Niki's POV

I woke up early at Jake's dorm, I bid goodbye to others as I returned home. It was still a bit early so I laid down on my bed before getting ready to go to school

*RING RING* I checked my phone for the upcoming call... It was my doctor's number. Fuck... I felt my heart racing with anticipation.

"Sir Nishimura, sorry for the early call but, you may have to come here thia day, we have an important matter to discuss." He said. I obliged and after ending the call, I couldn't sleep in nervousness and overthinking.

In class, I couldn't concentrate. My mind kept drifting to the upcoming doctor's appointment. When the bell finally rang, I quickly made my way to the hospital. As I sat in the waiting room, my palms were sweaty, and my heart was pounding. When the doctor finally called my name, I took a deep breath and went into his office.

"H-Hello..." I greeted nervously, my hand slightly shaking.

"Sir Nishimura, I have a good news, and a bad news for you." He said, does he think I'm fucking playing?! I decided to go with it anyways since he was really a good doctor.

"The latter..."

"..."

"You won't be able to... see us again..." W-What...?

"What?! What do you mean?!" I exclaimed, I started to feel my breathing getting heavier.

"Because the good news is, you're free from cirrhosis! Meaning you won't need to visit here again!"

"...REALLY?! THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH! H-HOW DID IT HAPPEN?" I asked, my curiousity peaking.

"Even us were surprised Sir Nishimura, but it was maybe the effects of you changing your lifestyle. Your immune system have been able to fight the disease off."

As the call ended, I jumped like a kid from excitement. I immediately went home and cursed at the fucking beer bottles that caused my suffering and even smashed some. I'm so happy, I'm so fucking happy. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, and tears of relief welled up in my eyes.

I couldn't wait to share the news with Sunoo, my best friend who had been my rock through it all. I rushed to his house, bursting with excitement. I told him everything about my health journey, and he celebrated with me, his eyes shining with happiness for me. But I think... I also had another reason to go to his house...

I really have to let this out... Sorry Jake...

Sunoo's POV

After a long day of classes, I returned to my dorm, looking forward to some relaxation time. Just as I was settling in, I heard a knock on the door, and to my surprise, it was Niki. Startled, I welcomed him inside, wondering what brought him here. I knew something was up, but I didn't expect the news he was about to share.

"Niki, what's up? You look a bit anxious... I-Is everything okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, Sunoo, I've been through quite a lot recently. I went to see the doctor, and you won't believe what he told me. Turns out, I've somehow recovered from cirrhosis," Niki revealed, and I couldn't hide my surprise.

"Wha- Cirrhosis?! T-That's incredible news, Niki! I'm so happy for you! But how did that even happen?" I exclaimed, genuinely amazed by the unexpected turn of events.

Niki shrugged, looking as baffled as I felt. "I have no idea. The doctor was just as surprised as I was. He said my liver has shown significant improvement, and it's like the cirrhosis never happened."
