Chapter 8 | S1: Chemical Brilliance

Another day, another slay. That's my motto this day, actually it's my motto everyday!

As I entered the classroom, I spotted the girls and Niki sitting in their usual spot. I decided to go speak to Niki. We had gotten closer over the past two days, bonding over shared notes and discussions about our classes. Today, I wanted us to recite our notes for history class.

"Hey, Niki!" I greeted him with a smile as I settled into my seat. "Ready for today's recitation?"

Niki returned the smile and nodded. "Yeah, Sunoo. I've been reviewing your notes all morning. Thanks for letting me take a picture of it."

"No problemo! Do you want me to ask you questions?" I suggested.

"Yeah, I'm in" Then we started skimming through our notes, quizzing each other on important details, ensuring that we were well-prepared for the recitation. Then came our history teacher, Ms. Kim called out names to answer, including Niki's and mine, and we confidently recited our notes, earning nods of approval from her. After the recitation, Ms. Kim is about to call the students with the most recitation points.

"Very well done, Sunoo, Kazuha, and Niki. You all tied for the highest recitation points" Ms. Kim complimented us. "Your recitations were exceptional. Keep up the good work."

With a sense of accomplishment, Niki and I exchanged a glance and a subtle high-five. We had aced the recitation, and it felt great to have each other's support!

Lunch break had arrived, and the girls found a table in the cafeteria to enjoy our meal. As I scrolled through my phone, I noticed a message notification from Sunghoon. He had messaged me last night, and my heart skipped a beat.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to respond to Sunghoon's message. The girls noticed my sudden excitement and squealed, unable to contain their joy. Their excitement echoed through the cafeteria, drawing the attention of other students. Gosh this is embarrassing!

Blushing, I glanced around, realizing that all eyes were on us. I quickly typed a reply to Sunghoon, trying to compose myself amidst the curious stares. It seemed like the whole cafeteria had become an audience to our interactions.

As I finished replying, I could feel the anticipation building within me. The girls, on the other hand, were practically bursting with excitement, their smiles growing wider by the second. It was a heartwarming sight, knowing that they were genuinely happy for me.

Eventually, the lunch break came to an end, and it was time for my advanced chemistry class. I bid the girls goodbye and Niki and I made our way to Building 1 for our advanced chemistry class. Along the way, we bumped into Heeseung in the hallway.

"Oh, Heeseung, headed to chemistry class too?" I asked, trying to strike up a conversation.

Heeseung nodded, his warm smile lighting up his face. "Yeah, looks like Niki has advanced chemistry too, let's all sit together" Niki nodded and smiled.
