Heeseung's POV
As I rushed to Jake's side, a whirlwind of emotions filled me. Joonho was quick to step out and call the nurses. Jake's eyes met mine, a weak but heartwarming smile forming on his lips.
"H-Hey..." he rasped, his voice frail.
I couldn't hold back my tears, but I managed to chuckle through them. "Jake," I whispered, my voice trembling with a mix of relief and joy. "You have no idea how much I've missed you."
Jake's eyes twinkled, and he managed to crack a joke, just like he always did. "I'm kind of embarrassed now. You've probably read that letter."
I chuckled, my tears falling freely now. "Yeah, I did."
Jake's eyes widened in slight embarrassment. "Y-You really did...?" he asked, his voice still weak.
I nodded, tears welling up in my eyes. "Yes. And I want to say, I love you too. You don't have to be embarrassed about anything."
Just then, the nurses rushed in, surrounding Jake, and I had to step back. Joonho came over, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder. He gave me a reassuring nod and a genuine smile, and for the first time in a while, I felt a glimmer of hope. Jake was back, and we were in this together.
I was outside when the doctor approached me, handing me the blood test results, my heart raced with anticipation. I glanced at the papers and saw the names, and a wave of relief washed over me.
A little later, Sunoo, Sunghoon, and Jungwon arrived at the hospital, concern etched across their faces. I greeted them with a tired but thankful smile.
"Hey, how's Jake?" Sunoo asked immediately, his voice filled with worry.
Heeseung replied, "He's awake and resting now. The doctors and nurses are keeping an eye on him."
Jungwon chimed in, "That's great news. We were all so worried. I hope he'll be able to attend the graduation on Friday."
"Yeah, I really wish he will." I said.
Sunghoon then inquired about Jay. "Where's Jay, Jungwon? Did you two fight again?"
Jungwon explained, "No silly, he met up with Niki for something, he said."
Sunoo then glanced at his phone, "Oh... maybe that's why Niki's responding to my messages. They're probably just busy."
I decided it was time to share the results of the blood tests with them. "Oh, speaking of which, the doctor just handed me these, the blood test results. Sunoo, you had slightly healthier blood than Sunghoon, and they found out that Sunghoon has anemia, probably due to his excessive drinking."
Sunoo raised an eyebrow, looking at Sunghoon suspiciously. Sunghoon held up his hands in a jokingly defensive manner. "Hey, I'll stop drinking now if it makes you happy."
They all shared a collective chuckle, the tension in the room momentarily eased.
Jay's POV
I kept talking to Niki, my anxiety growing as I considered the situation. "What's your plan then? This shit's complicated."
Niki's determined nod didn't alleviate my concerns. "I really want to confess before graduation, I really want to do it cause... I'll be leaving for Japan right after graduation, and I think I can't just leave without letting Sunoo know how I feel."
