Sunoo's POV

Taking a deep breath, I stood in front of Sunghoon's house, my heart pounding with a mix of nervousness and concern. Niki stood by my side as he came with me from school to visit Sunghoon.

"Thanks for coming with me, Niki," I expressed my gratitude.

Niki nodded with a reassuring smile. "Anytime. Let's just hope Sunghoon is okay."

I knocked on the door, and a maid opened it. I explained that I was there to talk to Sunghoon. The maid, with a look of relief, said she'd inform Sunghoon's dad.

Sunghoon's dad arrived, and gratitude was evident in his eyes. "S-Sunoo... Thank you for coming. Sunghoon... He's been... he's been having a hard time lately."

As we walked to Sunghoon's room, his dad voiced his concerns. "He rarely opens the door or eats properly. I don't know what's been bothering him."

Reaching Sunghoon's door, his dad hesitated. "He might not open it. But let's try."

He knocked and shouted, "Sunghoon, Sunoo is here to see you!" A moment of silence filled the air, as if there is no person on the other side.

"Sunghoon," I called softly, my voice filled with concern.

We waited anxiously then *CLICK*, the door lock opened. Sunghoon's dad stepped aside, allowing me to enter. I opened the door, revealing a dimly lit room.

The room was quiet, and Sunghoon's figure was barely visible. He was sitting on the edge of his bed, facing the wall. I took a step closer, "Sunghoon..." I called out. The tension in the air was heavy.

Finally, he spoke, his voice barely audible. "What are you doing here...?"

"I came because I'm worried about you," I replied sincerely. "And I also wanted to talk to you."

He hesitated but he scooched away, allowing me to sit beside him. The room was a mess, reflecting the turmoil he was going through. I glanced at his disheveled appearance, a pang of worry tugging at my heart.

"Sunghoon, I'm sorry," I said gently. "Talk to me. Tell me what's going on."

I began to question him, my tone gentle but firm. "What happened between you, Heeseung, and Wonyoung?"

Sunghoon's eyes flickered with a mixture of emotions, but he stayed silent. I waited, giving him the space to gather his thoughts.

"Sunoo, I... I messed up," he finally confessed, a hint of remorse in his eyes. "And I didn't know how to face you."

"Sunghoon," I began softly, "I need to understand everything."

Sunghoon sighed, his eyes cast downward. "It started with Wonyoung. We had a history in high school, and when she saw us together at the booth festival, it triggered old memories. She confronted me, threatened to expose things from our past if I didn't comply."

I felt a pang of empathy for Sunghoon. It seemed he was caught in a web of circumstances beyond his control. "What things?" I asked gently.

His gaze met mine, a mixture of guilt and remorse. "I wasn't proud of who I was back then, Sunoo. Wonyoung knows a darker side of me, she knows that I have a basement full of her things. But the key for the basement, I lost it and I don't know where it went. The thought of Wonyoung having the key..."

The weight of his confession hung in the air, the key... the basement... For now, I'll hold onto that key. I reached out to hold his hand. "You now know what you did was wrong and you'll never do it again, and that's what's important. Sunghoon, I love you, but I just don't like keeping secrets."
