Lorenzo's POV
"Roseanne, why are you even this nervous. It's not like you are the one going through the trial with an old couple." I joked, holding onto her hand outside the court room. The trial is about to start in 15 minutes and now she's panicking.
"There's going to be people watching me." She muttered, looking to the side.
"Roseanne," I called her name again, her face turning towards me. "First of all, you're gorgeous, of course people will look at you. Everyone likes good looking people no matter how hard they want to deny it, pretty privilege is an actual concept for a reason. But at the same time, people who are in there will mostly be focused on the trial and what's happening in court. Even if they do look at you, it won't be for long."
"You think so?" She asked weakly, I gave her a firm nod in response.
"Now, would you like to sit with me up at the very front or do you want to sit with our parents, a row back." I asked and held onto her hands, which are surprisingly cold, I guess she really is that anxious right now.
"I'll sit with everyone else. Sit up there by yourself with your lawyer." She joked making me smile, well at least she could joke. But isn't the one who's supposed to be nervous is me, or rather so my lawyer since they will be doing most of the talking.
"Fine," I leaned in to kiss her forehead. "Relax, we'll be fine."
"I know." She whispered back in response, looking back up at me.
"Let's go in." I held onto her waist and entered the room with her, all the spectators had their eyes on us as we entered. Roseanne also noticed since I could feel her body tense up. I don't understand why she's so nervous though, she's absolutely gorgeous. "We'll win the case, I promise." I whispered by her ear as we walked to where she will be seated.
Giving each other a last smile before I went to the front and took my spot beside my lawyer, "You ready sir?" I looked over at him as he fixed some of his paper work.
"Always have been." I smiled back at him.
Not long after, the Judge entered the room as everyone stood up, "Everyone please be seated, except my jury of course."
Sitting down as I looked over to my left , the old couple sitting there looking annoyed and slowly glancing over at me. Well, you wouldn't have ended up here if you didn't attempt murder on a military general. Though I should still be grateful, I mean, they did save my life in a sort of way.
The court trial officially started, I didn't really pay attention to what people were saying, I was more concerned about how Roseanne is feeling even though I couldn't really see her. But the moment the judge asked for witnesses and Roseanne started walking up, the court went into a frenzy.
They were all staring at her, with adoration in their eyes. Why the heck are they even looking at her like that, I'm the only one who is allowed to stare at her.
She looked at me before stepping up on the stand and talking into the small microphone. "Good morning your honor, and to everyone attending today. My name is Roseanne Bartorio, and I'm currently the wife of general Bartorio here."
Currently? She's saying it like it's temporary! She is my wife and it's going to stay like that till at least one of us dies.
She looked over at me for affirmation as I just smiled lightly and gave her a nod, urging her to continue. She was hesitant, but continued on with her speech. Hair falling down her back effortlessly and eyes sparkling and she spoke.
