Everyone in Jujutsu High already didn't like her. When Principal Yaga and the higher ups reluctantly agreed to allow her into Jujutsu High, it was only because of Satoru. They understood his reasoning and the consequences of her abilities falling into the wrong hands.

But at the end of it all, she was Suguru's girlfriend and they hated her. All of them.

All of them except-

"I was looking forward to seeing you here," Shoko said. She'd grown up from the last time Yuriko met her. She had longer hair and bags under her eyes.

"Hello, Shoko san," she politely greeted her.

"I'm sorry about Geto. He's a stubborn bitch," she pouted in dismay, she missed him too, "have you met Principal Yaga yet?"

"No."

"I see", she was lost in thought for about a minute, "the higher ups want you dead, thought I'd let you know."

"W-what?" She knew they'd hate her, but she didn't think they'd want her dead, "really?"

"Satoru..." Shoko saw him at a distance and called him.

"Oh, you two have met. That's good," he smiled, "at least you'll have a friend here."

"Didn't you tell her she was going to die?"

Satoru's smile dropped as soon he heard Ieiri, "why would I tell her that?"

"Because..." she paused for a moment before her eyes went wide, "you don't know?!"

"What do I not know?" Satoru knew the higher ups were doing something without him knowing.

"There's a bounty on her head" Shoko said "and the higher ups want her dead. I overheard them talking to Yaga Sensei."

"Ah, fucking hell!" He ran his fingers through his hair. "I reasoned with them so much. For what??! They even agreed."

"I don't think they ever planned on telling you that part."

"Do you want me to leave?"

"You can't leave now." Satoru scoffed, still mad at the higher ups, "let's go to Yaga Sensei, I'll reason with him. He's a little more level headed than the others. Come with me."

Yuriko thanked Shoko before following Satoru. She looked scared as she looked around, hoping to not get lost and he sensed it, "I'm always around" he said "call me if you need me."

"Thanks."

"Please call me if you need me" he repeated because he knew she wouldn't.

"I will." She whispered.

Masamichi Yaga was not even close to welcoming her, "we don't normally take in criminals-"

"She isn't a criminal, how many times do I have to-"

"She's with Suguru. She's probably going to continue what he wanted to do. And you want her here? You're giving her everything she needs."

"Sensei, she's not like that!" Satoru tried to reason with him, "I told you this already."

"And you want me to take your word for it? I'm not putting anyone in danger. There are children here."

"She has kids to take care of, too. She's not gonna do anything like stupid! We can't let the Zenin-"

"What makes you think I won't hand her over to the Zenin? It's more peaceful that way."

"You will not!" Satoru involuntarily raised his voice as flashbacks of her running away after her mother was killed, clouded his mind, "you cannot do that!"

"Why are you so unreasonable, Satoru. I-"

"I tried to stop him." Principal Yaga stopped when he heard her soft voice, "I really did." She looked so sad he almost succumbed and agreed to what Satoru said.

"You're not welcome here." He said before walking away "and you're putting everyone in danger."

"I'm sorry." Satoru said, "he'll come around. Don't give up just y-"

"No, I'm sorry" she looked at her feet. "I can't have you to go through this for me. It'll eat me alive."

"Yuriko, please listen to me. We'll let him sleep on this and-"

"It's alright." She said as she turned around to leave, "its fine."

Satoru held her hand and walked the other way. It was pretty dark already. He walked all the way down an empty corridor and opened the door. "You'll stay here with me tonight."

"Please don't-"

"You'll be here so I can keep an eye on you."

"Why don't you just let them kill me?" She looked at her fingers, "isn't it better for everyone?"

"You're needed here and you don't understand that yet." He said, "but you will very soon. And for that, you have to be here."

He walked into the bathroom to take a shower, giving her the space she needed. She'd gone through a lot in a short span of time and as much as he wanted her there, he also wanted to let her have as much time as she needed to cope with all of it.

And when he was back, she was gone.

He went to check up on the kids. They were gone, too.

His blood boiled as he searched for her everywhere. He was sure he felt her presence there. He quickly realised how good she was at concealing her presence.

He cursed under his breath as he walked all the way to Principal Yaga's dorm. "She's fucking missing, I hope you're happy now!"

"She left?" He looked at Satoru.

"Of course, she did! You can't give her a break!"

"Why are you so impatient?" Principal Yaga asked him and he instantly realised how worked up he'd gotten.

"Fuck" he closed his eyes. He was having the same reaction he did many years ago, when she ran away from his estate. He hated that feeling so much that he didn't realise how he reacted to it. And when that feeling came back flooding, it scared him just the same.

"Do you really want her here?"

"You don't understand, do you?" He said, "I promised her that she'd be safe here. That the kids would be safe."

He couldn't tell Principal Yaga about the promise he'd made years ago. The promise he fully intended to keep. "How do I tell you that she's the only person who can kill me? If Suguru really wanted to kill me, I would've been dead by now. If anyone gets her before we do, we're fucking done."

He stormed out with Principal Yaga right behind him, worried out of his wits "why didn't you say any of this before?!!"

"I didn't want the higher ups to know." Satoru sighed as he stopped "Fuck! I don't know where to find her."

"She attracts a lot of curses, doesn't she?" Principal Yaga said and Satoru's eyes widened. "Go find her and bring her back. We'll deal with her-"

"Nobody's dealing with anything." Satoru stubbornly said as his eyes sharply glowed, his voice falling to a lower register with every syllable that fell out of his lips, "You don't want it, do you?"

"I'm keeping it."
