*The events that led to Megumi and Toji's encounter*

Nanami Kento was not having it.

He lost the last bit of his sanity when he saw that Ijichi was wounded.

Nanami was quickly able to track down Haruta Shigemo, and beat him to a pulp. (Lord praise Mappa for the immaculate animation) He made sure Nobara and Nitta were safe before heading towards the Shibuya station.

Shortly thereafter, he found Maki and Naobito Zenin while entering the Shibuya Station and joined them in fighting a special grade curse - Dagon. Nanami thought it was the end for him when Dagon trapped him in its Domain and unleashed the endless stream of Death Swarm Shikigami which bit through his flesh.

Nanami had showcased excellent leadership and tactile qualities when Yuji announced to the world that Satoru had been sealed. He didn't respect Jujutsu sorcerers and he refused to acknowledge Satoru as a friend, but his respect for him was in abundance. He knew his end was drawing near, he knew he had to stop resisting at some point and give in to his death.

He thought about Yuriko; and how she forced him to acknowledge her strength. She'd grown so much as a sorcerer after that. She was kind to him even when he was mean to her, and when she simply refused to even consider the idea of leaving him behind during that one mission even though both of them were at a great disadvantage, his respect for her multiplied.

As he spent more time with her, he couldn't help but fall in love with her. He loved her soft laughs when he said something that wasn't even remotely funny, he craved for that warmth. Had it worked out for him, he would've married her without wasting any time. He fell in love the first time he kissed her, he'd kiss her endlessly. He would've traded anything just to wake up next to her every day, have a quiet life in the country side with kids. His love for her was so deep he couldn't help but think how blissful that would've been like.

Her face appeared in his mind and his lips curled into a gentle smile. He wasn't the most enthusiastic in life, he was dull and gloomy. He preferred it that way ever since Yu Haibara passed. He knew that the accumulation of small disappointments in life is what made an adult. He was okay with a normal death. He was okay with being normal. He wanted normal.

And he knew she was going to be disappointed if he just let himself get killed like that. He knew she wasn't his to begin with, but he'd never let her down.

Nanami sighed in defeat as he picked up his blunt weapon, "you're so stubborn, Yuriko."

Not long after, Megumi found the three. He infiltrated Dagon's domain with his own, saving Nanami and the others by creating an exit opening for them.

The three froze in their feet when Toji stepped through the portal and immediately engaged with Dagon. Toji ripped Playful Cloud (the three staffed nunchuck) from Maki's hands with ease. She didn't notice any cursed energy from him and was astonished by his strength. Megumi had no idea who he was or why he was there.

Megumi watched his father exorcise Dagon with ease, "please continue heading towards Gojo Sensei. I'll keep an eye on him."

Nanami also knew that it was for the best. He was betting on the theory that Toji wouldn't attack Megumi.

"Do not engage with him," Nanami said before leaving with the two.

(After which, Yuriko and Megumi encounter Toji and he kills himself)

Nanami and the others then came face to face with Jogo.

Jogo soon defeated Maki, injuring her severely, along with Naobito Zenin. Nanami was now the last man standing.

Maki was wounded with severe burns on her body and Nanami had no choice but to fight Jogo until one of them won.

Nanami fought like a true grade 1 sorcerer - smart, efficient and powerful. But he knew that his mortal human body couldn't not sustain severe burns.

Jogo left them for dead and continued his hunt for Yuji. After much deliberation and wondering what Yuriko would do in his place, Nanami pushed himself up and walked towards a concentration of cursed spirits, hoping to take down as many as possible before he breathed his last.

"Ohhh! I was hoping to run into you again."

Nanami stopped when he heard that voice, "Patchwork." It was like his pain had almost vanished.

Mahito was more than excited to engage in a fight with Nanami again. Mahito took advantage of Nanami's injuries and managed to cause significant damage to an already wounded Nanami.

"Is this... real?" A breathy whisper escaped her lips. Yuriko and arrived at the scene with Yuji and Megumi. She stared at the spectacle before her in sheer horror.

Mahito then turned to look at Yuji, his attention shifting from Nanami since he knew he wouldn't be able to move for a while, "THERE YOU ARE! I have been looking for you ev-" his excitement was cut short when Yuriko pulled him down by his hair, "YOU!" She'd turned feral upon seeing Nanami, and Mahito couldn't even sense her.

"Huh?" He looked up to meet her gleaming red eyes, his mind automatically imagining himself in the inescapable burning ember in the depths of her void.

She pulled him back when he tried to escape. Mahito transformed into a small boy before finally escaping from her grasp.

"Where are you escaping to... you weakling." She laughed like a maniac as she attacked Mahito.

Mahito had very smartly avoided encounters with Yuriko on several occasions. He knew that she could reduce him to dust with a single touch.

Yuriko was out of it. The devious cursed energy that enveloped her body even scared Megumi, Yuji and Nanami.

"Black flash."

Not a muscle there moved as Yuriko's black flash completely annihilated Mahito before she absorbed him with Geto's curse manipulation. She took deep breaths as the tension subsided. The rage in her eyes still boiling bright, "Kento Senpai..." but her voice was just as soft.

"Hmm?" He hummed as his breaths got slower and his body eased. Her voice rang like a sweet melody in his ears.

"You've worked overtime, get some rest." Her attention then shifted to Yuji, "please take Kento Senpai to Shoko san, get him treated soon."

Megumi's mind went blank when Yuriko looked at him next, "please bring me Maki and the head of the Zenin clan, I'll try to heal them."

Yuriko was going to pummel through Shibuya to find Gojo Satoru. As hurt as she was with the gory visuals before her, her sinister mind was happy with how she could put all her training and experiments to good use. She was excited to use all the tricks up her sleeve. She almost laughed when she realised that the entire playground was now hers to use; freely and without restraint. Her void was expanding and for the first time in her entire life, she wasn't ashamed of it.

"Yuji, where's Nobara?" She asked before he left, and his bitter silence answered her question, "I see..."

"The situation outside is being controlled by my curses." She'd released several more to neutralise the curses and transfigured human out on the streets, "it's manageable."

"What do you plan on doing?" Megumi was back with Maki and Naobito.

"I'm going to find that imposter...," she activated her reverse cursed technique to heal Maki.

"And pummel him out of Suguru's body."
