Sunoo's POV
I started my day like any other, getting ready and making my way to school. The first two classes went by smoothly, but as I approached the classroom for the third class, Chaewon intercepted me outside. Her expression was serious, and I could sense a hint of concern in her eyes.
"Sunoo, we need to talk," she said, her voice low but determined.
I nodded, feeling a sense of unease creeping up within me. We found a quiet corner where we could speak privately.
"What's going on, Chaewon?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.
Chaewon took a deep breath, her stare focused on me. "I wanted to warn you about Heeseung. I know that he's making a move on you, but please be careful."
Confusion washed over me as I tried to make sense of her words. "W-What do you mean? W-W-Why should I be careful...?"
Chaewon hesitated for a moment, her eyes searched around the area before saying "I can't explain everything now, but just trust me. Heeseung isn't who you think he is. I don't want to see you get hurt."
Before I could press for more information, the bell rang, signaling the end of the break. We exchanged a quick glance before heading back to class, leaving me with a whirlwind of thoughts and unanswered questions. Heeseung? He seemed very polite and friendly...Could he be hiding something...?
Later in the day, it was time for my first activity, singing. As I entered the room, I noticed that our teacher was absent. To my surprise, Heeseung, Jake were also there. And the boy from botany class Jame- Jac- Oh, Jay is there too. Heeseung's presence made my heart skip a beat, it's like I could feel him staring at me even if I wasn't looking. Would I still feel this way is Chaewon didn't warn me about him?
Jake then approached me, somehow making me relieved and relaxed.
"Hey Sunoo! I'm glad you have singing for this day too!" He said with a smile.
"I'm really glad you're here too!" I said, because if he wasn't there, my interactions would be awkward because of Heeseung.
"Ms. Kim is absent today, can I practice my song with you instead?" He asked, determination shining in his eyes.
Without hesitation, I nodded. He began practicing his song "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction, pouring his heart and soul into the performance. I listened intently, captivated by his talent and passion.
"What do you think?" Jake asked, biting his lips out of curiosity.
"That.....That was amazing! I could listen to your voice all day!" I said, complimenting his wonderful voice.
"I'd love to sing to you all day" My mouth seperated from a smile to a surprised one. Jake really knows how to flirt with people. My mind was occupied with Jake's raspy voice, it somehow made me feel in peace.
Heeseung's POV
As I watched Jake sing to Sunoo, a surge of jealousy coursed through my veins. The intensity of my emotions caught me off guard, and I found myself growing increasingly irritated. Sunoo's attention was fixated on Jake, their connection...undeniable.
I couldn't stand by and watch any longer. The need to assert myself, to make my presence known, overwhelmed me. I strode over to them, unable to contain the anger that simmered beneath the surface.
"What do you think you're doing, Jake?" I snapped, my voice laced with frustration.
Jake turned to me, his expression unyielding. "I'm just practicing my song, Heeseung. What's the problem?"
I clenched my fists, and-
"Heeseung? Heeseung!" I was sitting again....that was all an imagination. What the fuck.
"Yah Heeseung you good? The hell's wrong with you?" Yeonjun was asking me, patting my back in the process. I took a deep breath, trying to control my emotions as Jake continued singing to Sunoo. That Jake guy. I should've noticed it when he started flirting with Sunoo at chemistry class.
"I'm fine" I assured Yeonjun.
"Yea of course you're fine. Staring at a boy from afar for 3 minutes straight is totally normal" I looked up at him and broke my gaze at Sunoo.
"Shut up, let me rest" I said, scrolling through my phone to avoid the awkwardness. Yeonjun scoffed and started singing, practicing his voice.
Chaewon's POV
From the moment I heard that Sunoo and Heeseung were interacting, I knew I had to do something. I can't and won't let Sunoo get hurt. I stopped him from entering the classroom and talked to him privately, warning him about Heeseung but not telling the reason why yet. I don't want to be a friendship breaker, what if he changed?
Taking a deep breath, I reminded myself that sometimes, protecting someone meant making difficult choices and facing the consequences. I hoped that my instincts were right and that Sunoo would emerge unscathed from the complexities of his relationships with Heeseung and the others. I hoped that my words would be enough to protect him from potential heartbreak.
