Louri’s POV
Scarlett and I are just laying in bed after a nice relaxing bath and changing the sheets. She’s wearing my sweats so I decided to go with my usual sleep out and fit one of my USMC shirts and USMC shorts. “So I asume you want to wear your dress blues?” Scarlett asks with a notpad in her hand as we are sat up against the headboard with my arm wrapped around her shoulders. “If you are ok with that yes I would.” I tell her. “With your medals right?” She asks. “Yes.” I tell her. “Even your Congressional Medal of Honor?” She asks, she knows I don’t really like wearing it. “Yes because this is a specail day and it seems fitting that I wear all my medals. Devon Hendricks used to tell me that if I ever found someone after Jessica that I could fully give my heart to, that if I married them I should wear all my medals. So I’m wearing it for him in a way or is that too weird?” I say. “I think it’s sweet.” She says. “I was thinking that we have three seats marked off as reserved one for Tom. One for Jessica, and On for Devon Hendricks. But I wanted your permission to do that since they were your family and since Jessica was your fiance.” Scarlett says nervously. “I know it’s weird that I want to have a seat marked off for your late fiance but she was important to you and I want her and Tom and Sargent Devon involved in our wedding somehow.” She continues. “I love that idea. I’m honored that you want to add Jessica as well.” I tell her wiping away some tears that fell from my eyes. “And I want to invite Mary Hendricks. Or would that cause her pain since you were going to marry her daughter?” Scarlett asks. “Let’s call her because she's always up late.” I say reaching for my phone. I open it up and press the call button on Mary’s contact.
“Hello Dear.” She answers.
“Hey Mary, you are on speaker. I've got Scarlett with me.” I tell her.
“Hello Scarlett Dear. What do I owe the pleasure of this call?” She asks.
“Mary, you know how Scarlett and I never had a proper wedding.” I say.
“Yes. Louri Dollese Evans-Johansson it’s taken you long enough to give that wonderful woman the wedding she deserves.” Mary scolds me.
“Mary, we would like to invite you but we didn’t know if it would cause you pain since I was going to marry your daughter.” I say.
“Lovelies I would love to be at your wedding. And Louri I still want to give you something I was going to give you and Jessica when you got married but well you know she um.” Mary says, starting to cry.
“Mary, you don’t have to say it.” I tell her.
“You are all I have left of my kids, Louri. Can I fly out?” She asks.
“Absolutely please let me buy your ticket, you deserve first class.” Scarlett says.
“Oh Honey that’s sweet but.” Scarlett cuts her off.
“Too late I am already buying the ticket.” Scarlett says.
“She really is. I’ll give her your number so she can send you the link.” I say.
“Ok, she's just as stubborn as you, Louri.” Mary chuckles.
“Yeah I am.” Scarlett laughs in agreement.
“I love you both and I will see you soon and I am spoiling those kids of your’s. Good night, Dears.” Mary says.
“Goodnight Mary.” Scarlett and I say at the same time before hanging up.
“Ok I love how she scolded you about taking so long for us to have a proper wedding.” Scarlett laughs. “Things came up like work.” I say. “Yeah true. You know how the week before the Hail Caesar premiere you got me those bridal magazines?” She asks. “Yeah, why do you still have them? I ask. “I do. When you were captured I kept looking through them thinking that I would never get the chance to actually use any of the advice in those magazines. But now I can.” She says. “Yes you can. Do you want to announce our plan in the group chat now?” I ask. “Yes.” She says excitedly pulling up the group chat.

Louri(Scarlett’s Bitch🪖): No I am giving Scarlett the proper wedding she deserves.

Chris(Flag Boy🇺🇲): Louri who’s going to give you away you and Dad aren’t talking.
Louri(Scarlett’s Bitch🪖): Well I haven’t asked yet but I was going to ask Sherman.
Chris(Flag Boy🇺🇲): Or I could.
Louri(Scarlett’s Bitch🪖): But I was going to ask you to be my best man.
