Heeseung's POV

I slowly woke up, my eyes blinking against the harsh hospital lighting. It took me a moment to focus, but I soon realized that my older brother, Joonho, was sitting nearby. He looked up from his phone, a grin breaking out on his face as he noticed I was awake.

"There's the baby, who finally decided to join the land of the living." Joonho quipped, his tone light and playful.

I groaned and rubbed my eyes. "What time is it?"

"Early afternoon," he replied. "Jake's parents finally agreed to let you visit."

My eyes widened at the news, and I pushed myself into a sitting position. "Really?! They did? H-How did you convince them?"

Joonho shrugged. "Just used the old Lee charm, I guess."

I couldn't help but smile at his nonchalant response. He always knew how to work his way around people. Then my eyes landed on the table nearby, and I couldn't help but be surprised by the sight. It was covered with all sorts of things – delicious-looking food, stuffed toys, and even clothes. I scratched my head, baffled.

"The fuck's all this? Is it a festival, or my funeral?" I asked.

Joonho laughed and leaned back in his chair. "One of your friends dropped by and brought all this stuff. His name was... Jay, he said it's from all your friends."

I couldn't help but be touched by their gesture, even though it was typical for Jay and the others. Still, I felt the warmth of their friendship. I cursed under my breath, overwhelmed by their support.

"Good friends you've got there," Joonho remarked with a smirk, teasing me. "And I hear Jay even called you his soulmate."

I blushed at the mention of Jay's words and quickly shook my head. "Joonho. You know I have Jake"

My brother laughed, clearly enjoying my embarrassment. "I thought you said you two broke up? Of course, you'll make amends when you get to talk to him. Anyway, they seem to really care about you. You've got a great group of friends. Not like when you were in junior high."

"Yeah, they're... something..." I replied softly, touched by the sentiment. "I'm pretty lucky, aren't I?"

I was itching with impatience to see Jake, "Uhm so... can we go to Jake's room now?" I asked, hoping we could go as soon as possible.

Joonho chuckled, shaking his head. "No uh, hold your horses. You need to eat something first, and I don't think you'll look very impressive visiting your friend looking all disheveled. It won't contribute to his healing." I tried to hide my annoyance, knowing that my brother was only looking out for me.

"Come on, Joonho," I urged, "we can eat later."

Joonho chuckled and ruffled my hair. "Hey there, Mr. Eager. You'll do Jake no good if you look like a mess. Eat first, then let's get you cleaned up, shall we?"

I have to admit, he had a point. I hadn't looked in a mirror since my hospital stay, and the thought of what I might see in the mirror made me wince. I reluctantly agreed, and I could hear him rummaging through the bags of goodies that Jay and the others had brought.

He turned to me, carrying a cup of instant ramyeon. I eyed the cup hungrily; it had been ages since I'd had a proper meal.

"You better stay here if you don't want me to leash you, I'll just get hot water from the nurse." and watched as Joonho left the room.
