Chapter 61 | S1: A Forthwith Trip

Sunoo's POV

I woke up to the sound of rain, groggily getting uo to close the window. The room was still dimly lit, and I could see Sunghoon's peaceful form still asleep in the bed.

As I stretched and got ready for the day, my phone buzzed with a notification. It was a message from our teacher, announcing that today's classes were suspended and we were going on a field trip to Gyeonggi Province on Thursday which is... tomorrow. I quickly read through the details, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation. It would be a great opportunity to explore a new place with my friends!

I turned to Sunghoon, gently nudging him awake. "Hey, Sunghoon, wake up," I called softly.

He groaned and slowly opened his eyes, blinking at me sleepily. "What time is it?"

I replied with a grin, "We've got a field trip to Gyeonggi Province tomorrow!"

Sunghoon's eyes widened as he fully registered what I said. "Oh, really?! W-Why so sudden, we barely have time to prepare!"

"I know right? But... well, I'm still not sure if I can come..." I knew mom and dad were already working hard to give me money, my happiness slightly faded away.

"W-Why...? There's no way I'm going without yo- I-I mean, the m- it won't be fun if we're not complete!" Sunghoon said.

I then video called mom "Hi mom! How are you?" I greetedt her.

"Oh we're fine here Sunshine, you should worry about yourself there! We already miss you." She said while chopping vegetables. She must have been preparing to open our soup shop.

I looked at Sunghoon for a second before speaking again, "Well there's this... Uh... Field trip... Our teacher said we're going to go to Gyeonggi Province and its kind of expensive..."

"Oh don't worry, you should enjoy your college life there! Don't be shy now, how much is it?" She said while she stopped chopping vegetables and went to their bedroom.

"It costs... 23,500 Won... But it's really okay if you can't afford it I promise!" I said.

"Oh, we can give it to you by Saturday! Is that okay?" She asked me.

"The field trip is actually tomorrow..." I smiled and chuckled to not make her feel bad but it's her smile which dropped.

"O-Oh is that so...? Well we can-" Before mom could finish her sentence, Sunghoon snatched my phone away from me. WHAT WAS HE THINKING?!

"Good morning! I'm Sunoo's friend." She greeted while I try to grab the phone back.

I heard my sister speak through the phone, when I was talking she was like a ghost then when Sunghoon spoke, she was even faster than a lightining.

"Oh hello Sunghoon, I see that you two are very close because Sunoo already let you come to his dorm so early." Mom said then chuckled.

"Yes, we're pretty close already and, I was thinking of paying the field trip for him so that he can come."

WHAT?!

My eyes widened as I heard what he said. Mom then spoke, "O-Oh, that's uh-"

"Did you know that Sunoo loves provinces? And he would really love to go to the field trip and that's so kind of you to pay for his trip? OMG lik-" My sister speaking when Mom covered her mouth.

"Well, aren't your parents going to get mad...?" Mom asked. I can't belive she's actually taking a part in this!

"Hahaha, it's fine Eomeonim." He said.
