Heeseung's POV

Slowly, I blinked my eyes open, greeted by the sterile, white hospital room. The memories of what had happened started to flood back into my consciousness. It felt like a nightmare, but I knew it had been painfully real.

As I tried to shift in my hospital bed, I realized there was someone laying their head on my arm. I expected it to be Sunoo, but when the person stirred and lifted their head, it turned out to be Jay.

He gave me a small, reassuring smile. "Hey, dude. How are you feeling?"

I cleared my throat, my voice a bit raspy. "Better than earlier. Where is everyone?"

Jay's smile faded, and he looked at me with a mix of concern and sorrow. "Sunoo had to go home. He wanted to stay, but his parents insisted. I also let Sunghoon, Niki, and Jungwon go home too."

I nodded, understanding that the other boys had responsibilities, and had to rest especially with the situation involving us earlier.

"And Jake?" I asked hesitantly, but it seemed like my ears didn't want to hear the answer.

Jay's expression grew somber. "The doctor said Jake is in a critical condition. We're all really worried."

I closed my eyes, taking in the gravity of the situation. Jake was like a brother to us, and knowing he was in such a state was agonizing.

Jay seemed to read my thoughts and placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry, dude. We're all here for you both. But you should get your rest as much as possible. We also already called your parents, they said they'll be going here after they're done with their work."

I tried to offer a thankful smile, even though my heart ached. "Thanks, Jay. I appreciate you being here. But you can go now too. Y'all still have school tomorrow."

Jay hesitated for a moment but then gave a nod. "Okay, take care of yourself, bro. Call us if you need anything, okay? This button right here, press it if you need assistance, a nurse will come." He said, showing me a remote with a red button.

I nodded, thankful for his concern. With that, Jay left the room, and I was left alone with my thoughts. The reality of the situation was heavy, but I knew I had to focus on my own recovery and, in some way, support my friends during this difficult time.

I was determined to see Jake. I pressed the buzzer for assistance, and soon enough, a nurse came into my room.

"Can I get a crutch? I'd like to visit Jake Sim," I requested.

The nurse hesitated for a moment, glancing at my medical chart. "I'm sorry sir, but you are not allowed to go out yet, you should focus on your own recovery sir, and sir Jake is still in a critical condition."

I knew that. But I couldn't sit idly in the hospital while my friends were going through their own battles. I had to see Jake.

"That's why I want to see him. Do you know who my family is?" I asked, trying to use the slight influence my family held without sounding arrogant.

The nurse thought for a moment and then spoke, "I-I'll get permission from a doctor sir..." She said then left hurriedly.

I waited anxiously. After what felt like an eternity, she returned with a crutch in hand. "Alright sir, you can now visit sir Jake. But take it slow, sir."

Grateful for her decision, I carefully took the crutch, got up, and began my journey to Jake's room. As I approached, I could see Jake's family gathered outside, including... Hanni.
