Evelyn's POV

I turned to my other side and wanted to wrap my arm around Maya but my hand just landed on the mattress.

I slowly opened my eyes to see that Maya isn't on my bed but her things are still here.

The door was slightly opened so I got out of bed, put on some shorts and a shirt then left the room.

I looked towards Elsie's room to see the door more opened than it usually is. I went towards her room and stepped in quietly.

I saw Elsie and Maya laying down while facing each other as Maya held Elsie very close to her while she was gently playing with her hair and her right cheek was placed on the top of Elsie's head.

I smiled at Maya and she opened her eyes, looking at me as I stepped closer to the bed "she came to your room saying she had a nightmare. I didn't want to wake you up" she whispered so she doesn't wake Elsie up.

I got in bed, on Elsie's other side and laid on my side to look at Maya "nothing could wake me up when you're laying beside me. I have the best sleep ever when you're with me" she smiled widely at what I said as I gently rubbed up and down Elsie's arm.

Elsie let out a small whimper and cuddled more into Maya, making both of us smile.

I like that Elsie loves Maya this much but I'm also a little scared.

What if things don't go well with Maya and we don't last?

As much as I hate that thought, there is still a possibility of it happening.

Let's just hope nothing bad happens because I'm not okay with that thought. I mean it when I say I'll do anything to keep her in my life.

She's like a big part of my life now.

"You're gonna be a great mom" I said and she smiled a little "yeah"

I ended up falling asleep in Elsie's bed and woke up to an empty bed so I got up, brushed my teeth and went downstairs to the kitchen when I heard my two favorite voices ever.

Elsie was on Maya's shoulders as she held onto her head so she doesn't fall with one of Maya's hands on Elsie leg to make sure she doesn't fall and the other one working on whatever food she's making.

She smiled and looked in my direction "good morning princess" Maya said to me "but I'm princess" Elsie whined making both of us laugh as I stepped closer to them. I placed my hand over Elsie's eyes and kissed Maya's lips softly "good morning" I said removing my hand from her eyes.

"You're little princess" Maya said and Elsie shrugged "okay"

"What are you making?" I asked sneaking my hand under Maya's shirt and around her waist, gently rubbing her skin "pancakes. Elsie loves them"

"Evelyn" I pulled away from Maya and looked at the door to see my dad standing there with an angry look on his face.

Maya put Elsie down and cleared her throat "good morning, sir" she said nervously. I held her hand to calm her down as Elsie went to give my dad a hug.

"I'm just gonna talk to Evelyn for a bit" he said to Elsie making me roll my eyes "I'm sorry" I heard Maya mumble to me. I shook my head "don't be baby" I placed a soft kiss on her cheek making her smile a little.

I walked towards my dad as Elsie ran back to Maya. Me and my dad stepped out of the kitchen, far enough for them to not hear our conversation.

"What now?" I asked crossing my arms "did she stay over?" He asked angrily "no. She came over at nine in the morning on a Saturday like a crazy person- yes, she stayed over"

"I don't want her around Elsie. She's a bad influence" I raised my eyebrows at what he said and laughed "Elsie loves her more than she loves you and I'm pretty sure she's not a bad influence. What did she even do? Give me one valid reason to prove to me that she's a bad influence"

I stayed quiet and waited for him to say something "see, you have nothing to fucking say asshole-" he cut me off and held my arm roughly "I'm your fucking dad. Don't talk to me like that"

I pushed him back roughly "you stopped being my dad a while ago. Like when you forced me to fuck someone for your own sake, or when you forced me to be in a relationship with Charles because it benefits you.. or or listen to this, when you hurt Elsie. That's exactly the day you stopped being my dad"

"I held her arm just like I do to you" he said as if that makes it any better "just because you do it to me doesn't mean it's right. She's a little girl and it left a bruise on her arm. You can't even imagine how much that made me hate you and you can't even imagine how scared she is because of what you did"

His face expressions relaxed "she just kissed me good morning-" I cut him off "doesn't mean she's not scared"

"That's not what our discussion is about. I don't want her here" he said and I shrugged "she's more of a parent to Elsie than you ever will be"

I walked past him "is she like a dad and you're the mom or what?" I turned to look at him again and went closer to him "So she's not a bad influence, she just has a dick"

He shrugged "can you blame me? It's fucking weird-" I cut him off and pointed my finger at him "you're a grown ass man. Don't fucking talk about her like that" I threatened "and I'll bring her over as much as I fucking want. Maybe you just need some dick too, dad"

That last line could've gotten me killed but he had it coming. Can't talk about my girl like that and expect me to stay quiet.

I went back to Maya and Elsie "here you go. Go put them on the table" Maya said handing a plate to Elsie who ran to put it on the table outside "walk" Maya said and Elsie did as she was told immediately, walking slowly as she held the plate with both hands and looked down at it to make sure she doesn't drop it.

"Is everything okay?" She asked and I nodded my head, kissing her lips "everything's okay"

"About what you said yesterday" I gave her a confused look and put her hair behind her ear "the being a mom thing" she said and I nodded "oh yeah. Sorry, forget I said that, I guess I was just tired" no I wasn't. I meant it.

I hate children who aren't Elsie but ever since I got with Maya, I got the weirdest baby fever. Like I want millions of children. Not that much but I want kids with Maya.

"Oh okay because I feel like it's too early to think about that right now" ouch but understandable I guess "yeah" I agreed with her and she nodded.

Elsie came back "I put the plate on the table" she said excitedly "okay then, let's take this and go eat"
