Chapter 58 | S1: The Perfect Plan

Sunghoon's POV

As the bell rang, signaling the end of another day of school, I couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and anxiety. Heeseung's plan was set in motion, and I was about to play my part.

The earpiece in my ear crackled to life as Sunoo's voice filled my ear. "Hey, Sunghoon, just a quick reminder, you've got this. We're right here with you." Sunoo said while Heeseung cheered in the background.

I couldn't help but smile at Sunoo's words. It was reassuring to know that my friends were supporting me every step of the way. "Yeah... For Jungwon..." I whispered.

Heeseung's voice chimed in. "Just remember, our main goal is to get Karina to confess. Stay focused on that."

I nodded to myself, taking a deep breath to steady my nerves. I walked towards the gate, where I saw Karina waiting for me. Her smile was bright as she greeted me, and I forced a smile in return. This was all part of the plan.

"Hey, Sunghoon! I've been waiting for you," she exclaimed, her excitement palpable.

"Hey, Karina," I replied, keeping my tone neutral. I could hear Sunoo and Heeseung's voices in my earpiece, reminding me to stay composed.

As we pedaled to the mall, Karina started to get clingy, trying to loop her arm through mine. I allowed it, though my discomfort was apparent. Inside, we went from store to store, and I found myself buying her makeup and clothes.

I excused myself to go to the restroom, and once inside a stall, I talked to the two again. "Sunoo, Heeseung, I've done the shopping. What's the next step?"

Heeseung's voice was steady. "Good job. It's time to head to the bar. You'll need to get her to talk there."

"YAH! If you're talking to yourself you better use the disabled restroom you punk!" A man banged at my door.

I exited the restroom and rejoined Karina, feeling a sense of determination. We pedaled to the bar, and as we settled into a corner booth, the atmosphere changed. I could feel the weight of the moment, knowing that this was my chance to uncover the truth.

We were ordering and Karina suddenly asked, "Why are you so suddenly soft? Yesterday, I was shivering because of your coldness. I thought... You still liked Sunoo..."

Shit. I wish this earpiece was manually controlled. "I-I... I don't..." DAMN IT JUST SAY IT SUNGHOON! THIS IS JUST A PART OF THE PLAN! "I don't... like him anymore..."

"Oh! Is that so? Well that amazing!" Karina clapped her hands and chuckled while I was there contemplating my life decisions.

After some time, I glanced at Karina, who just finished her third bottle of beer, her cheeks flushed from the alcohol.

I took a sip of my drink and cleared my throat, trying to strike up a casual conversation. "You know, Karina, we've spent quite a bit of time together lately."

She looked at me with a playful grin, her words slightly slurred. "Yeah, it's been fun hanging out with you."

I nodded, taking a moment to choose my words carefully. "Karina... D-Do you... Do you want to play a little game?" I said after turning on the recorder on my phone.

Karina's gaze became thoughtful, and she swirled the drink in her glass absentmindedly. "Yeah I'm down!"

I leaned back against the chair, trying to maintain a relaxed demeanor. "Well, here's how it will go. I'll give a category, and let's tell our secrets about that categories. The bigger the secret, the bigger the chance you win."
