"MMHHHH!" Satoru groaned in satisfaction as he stuffed himself with the crispy pork gyoza. He almost cried with how good it tasted, "it somehow... tastes BETTER! you're the best bartemder everr!" His words slurred.

"You really need to stop coming to me every time you want to get drunk." She said as she expertly prepared another drink for him. She was used to him showing up at the bar randomly.

"But Yuri, you're the only person who can do this to me. Don't be so mean to me..." he pouted as his glasses fell to the edge of his nose.

"You know I've to extend my shift by a few hours just for you." She rolled her eyes but she didn't mean it, "I have kids as home."

She didn't really mind him. He did help her out back then and more than once.

"Oh..." a sad pout formed on his face and she felt terrible for poking at a drunk lunatic like him, "I'm joking. You can be here for as long as you like."

"You're such a pushover," Satoru said as he took a piece of gyoza with his chopsticks and held it against her lips, "eat", he said and she knew it was time to stop pouring him drinks.

"You haven't eaten anything yet, you've only been feeding me the good stuff." He sat upright "don't me say it again. You weren't like this when I first met you. You're a brat now."

She scoffed in disbelief before she finally ate it.

"I'm joking" he gave her a big closed-eye smile, "you've always been such a good girl, Yuri chan. I hope Suguru is taking good care of you."

"That reminds me of something, you two haven't met lately, have you?" She asked as she poured him a glass of hot water.

"No," this time he genuinely looked sad and she regretting asking an emo drunk boy such questions.

"I'll tell you something if you let me meet him", Satoru might've been drunk but he knew what he was talking about.

"Umm... I think I can arrange for that." She said.

"Good, because I don't know if I should ask or tell." He seemed at little hesitant and she narrowed her eyes at him.

"What is it?"

"I don't know if I should tell you about Megumi or if I should ask you why you haven't come to see him yet.", he took his glasses off, carefully assessing every single change in her expression.

"Who?"

Satoru clicked his tongue as he leaned back, a sharp exhale escaped his lips before he bit it, wondering how he could tell her. Because he knew that she'd be upset and ridden with guilt when she hears about him.

"Sooo... shortly after you left, I went to your village." His throat burned with every word and it wasn't the alcohol this time.

"And I found out that... you're a Zenin." He tried to carefully word his sentences, his eyes softly scanning her face as she listened to him with full attention.

"Much later, I also found out..." he spun his empty glass on the counter "that he married someone-" he heard her gasp softly. He hated doing this to her.

"And had a kid" he was basically forcing himself at this point and it made him nauseous.

"And his name is... Megumi?" Her fingers covered her lips as she looked at him in utter shock.

"Yuri, I'm sorry."

"I have a brother?!", worry soon replaced the shock in her senses, "where is he? How has he been?! Oh, I need to see him! Oh, please."

He didn't understand how or why she was so soft. "You're not mad?"

"At what?"

"That your father didn't even look for you after they killed your mom, and had another kid somewhere else?"

"I don't... I don't think I am" she tried to process her emotions. Her memories of Toji were very fond, but she'd never thought about why he didn't come looking for her.

He reached over the counter and grabbed the nearest bottle his arm could find before pouring some of its contents into his glass. He took the glass in his hand and extended it towards her, "I guess you need this more than I do."

"I..." her shaky hands took the glass, her eyes fixed on the drink inside but her mind ran places. She gulped it down before she had second thoughts and winced when it burned.

"Is he with Megumi?"

"No." His hand extended to hold hers "he's dead." That's all he could every say. He didn't want to tell her how or why he died. He couldn't bring himself to.

"Who is he with?"

"His step-sister. Their mom left and never came back", he said "they're both pretty young, I don't know how they do it all by themselves. I take care of them sometimes but..." Satoru's face turned sour "he was going to be sold to your family. I had to stop that from happening somehow."

"What terrible people! Oh, I wish I could've been there for him." She said. Satoru saw her eyes gloss a little. He remembered how she'd cry herself to sleep in that little shed when they were little and it stung him.

"You can... come with me to see him sometime?" That was the only thing he could offer her. He wanted to offer her much more but this was the best one he could think of.

"Really?? Oh, you're too nice. That's very kind of you" a stray tear rolled down her face as she excitedly expressed her gratitude, "thank you so much."

Satoru had a weird feeling in his body. Something new, something old. He couldn't quite put a finger on it but he knew it wasn't going to go away. His hand involuntarily reached for her face and his thumb gently wiped her tear away. He couldn't pull his hand back. She felt so familiar. She was his first ever friend and the nicest one when he needed it the most.

"Yuriko..." his voice dropped as his tongue searched for words. She'd frozen under his touch, she even mentally slapped herself for letting him drink too much.

"You really haven't changed one bit."
