Two weeks had passed since his first encounter with Yuriko, or rather... Jun, but he couldn't get his mind off of how unusual it was. And in a good way.

"What are you smiling about?" Satoru teased "is it a girl?"

"None of your business" his smile grew wider as he remembered hers.

As he ate the bento she'd prepared, she told him about how she found each one of the kids that she took in. He watched her fondly do what she did. Her frail body doing all the heavy work seemed so unsettling, she needed those cursed spirits. It was the most satisfying breakfast he'd ever had. Delicious, calming, filling. Silence. Absolute silence. He enjoyed every second of it.

"Come on, tell us!" Shoko teased him even more "Where did you meet her?"

"There's nothing to tell" Geto just got up and walked away. He didn't want to tell anyone about it, she was the only person who seemed concerned about him absorbing curses like that. It was his special moment and he wanted to keep it to himself.

'Let me see what the curses are doing-'

One of them had been exorcised. His legs propelled as soon as it hit him. "Fuck!" He summoned his dragon cursed spirit and took off in haste.

"Geto san?" She opened to the door to his horrified face. He was panting and beads of sweat dribbled down his face.

"Jun chan!" He looked around the house as she let him in. "The kids??"

"They're still in school. They'll be back soon. Is everything alright?" She helped him sit and handed him a glass of water.

"A curse..." he said "one of them was exorcised"

"Oh" she guilty looked away "I accidentally exorcised it." She bit her bottom lip.

"Huh??" Geto almost smacked his face as he slumped on the couch. "I thought something happened here".

"Really?" She realised he could sense them "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to startle you. I'm sorry about your curse, I-"

"I'm glad you're okay" he had a small smile on his relieved face and she felt something flutter in her stomach when he said that. He looked so... soft.

And his hair. She was never into guys with long hair. Scratch that, she hadn't the time or energy to look at guys. But Geto looked so good. His calming face, his soft demeanour, his gorgeous face-

"Thank you" she barely managed a whisper, her face turning red.

"We're BAAAC- GETO SAN???" The kids were surprised and more than happy to see him again.

Tio was the first one to run up to him "you came back" he had tears in his eyes "I wanted to see you again".

Geto had a new wave of very unfamiliar emotions flooding him. Nobody said that to him. Nobody waited for him. Nobody cared enough to want to see him again, or even express it. He picked Tio up with an uncontrollable smile on his face "I did. I came back just for you, Tio."

Her heart melted a million times over. He was so soft with Tio.

"I'm sure you're busy and I'm sorry if we're holding you back" she finally said.

"I'm not busy today. How about I help you a little?" He didn't want to leave so soon. He felt welcomed, he felt needed, he felt... warm.

Geto reminisced how the kids reacted every time he went over to "help". They were already so dear to him. And Jun... she did everything so tirelessly, every single day. He hated how careless she was when it came to herself, how she put herself last every single time. But that small house was the happiest one he'd ever seen. Jun was more than beautiful and every time he saw her, his heart pitted a little. Every time her hand accidentally brushed against his, he felt the warmth tingle his skin. The small moments he felt with her made his heart soar, it was golden. He wanted to hold her small hand and tell her she'd never have to worry about anything, ever again.

"Suguru, where do you keep running off to these days?" Satoru broke him out of his happy reverie.

"Hmm?" He nonchalantly looked at Satoru with an annoyed face.

"Is it about that girl you were teasing him about??" Shoko asked Satoru who just shrugged without an answer. Geto wouldn't tell them anything.

"Tell us about her! Who is she? What does she do?" Satoru asked and Geto just brushed it off.

"Do you want us to look for ourselves?" Shoko raised a brow.

"How about we follow you one day?" Satoru teased.

"I'll kill you" Geto said with a blank face and it didn't sound like an empty threat.

Geto unlocked the door to her house and heard so much noise, it scared him for a second. The kids were all over the place.

"GETO SAAANN!" They cried when they saw him.

"What's wrong??!" He couldn't find her anywhere.

"She hasn't... come home yet." Haruto was trying his best to keep the others calm "We don't know where she is. Her... her phone's out of reach."

"What?" He felt his throat dry up. "Haruto! Do you know where she might be?!"

"She works at Shiro's in the evenings. I haven't been able to reach her since two days."

It was still two days too many for Geto. He turned around to leave, his cursed energy surging as he headed out. "G-Geto san?" Haruto was frightened "where are you going?"

"I'll bring her back," he said without looking back at Haruto, he didn't want the kids to see the look on his face.

Shiro's pub was in the middle of the bustling Tokyo downtown. Huge, grand and sleazy. "What a terrible place" he mumbled as he stepped inside, his cursed energy scaring a few guys in his way. When Geto said terrible, he referred to the people there. "Why on earth would anyone want to work here?" He looked for her.

His eyes searched for her until it landed on a girl behind the bar, "Jun!" She looked so weak and overworked. "The kids are so worried"

"Geto san??" She was surprised to see him there. "Ah, I think my phone died."

"JUN! QUIT CHATTING AND GET ON WITH WORK"

"Are you working?" She asked Geto and he shook his head "would you like a drink?"

He couldn't understand why she was so calm as his anger rose to his head, they were worried sick about her and she was trying so hard to keep her composure despite how tired she looked, pissing him off  "What I'd like is to know what the fuck you're doing here."

She was taken aback with how he spoke, she clearly saw that he was angry. "I can't talk, I'm working" she said as she poured a margarita for another customer, and before she could walk away, he stopped her, "Roku, on the rocks" he said.

"That's a lovely choice of gin", a girl sitting next to him said. "Mind if I joined you?"

"I mind", he was angry. She scoffed turning away, his attention on the girl in front of him wondering what ticked him off so much, "you didn't tell me why you're working overtime."

"JUN!" The manager caught her talking to Geto again. "Then why don't you tell me why she's still here?" His aimed his seething anger at the manager who stepped back, "b-because she... was rude to a big customer". Geto already didn't like the sound of that.

"What did she do?"

"She nicked his hand with a knife! He's a regular and a very big customer! He always comes here during her shifts to see her and she's so ungrateful! She'll work here until she covers his bill!" The manager complained and Geto sighed, his irritation only increasing with every breath he took.

"Jun..." he looked at her "what happened?", hoping for her to say something that wouldn't rile him even further.

"He groped me"

Geto didn't realise when or how his hand reached for the manager's throat before grabbing it with brute force.

He watched the manager's face go red, his anger was pulsing under his skin, "people like you shouldn't be allowed to talk."

"GETO SAN!" She tried to pull him away. "Please let him go."

"Jun" he looked at her with a small smile on his face "you should've slit his throat."
