Louri’s POV
Greg and I are working in the office when there is a knock on the door. “Enter.” I call out and I am tackled by Devon knocking me out of my seat. “Well hello to you too little Marine.” I say hugging him back this is what I needed after what happened today. “Mommy said you have to work late.” He says. “I do you will be asleep when I get home.” I tell him and he pouts and buries his head in my chest. “Hey it’s ok you can stay and have dinner with me.” I tell him and that makes him smile. “Hey Babe I’m glad everyone is ok.” Scarlett says when I stand up with Devon still in my arms. “Yeah me too.” I say going to give her a kiss but Devon puts one hand on my head his other on Scarlett’s. “No yucky.” He says making us all laugh. “Devon I’m going to kiss Mommy whether you like it or not.” I say giving Scarlett a kiss. “Ew Uncle Greggy save me.” Devon says jumping out of my arms and into Greg’s leg and accidentally unlatched Greg’s prosthetic leg but thankfully Devon doesn’t notice because Gregs pant leg keeps it from falling to the floor. “I Mama and Mommy being yucky?” He says as he subtly fixes his leg. “Am I allowed to kiss your Auntie Grace?” He asks. “Of course you can.” He says. “Than why can’t your moms kiss?” Greg asks. “Because they are my moms duh.” He says and Scarlett and I laugh. “That is your child.” Scarlett says. “Yep what’s for dinner?” I ask. “Grace and I made your favorite.” She says. “Goulash?” I ask and she nods. “You are the best.” I tell her. “Did you marry me for my cooking skills?” She jokes. “I lit myself on fire.” I say and Greg looks at me. “How?” He asks. “She tried to make breakfast and didn’t roll up her sleeves and I ran down the stair to the sound of shrieking and screams and Louri was ripping off a burning sweatshirt when I entered the kitchen and she has never been allowed to cook unsupervised since.” Scarlett laughs. “That is very true she watches me like a hawk.” I say kissing the side of Scarlett’s head. “Yuck.” Devon says. “How do you think your cousin was made?” I ask, pointing to Grace’s stomach. “Science duh Mama you need to catch up.” I have been sassed by a six year old. “They can stay if they like.” The general says. “Are you sure we won’t be in the way?” Scarlett asks. “I’m sure plus I think the Colonel needs you.” He says.

Scarlett’s POV
“I’m sure plus I think the Colonel needs you.” The general says. Did she have a panic attack? Is she ok? Why would he say that? “Baby I can see the wheels turning in your head. I had a mild panic attack and yeah I do kinda need you.” Louri whispers in my ear so the others don’t hear her. “Louri can we talk in the sleeping quarters section of your office?” I ask, this office is much bigger than the one at the base in LA. “Yeah of course.” She says and leads the way. “Hey I saw the look in your eye when Devon hugged you it was more than a mild panic attack wasn’t it?” I ask caressing her cheek. “I started going down the rabbit hole but Greg helped and I know that they are safe and back at camp but part of me still worries.” She says. “Honey they are in a warzone of course you are going to worry but you don’t have to carry that weight alone I’m here.” I tell her. “But you are leaving soon.” She says. “But I’ll be back. You are the one that is always telling me we will make it work. We have been through a lot together we can do this.” I tell her and she wraps her arms around me. “How did I get so lucky to have such a kind, sweet, understanding, beautiful woman as my partner.” She says. “I did a movie with your brother.” I chuckle. “Now let’s go eat before the food gets cold.” I tell her and she nods and we leave but not before she pulls me in for a loving kiss. We stayed for dinner and we ended up with the twins and Devon sleeping on Louri’s cot which luckily is bigger than the one at her office back in LA. “Alright Greg you can head home  now we’ve gotten everything we need. Go get some rest.” Louri says as she stretches her back after sitting for so long. “I’ll get the twins into their stroller.” She tells me. We get back to our house and Louri puts the twins to bed while I put Devon in his. “He is just like you, very hard to wake up.” I chuckle softly. “That is very true, we like our sleep.” She says with a soft laugh. “Thank you for bringing the kids with you Scarlett, it's just what I needed after the stress of today. Being tackled into a hug by Devon is exactly what I needed.” She says wrapping her arms around my waist and I wrap mine around her neck. “It was Devon’s idea to come with us. I didn’t think he’d tackle you but it was kinda cute.” I tell her, resting my head against her chest. “Well thank you anyway the food was great and so was the company.” She says. “Come on Marine, let's get some rest.” I tell her. “Lead the way.” She says and we head to our room and get ready for bed. “I love you Scarlett.” She tells me as she wraps her arms around me and I lay my head on her chest. “I love you Louri.” I say leaning up connecting our lips.
