." depensa niya. "By the way, I woke up earlier and you're not here. Where did you go?"

Mabilis akong nag iwas ng tingin. "I went out for some fresh air."

"Why are you blushing, Kaye? Don't tell us you were with Olivia?" may halong pang aasar na tanong ni Marcial.

Hindi ako sumagot at narinig ko ang tawanan nilang dalawa. Naramdaman ko ang pag init ng buong mukha ko dahil sa hiya. Bakit biglang napunta sa akin ang usapan?

"I recognize the jacket you're wearing. I saw Olivia wearing that once." bumulanghit ng tawa si Jassy.

Mas lalong nag init ang buong mukha ko. I can't even deny what they're saying. Olivia told me that I can have her jacket saying I look good wearing it. I think that's a lie because it looks too big for me but I still accepted it.

"Shut up." yan nalang ang nasabi ko at mas lalo silang natawa. "I'll just go downstairs." naglakad ako patungo sa pinto.

"Why? You're going to see Olivia?" natatawang sabi pa rin ni Marcial na hindi ko nalang pinansin.

Lumabas ako ng kwarto at nagtungo sa hagdan. Hindi pa ako tuluyang nakakababa ay may narinig na akong mga sigawan.

"I'll change your last name into Sinclair and you can't do anything about it!" narinig kong galit na sigaw ni uncle Kinley.

"Stop with your stupidity, Kinley. Leave her alone." inis na sabi naman ni auntie Vera.

Naabutan ko sa living room si auntie Vera na nakaupo sa sofa at si uncle Kinley na galit habang nakaharap sa nakayukong si Olivia. Kumunot ang noo ko. Why would he change Olivia's last name to ours? He's really acting weird.

Does he really like Olivia? Does he want to marry her or something?

Nag angat ng tingin si Olivia at nagtama ang mga mata namin. Marahil ay narinig niya ang mga yapak ko pababa ng hagdan. Tipid siyang ngumiti sa akin bago bumaling kay uncle.

"Excuse me, Mr. Sinclair. My sister's waiting for me." saad niya at naglakad palabas ng bahay.

Doon ko lang napansin si Raven na nakahalukipkip malapit sa pinto at parang nagkukunwaring hindi niya naririnig ang mga pinagsasabi ni uncle.
