Yuriko was furious. She wouldn't talk to Satoru. And her hormones made it so much worse.

"I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am." He massaged her feet as she looked away with a small pout on her face, "then don't."

"Baby, I'm so sorry. I truly am. I apologise for being that way, I got a little jealous and I shouldn't have asked you questions like that-"

"Stop talking." Was all she said. She wouldn't talk to him and it bothered him to no ends.

"Will you please eat? You've been starving yourself."

"I can't eat, I'll throw up".

"But you can't not eat, my love. You need nutrition", he sighed, "both of you."

"Wow," she chortled, "now you call me that."

"Sweetheart, I'm so so sorry. I'll do anything you want me to" he said, "other than leaving, so don't ask me to leave. I'm not leaving."

"Great!" She got out of her bed and walked out of the room.

"Don't move!" The kids were helping her out so much, her eyes teared "no, please don't do all this, you'll hurt yourself."

"But you're supposed to be resting," Hana gave her a small hug. "Tio said shouldn't be doing all the work alone."

"Hana, my baby, I'm only pregnant not dying. I'll be just fine. What do you guys want for lunch?"

"Tio and Megumi are making Shoyu Udon!" She said, "Nobara and Yuji are making Tonkatsu."

"They are? That's so sweet. Let's go help them." She held Hana's little hand before peeking into the kitchen, "did you two burn something?" She said and they stiffened before vigorously shaking their heads. They knew very well that hiding the evidence wouldn't work with Yuriko.

Satoru watched her interact with the kids and wondered how she was a natural. He, on the other hand, sucked at it. Kids repelled from him as soon as he opened his mouth. He was exceedingly worried with each passing day. Worried that he'd be a bad father and an even worse husband.

"We told you to get some rest!" Satoru's train of thoughts were broken when he heard Megumi. She was hurting again, "I'll be fine!" She winced.

"Come on," it was Satoru's cue to interrupt them, "Ieiri said this one will be painful so I need you to stop running around like you're not preg-"

"I can take care of myself just fine, thank you."

"Please stop talking." Tio winced at her reply.

"No, you can't."

"Nope."

"You look like you'll pass out."

"Mama, you look sick."

The kids weren't taking her side either and she wasn't happy. The last person she wanted to talk to was Satoru.

Satoru shut his ears from everything that she was saying and picked her up before heading back to her room, "you can swear at me all you want, I'm not leaving."

He watched her turn away in her bed and laughed softly.

"What's so funny?" She grumbled.

"You're so cute pregnant." He joined her in her bed, "do you want some of my cursed energy?"

"I have plenty."

"Are you sure?" He gently moved her hair to the side before kissing her neck. "You can take whatever you want from me."

"Anything?" She asked.

"Anything."

"I want strawberry ice cream."

He smiled at what she said, he'd do anything for her. "Wait here." He said before grabbing his wallet, "I'll be back in a minute."

He watched shitty shows with her in his arms as she ate the ice cream, "this is so good, thank you."

"I had them made fresh just for you, sweetheart." He kissed her face.

"Thank you." She wasn't as angry with him anymore.

Satoru traced his hand over her bump as she watched TV and dug into the ice cream tub, something didn't feel right. A baby so tiny wasn't supposed to have cursed energy of that sort. His worries multiplied when he felt it against his skin. She had to keep dismantling it every couple hours or she'd be in so much pain. "Baby, I think I should stop going to work for a while and take care of you."

"You can't stop working, you'll go crazy," her eyes were still fixed on the TV and she wasn't as nauseated anymore.

"But I want to be here for you."

"Of course." She said, "and then you'll also ask me whose child this is. I've had enough of you."

"I'm so sorry." His voice almost died, "I'll make it up to you. I'm so, so sorry. That was unwarranted and you didn't deserve that."

"I know."

Satoru looked at the velvet box in his cabinet. He stared at it every single day. He knew she'd reject him straight away. He knew she deserved better and he was going to be better for her. He held the box in his hand and opened it. It was the most beautiful ring he'd ever seen. He even sat down with the jeweller to design it himself. He wanted it to be perfect. He was scared for so many reasons. One was that she'd reject him. Another was that she'd hate the ring. He wasn't sure if she'd like a 6 carat pink Argyle diamond on her finger. And his biggest worry was of the diamond was too large for her finger.

"Fuck," a breathy curse escaped his lips, "how do I even go about this?"

"That's a very beautiful ring." He paused when he heard another voice, "I love pink!"

"Aiko..." he turned around in horror. Nobody had seen that ring yet. He didn't sense her since she wasn't a cursed energy user and with how engrossed he was in looking at the ring.

"What are you doing here?"

"Well..." she smiled wide, "oh, you can't see it from this angle, can you?"

His nerves began freezing when he got an idea of what she was saying. When she turned to the side to reveal a bump, his face turned pale.

"You see, Satoru..." she walked closer to him and grabbed the velvet box, "you should treat me well."

"And you better break up with her now." She gasped when she opened the box. It really was the most beautiful ring she'd seen. He quickly took it back from her as his breaths began growing shallow. He was scared out of his mind.

"Come on, you need to treat me better." She put her arms around his torso. "Toruuuu, I want pizza."

"What the fuck are you doing here?"

"Well, I'm going to live here with you." She snuggled against his chest as his face drained of colours.

"After all, I'm having your baby."
