Scarlett’s POV
Chris had apologized to me and Louri and Louri being the giant child she is, put glitter all over the inside of his car. And today is the day. It’s the day we are having our wedding. Louri kept trying to get a sneak peak at my dress so much that Lizzie tackled her. It was quite funny. Louri and Chris set everything up last night and she and Devon are getting ready together. “How do you feel, Scar?” Liz asks. “Great, I get to declare my love for Louri in front of about 200 people. “I’m not looking, I promise.” Louri says coming into our room in full uniform with her hand covering her eyes. I'm not in my dress yet so Ashley hides it in the bathroom. “You can open your eyes, Marine. I'm not wearing the dress that the twins still won’t let me pay for.” I chuckle and she opens her eyes and I notice she isn’t wearing her congressional medal of honor but she is holding the box that it’s in. “First off happy anniversary and second, since today is such a big day I was wondering if you would put this on me?” She asks, holding up the leather covered box. “One happy anniversary and second I’d love to.” I say taking the box from her. “Holy shit is that what I think it is?” MK asks, I forgot the twins don’t know. “If you mean the congressional medal of honor than yes it is.” I say proud of my wife. “How did you get that?” Ashley says and Louri tenses. “Guys, that's a painful memory, please don’t ask.” Liz says and Louri relaxes and mouths thank you to Liz. “Ok turn around and bend down a bit.” I say making her chuckle. “I’m only a few inches taller Baby.” Louri says. “Yes but you are wearing your dress shoes. They add a few inches.” I say and she bends her knees slightly so I can put the medal around her neck. “Ashley, it's from when she saved 50 marines.” MK whispers to her sister. “Oh.” Ashley whispers back. “You can say it. It’s from when I was captured.” Louri says. “We just don’t want to trigger you.” Ashley says. “It’s ok. My therapist said that the more I talk about it the less power the memories have over me.” Louri says. “Huh, mine said the same thing.” I say. “I have a question for you MK, Ashley.” Louri says. “What is it?” They say at the same time knowing it creeps Louri out. “Do you have to do that? It's creepy. But why won’t you let Scarlett pay for the dress I mean it’s a Row original and the only one you are making according to Scarlett?” She asks. “Because we don’t make our family pay.” MK says. “It’s true they won’t let me pay either.” Liz says. “You think of us as family?” I ask, trying not to get emotional because I don’t want to ruin my makeup even though it’s waterproof since I will most likely cry. “Yes we do.” Ashley says. “Now I hate to ruin this beautiful moment but Scarlett you have to get into your dress so Louri get out.” Liz says. “You do know this is my house right?” Louri jokes. “Marine.” I say. “Yep I’m leaving.” Louri says and kisses my cheek before leaving the room.
Louri’s POV
“Hey dear.” Mary says entering my office where I have been getting ready. “Hey Mary, I am so glad that you came.” I tell her, giving her a giant hug. “You are Uncle Tommy’s Mom.” Devon says. “Yes I am. I haven’t seen you in a while.” She says bending down to hug her. Mildred runs in looking panicked. “Mildred, what is it?” I ask. “The officiant canceled when he found  out he was going to officiate a lesbian wedding.” She says. “Homophobic asshole.” Mary says. “What are we going to do?” I ask as I start to pace. “I can do it. I got licensed when you and Jessica got engaged, remember.” Mary says and I want to cry. “Louri I can see that you don't want to hurt me in any way. You may not have married Jessica but you are my family. You are all I have left of my twins please let me do this for you.” She says. “Are you sure?” I ask. “More than sure and I want to give you this.” She says pulling out a ring box. “I know that you have wanted to get Scarlett a new ring so I want to give you the one Jessica bought for you. I think she would want you to give it to the person that you were able to give your heart to.” Mary says, handing me a gorgeous ring. “Thank you.” I say with tears running down my face, good thing I don’t wear makeup. “Thirty minute warning.” Mildred says looking at her watch. “Ok how do I look Pop?” I ask. “Perfect, how about me?” He asks. “Perfect oh here let me straighten out your eagles.” I say straightening his epaulets. As Sherman walks me down the aisle my unit salutes me and I salute them back Ma is already crying. “You look wonderful.” Ma says as I reach the front. “Are you ready for this?” Chris asks. “Yes.” I say confidently.
