Sunoo's POV

I stirred from my sleep, blinking away the remnants of dreams as the morning light filtered into the room. The warmth of the sun bathed the space, and for a moment, everything felt calm and peaceful.

But then, Heeseung's voice broke through the quiet serenity. He was standing by the bed, a mischievous grin on his face, and his words were laced with a playful tone. "Wakey-wakey, sleepyhead. Rise and shine."

I groaned, rubbing the sleep from my eyes as I propped myself up on my elbows. "Mhm, what time is it?"

Heeseung checked his watch. "Time for breakfast. I made tteokbokki. You're in for a treat."

Despite my initial reluctance to leave the comfort of my bed, the promise of Heeseung's cooking was enough to get me into action. I swung my legs over the side of the bed and sat up, running a hand through my messy hair.

Heeseung sat at the couch, where he had laid out plates of tteokbokki and a steaming pot of rice cakes in spicy sauce on the table. The aroma was mouthwatering, and my stomach grumbled in anticipation.

I took a seat across from Heeseung, picking up my chopsticks. "This looks amazing, really. Thanks for making breakfast."

Heeseung smiled warmly. "You're welcome. It's the least I can do."

We ate in companionable silence for a while, savoring the delicious food. Then, Heeseung broke the quiet with a question that had been on his mind.

Heeseung broke the silence, "Do you think Beomgyu will be transferring today?" Heeseung asked, his tone tinged with uncertainty.

I shook my head, taking another bite of tteokbokki. "No, I don't think so. He just arrived from the States, and he'd need some time to settle in."

Heeseung let out a sigh of relief. "That's good to hear. I'm not sure I'm ready to face him yet."

I reached across the table and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. "You'll be fine, Heeseung. Just give it time. And I'm here."

After we finished our meal, I washed up in the bathroom, followed by Heeseung.

When it was time to leave for school, I headed to the door, but as I opened it, I was met with an unexpected sight. Sunghoon was standing outside, leaning against his bike, a somewhat apologetic expression on his face.

Heeseung followed me to the doorway, and I could sense the tension building between them. Sunghoon cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Sunoo," he began, "I wanted to-"

I looked at Heeseung. "Come on, we might get late." I said and hopped on my bike, speeding off. Heeseung followed too. For now, I didn't want to talk to Sunghoon.

As Heeseung and I arrived at school, we walked in silence for a moment before Heeseung finally broke it.

"Sunoo," he began tentatively, "did you and Sunghoon fight because of me?"

I glanced at Heeseung, a mixture of guilt and reluctance welling up inside me. Heeseung's concern was true, but I didn't want to put any more weight on his already heavy shoulders.

"No," I replied quickly, perhaps a bit too quickly. "It's not because of you, Heeseung."

Heeseung didn't press the matter further, but his expression remained troubled. We continued to walk side by side until we reached the point where we would part ways to head to our respective classrooms.
