Chapter 33 | S1: Caught In A Web

Sunoo's POV

As I walked into school on a Saturday, my heart was heavy with worry. With Sunghoon suspended, I couldn't help but wonder how we would manage to perform our ice skating routine. I approached our instructor, Mr. Jang, and asked him about the situation. His response hit me like a ton of bricks.

"Sunoo, if Sunghoon is unable to perform, you'll have to do it on your own or not perform at all. However, if you choose not to perform, it will greatly impact your grade," Mr. Jang explained.

I was torn between wanting to support Sunghoon and not wanting to jeopardize my own performance. I thanked Mr. Jang and left, my mind scattered with thoughts.

Later, during gymnastics class, we were practicing as usual, Jay helped me be better at the balancing beam while Jungwon cheered me up. We also did stretching but Jay struggled a bit, it was a bit funny seeing his face almost cry, whenever I see him he always tries to look manly lol.

Jungwon then decides to practice on the high bar. He was swinging so fast and graceful. But... As Jungwon was swinging on the bar, it suddenly snapped, causing him to fall to the ground with a sickening thud. H-He screamed out in pain, a-and Jay rushed to his side, carefully picking him up and instructing me to call for an ambulance.

My hands trembled as I dialed 119, my mind filled with panic. The whole school seemed to be watching in shock as Jay took Jungwon at the gate of the school, and the gravity of the situation sank in. I was traumatized and overwhelmed by the sight of my friend in such pain.

Heeseung appeared beside us, his expression filled with worry and shock. I could tell he was genuinely concerned for Jungwon. We waited anxiously for the ambulance to arrive, and I clung to Jay for support, about to pass out from shock, but Jay helped me calm down.

As the paramedics tended to Jungwon, my heart ached with fear for his well-being. Seeing him in pain was unbearable, and my thoughts were scattered and chaotic. Jay did his best to comfort me, but the trauma of the accident left me shaken to the core.

Eventually, the ambulance took Jungwon away, and the school was left in a state of shock. We returned to class, but my mind was still reeling from the accident. I couldn't focus, and tears welled up in my eyes as I thought about Jungwon's condition.

"Hey, Jungwon's going to be fine okay?" Jay comforted me while he wiped the tears from my cheeks with his thumb. "Let's get Jake and visit Jungwon later."

Even with Jay's comforting, the scene I had witnessed... It was just stuck in my mind. Why did that bar suddenly snap? I was so worried about Jungwon, I really hope he's done.

Heeseung's POV

As I was in cooking class, suddenly a group of students rushed past the hallway, shouting about an accident involving... Jungwon. Shocked and worried, I immediately followed them to see what had happened. When I arrived, I saw Jungwon in Jay's arms, clearly in pain. I hurried over and asked Jay what had happened.

"J-Jungwon broke his ankle during gymnastics class, the high bar s-snapped" Jay explained with concern in his eyes.

My heart sank at the news, and I couldn't believe what had just occurred. Jungwon, one of my closest friends, was hurt, and I felt a rush of guilt and fear. I wanted to know what had caused the accident, but my immediate concern was getting him to the hospital.

As Jungwon was taken to the hospital, a the thought struck me... the thought that this might be connected to Karina's "plan". I quickly searched for her and spotted Winter in the hallway. I asked her where Karina was, and she mentioned the health and nursing activity.

Without hesitation, I stormed into Karina's activity and dragged her outside. "Hey, did you do that to Jungwon?!"

And she brazenly admitted her doings "Hm, kinda. I only loosened the screw from their high bar. UmIt was an easy task. Aren't you happy? You can get Sunoo now!" I was filled with rage and pinned her against the wall, furious at her malicious actions.

"You!" I screamed at her. I then lowered my tone "I only told you to separate Jungwon and Sunoo you fuck, not hurt any of them!"

She smirked, "Oh, Heeseung, always so protective of your little friends. But I didn't do anything that wasn't necessary."

"Necessary? Are you fucking out of your mind?! You hurt Jungwon! Why would you do such a thing?!"

"HAHAHAHAHA, I knew you'd do anything for your friends, so hurting him was the perfect way to hurt you."

"You fucking- Jungwon didn't do anything to deserve this!" I said while grabbing her hair.

But she only taunted me "Oh, come on, Heeseung. You can't blame this all on me. You're the one who wanted him gone too, right? I'm just helping you achieve your goal."

It was true I wanted Sunoo and Jungwon separated, but I don't intend anymore than that. "That's not true! I never wanted anyone to get hurt. And I certainly didn't want Jungwon to suffer because of me."

"Well, it's too late now. He's hurt, and there's nothing you can do about it. It's your fault too, you know. If you had just let Sunoo and Jungwon be together, none of this would've happened." Karina said smirking

"You're wrong! What you did was pure evil. You're sick, Karina."

"HAHAHAHA Maybe I am, but you're not innocent either, Heeseung. You're just as manipulative as I am. Remember, Heeseung, you can't protect them forever. Eventually, they'll get hurt, just like you. Tsk." She said as she broke free from my grasp and went back to her class.

As she left, I felt a mix of anger, guilt, and sadness, I was left rethinking my choices and actions. The consequences of our actions were unfolding before my eyes, and I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of regret and responsibility. Fuck. What the fuck did you do Heeseung?
