Louri’s POV
“FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!” I scream as I drive to the base. “HENDERSON MY OFFICE NOW!” I yell as I walk into the base. “Hey what’s happening?” He asks. “I left her.” I say. “YOU WHAT?” He yells. “I-I-I s-s-scared h-her T-tom. I-I-I p-p-punched t-the w-w-wall a-and s-s-she w-was scared. Fuck I-I-I c-can’t breathe.” I stutter and everything goes black.

Scarlett’s POV

“Mom what do I do? She’s not in the right headspace, I'm worried.” I cry to my Mom. “Sweetie she will come back she always does. She adores you. She survied torture that should have killed her just so she could come home to you and Devon.” Mom says and I break down again. “Mom they they raped her Mom. THEY RAPED MY WIFE AND SHE HAS CARRIED THAT ALL ALONE!” I sob. “She’s stronger than I thought then.” Mom says. “Honey, your phone is ringing.” Mom says and I pick it up not seeing who’s calling.
“Louri. Babe please come home.” I hear a man sigh.
“No! Please tell me she’s not..” I say fearing the worst.
“Whoa Scarlett calm down she’s ok. She had a panic attack. She passed out and I took her to the hospital.” Tom says.
“What hospital?” I ask.
“St. Francis. Room 204.” He says.
“I’ll be there soon.” I say hanging up. “Mom, can you drive me to the hospital? Louri had a panic attack and passed out. I need to get to her.” I tell my Mom. “Of course sweetie, call Chris and tell him to keep Devon for a few more days and that you will explain later.” Mom says and I nod.

We get to the hospital and I run inside and run straight to the room that Tom told me to go to. “Miss! Miss that’s a private room family only.” A nurse says. “I’m the wife, get out of my way now.” I say and she lets me in. “Hey Scarlett.” Tom greets. “How is she?” I ask sitting on her bed taking her good hand in mine and brushing hair from her face. “She was given a sedative because when she woke up she was panicking and wouldn’t calm down. The doctor bandaged her hand. Surprisingly it’s not broken, just cut up pretty badly and very bruised.” He tells me. “Why didn’t you tell me? You told me the other things they did to her why didn’t you tell me about the rape?” I ask him. “She told me not to.” He says. “I’m glad she has you to get her through these things Tom. And her therapist.” I tell him. “She doesn’t talk about it that much with me and I get that I will never understand her pain. But I will always have her back. Looks like she’s waking up. I'll leave you two alone.” He says leaving. “Thank you Tom.” I say and he nods and leaves. “What happened? Where am I? What’s going on?” She says starting to panic again. “Hey, hey Babe it’s ok. It’s ok. It’s all going to be ok. I’m here, I'm not going anywhere.” I tell her. “I’m sorry for yelling at you. I’m sorry for putting my fist through the wall. I'll fix the wall I promise. I’m sorry for not telling you.” She says, crying and not looking at me.

Louri’s POV
“Louri Honey please look at me.” Scarlett says and I shake my head. “Look at me, Marine!” She yells and I turn my head to look at her and she’s crying. “What do you want from me? To tell you that you should be disgusted with me? Ashamed of me? To know that I’m weak? Because I already am!” I yell at her and she cries harder. “Stop.” She says through tears. “Stop telling the truth?” I spit. “Stop lying to yourself. You are Not disgusting. You are Not weak and you have Nothing to be ashamed of.” She says sternly. “I love you Louri and I don’t give a fuck about the wall so don’t worry about it.” She tells me, resting her forehead on mine. “How? How could you love me? How could you love me after finding out what they did to me?” I ask, crying. “Because you are my Louri Dollese Evans-Johansson. You are my Marine. You are the mother of my children. You are my person. I love you. I love how you glitter bomb your brother's house to mess with him. You are funny, clever and kind. Someone did unspeakable things to you and you could have given up but you fought. You fought to come home to me, to Devon. You keep your promises even if it means you have to go through the things you did. I love you.” She tells me. “I love you too. Can you just hold me?” I say. “Of course. Scoot over.” She tells me so I do as I’m told she lays down and pulls me into her and just holds me and rubs my back as I soak her shirt with my tears. “Let it out Honey.” She tells me. “EVERYDAY! THEY WOULD TORTURE ME THEN THEY WOULD THEY WOULD RAPE ME EVERYDAY SCARLETT EVERY FUCKING DAY!” I scream into her chest and I can feel her crying as her grip on me tightens. “Is everything ok in here we heard yelling?” A nurse asks. “OUT NOW!” Scarlett yells protectively. I hear them leave and I end up sobbing myself to sleep. I slip into a nightmare.

Scarlett’s POV
About fifteen minutes after the nurse leaves Louri cries herself to sleep. Just as I’m about to fall asleep she starts muttering in her sleep and I can only assume it’s a nightmare. “Louri wake up now.” I say shaking her and she jolts up sweat covering her body.

Louri’s POV
I wake up to Scarlett shaking me and telling me to wake up. I jolt up and I can feel the sweat dripping off me. “Scarlett?” I ask, looking down into her eyes. Not seeing pity but love and a little bit of worry. “Yeah Babe it’s me. You are safe. I won’t let anyone hurt you. You are safe.” She says. those three words ‘you are safe’ make me fall back into her arms. “Babe remember when you made me promise never to use my influence or power to keep you from being deployed overseas?” She asks and I know where this is going. “Yes I do.” I say. “I’m going to have to break that promise. You can be angry at me, I can't lose you.” She says her voice is breaking. “I understand.” I tell her. “You do?” She asks, shocked. “Yes. After this last deployment though, ok?” I say. “Louri please.” She says. “Scarlett I’m up for promotion to Lieutenant Colonel and if I get it it’s possible that I will only have to go on deployment every few years instead of every year. Baby I have to do this, you know that.” I tell her and she sighs. “Fine but if you don’t get the promotion after this deployment I will pull all the strings I have to.” She says. “And I won’t be able to stop you will I?” I ask with a slight chuckle. “No you won’t.” She says. God she is the most stubborn woman I know. “Ok. Should I warn the General?” I ask. “Oh I already told him I would take a pair of garden shears to his dick if you died.” She says. “You threatened my commanding officer?” I laugh. “With Devon in the baby carrier.” SHe says and I burst out laughing. “You are scary when you get protective.” I say. “Yeah well no one hurts those I love I learned it from you Babe.” She says. “You didn’t tell him that part did you?” I ask. “No, I didn't want you to get in trouble.” She says. “Can we watch a movie?” I ask. “Sure what do you want to watch?” She asks and a grin appears. “Oh god not Iron Man 2 again?” She groans. “No the first AVENGERS.” I say. “Ugh fine.” She says and plays the movie. “Can you bring that suit home?” I ask. “I have a copy of all of my black widow suits.” She says. “You’ve been holding out on me, how dare you.” I say jokingly. “You really want to have sex with me being Natasha Romanoff?” She asks. “Duh.” I say. “Fine when you get home from deployment.” She says. “Thank you.” I say before a doctor comes in. “Here are your discharge papers. Major if anything like this happens again come straight to the E.R.” He says handing me the papers. “Let’s go home.” Scarlett says. “My truck is at the base.” I say as we get in Scarlett’s car. “We can get it tomorrow. Let’s just relax for now ok.” She says. “Ok.” I say leaning over giving her a kiss on the cheek making her smile.
