Louri’s POV
It’s been a month since the funeral. I put the picture of him and Jessica on my desk next to the one of Sergeant Devon. “Lor?” Chris says entering my office. “What are you doing on base?” I ask him. “I came to have lunch with my sister is that a crime?” He says. “No it’s not. I didn’t even realize it was lunch time.” I tell him. “I thought we could go to the little cafe right around the corner.” He tells me. “You have never wanted to go there. What changed?” I ask. “Well Tom was always telling me to try it and now.” “That he’s gone you want to go for him.” I finish for him. “Yeah.” He says. “Lets go then.”  I say to him. We get to the cafe and we sit at the table Scarlett and I always use beecause it has more privacy. “You know Scarlett and I would get coffee here on a regular basis before we were even dating.” I tell Chris. “Is this where she would sneak off to during when you where at the base during filming AVENGERS?” He asks. “Yeah or if I was really busy she would get my regular order along with hers to go and bring it to me and we’d eat in my office.” I tell him. “You know  the first time you got hurt after you guys met she was a wreck I’m surprised she didn’t tell you how she felt then and there.” He tells me. “I think she did actually now that I think about it.” I tell him. “What? I need to hear this story.” He says. “Ok so I’m in the hospital right. Well she called me a dumbass. I made the joke that I was her dumbass and she said ‘Yes you are’. My heart rate actually went up when she said that because I already had feelings for her. When she saw my heart rate go up on the monitor I told her it was because I was in pain because she was dating Ryan at the time. Damn now that I think of it maybe she was trying to tell me.” I say. “I’m calling her.” Chris says pulling out his phone and calling Scarlett putting it on speaker.
“Hey Chris I’m a little busy is everything ok?” She answers.
“Yeah everythings fine I’ve got Louri with me.” Chris says.
“Hey Baby.” I say.
“Hey Babe. So what can I do for you two?” She asks.
“Do you remember the first time Lor got hurt after you two met and became friends?” Chris asks.
“Vividly why?” She asks.
“Well I was saying that I was surpised you didn’t tell her you loved her right then and there and Lor said that now looking back she thinks you did. You called her a dumbass and she said but ‘I’m your dumbass’ and you responded ‘Yes you are’ were you telling her you loved her?” Chris asks.
“Louri you just now realized that. Yes I was but I didn’t know how until she said she was my dumbass. Glad to see you finally caught on after we had three children together.” She say laughing.
“Like I said. I’m your dumbass.” I tell her with a smile.
“A dumbass with a cute ass.” She responds, making me chuckle.
“Hey I’m still here.” Chris says.
“And I stand by what I said she has a cute ass.” She says completely serious. “Ok Tina geez keep your pants on.” Scarlett groans. “Just sign the damn thing.” I hear Tina say. “Ok calm your tits.” Scarlett says much to my surprise I have never heard her say that I say it all the time but I’ve never heard her say it. “Louri is rubbing off on you.” Chris chuckles.
“I didn’t mean to say that it just came out.” Scarlett says.
“Bye Scar. See you Sunday.” He says.
“Bye Baby see you after work.” I tell her.
“Bye you two.” She says before hanging up.

“I can’t believe it took you almost ten years to figure that shit out.” Chris laughs. “I can’t believe she said ‘calm your tits’ I say it all the time but I’ve never heard her say it.” I tell him. “Yeah that was kinda shocking I think she surprised herself.” He says. “Yeah. So tell me how is filming for Endgame?” I ask. “Good but I’m not telling you anything. I can’t you know that.” He says. “Come on one thing.” I ask. “I play Captain America.” He smiles. “Fuck you. I hate you.” I grumble. “No you don’t.” He says. “No I don’t.” I say. “Well I have to go and get back to set.” He says looking at his watch. “And I should get back to base.” I say. We get up and share a hug before parting ways. I can’t believe it took me nearly ten years to figure out what she was telling me that day. I finish work early and go to set where Scarlett is. “Hi Louri Evans-Johansson.” I say showing my badge to the security guard. “Go right in.” He says. I’m only allowd in the trailer and mess hall section of the set. “HOLY FUCK YOUR HAIR!” I yell when I enter her trailer seeing her wig for Natasha is long with the blond tips. “What’s wrong with my hair?” She asks hand on her hip. “Nothing, I think it’s hot.” I tell her. “Thank you.” She blushes. “Hi Mama.” Devon says looking up from his tablet Papa gor him. “Hey Buddy have you been good for Mommy today?” I ask and he nods his head. “That’s good.” I tell him. “Sooo?” I get cut off. “I can’t tell you anything.” She says. “Whyyyy?” I whine like a child. “You know why.” She says. “Stupid NDA.” I groan, putting my head on the table. “How was work?” She asks. “Boring just paperwork. Then more paperwork.” I tell her. “Well I have to get back to set.” She says. “Ok, break a leg.” I tell her and she leans down kissing my temple before leaving the trailer.
