Over a year later

Yuriko was at work. She hummed to herself as she cleaned the glasses, knowing how busy the bar was going to get in a while.

Suguru went over to her place often, he loved seeing the kids. He visited her workplace when he missed her too much, it had been a long time since they'd started seeing each other and he couldn't wait for her to finally agree to move in with him. He sat at the bar so he could spend time with her, even had a few drinks so he could stay for longer. Suguru had texted her that he'd be there by 4 pm but it was way past 4:30.

She took her phone out to call him but it was swiftly taken away by someone she didn't recognise. "Huh?"

"Geto said he'll be late and asked me to keep you company", it was a tall, muscular guy with a huge scar on his face, "I'll have a cosmo."

"C-Can I please have my... phone back?"

"No, you cannot." He gruffly said "I'll have a cosmo".

"I need to c-call Sug-"

"I'LL HAVE A COSMO!"

"Okay" she knew she could always fight him if he did something shady.

"Don't even think about fighting me, I don't mind killing children", he laughed as she watched him in disbelief. Her hand trembled as she poured him his glass of cosmo, with half a mind to poison it.

She backed all the way to the shelves behind her when he leaned closer to the counter, "I told you I won't do anything to you until he shows up".

"What do you want?" She mustered some courage.

"That's between me and him. But I'm enjoying myself here knowing how restless he'll get once he knows that I'm here. And with you." He had an evil grin on his face as he watched her fidget the glass in her hand "He's got good taste, I'll give him that."

She didn't want to wait around for Suguru to come save her every time, but she didn't like how he held the kids to ransom in having her back down.

"You have your cosmo. Can I get my phone back?" She looked him in the eye and he didn't like it. He threw his glass at her which she effortlessly dodged.

Geto reached her place of work with flowers in his hand. He knew he was late and he couldn't wait to see her, but he couldn't understand why a few people ran past him as he walked inside. He froze in his spot as he saw a familiar figure throw his chair at Yuriko. The bottle on the shelves behind her shattered and she ducked covering her head, shards of glass covered her as the whole place fell silent.

"Sakibara!" Geto's heart dropped to his stomach. He didn't understand how he found out about Yuriko or where she worked, but he understood two things. That Sakibara was here for Geto and that he wanted him dead.

"Ohhh! Look who's finally h-"

Geto's brawny hand held the back of Sakibara's head, smashing his face on the bar counter before jumping over it and reaching for Yuriko.

"Are you alright??!" He dusted the glass off of her as she looked at him in relief.

"What's happening?"

"I'm sorry. He hates my guts".

"I'm going to lose my job"

"No, you won't." He held her hand "come on, you have to punch him for this. I'm surprised you didn't fight a weakling like him."

"He said he'd hurt the kids."

"Did he now? What a meanie" Geto pouted, "I'm here now. You can punch him all you want." He pulled her up and fixed her shirt. "I'll be right behind you, baby. Nobody's going to hurt the kids."

"Promise?"

"Cross my heart."

"Umm... he has my phone"

"Go get it. I'll be sitting right here." He patted her head, already sat on the barstool "you have enough and more of my cursed energy." He said, helping himself to the bottle of gin on the table.

She walked up to Sakibara as Geto poured himself a drink. He took a tissue and wiped Sakibara's blood off the counter before resting his elbow on it, "what a lovely glass of gin", he hummed as he heard Sakibara scream for his life.

"You'll hurt my kids?"

"I'm sorry I didn't know-"

"Now give me my phone back."

"You're too nice, Yuri", Geto watched him jet out of the doors.

"I got my phone back." She said as she got behind the bar again, like she hadn't almost killed a person. The manager was too scared to tell her anything, let alone fire her. Geto's curses helped her clean up the mess at the bar as he sat watched her with a smile on his face.

"Oh, I almost forgot" he paused before reaching for the flowers he'd gotten for her "I'm sorry I'm late."

"You didn't have to!" She almost cried with how cute those lilies were "I know you're busy and it's alright."

"I'm glad I brought flowers for you today. You deserve it. You did so well, Yuri. You're very strong" he praised her as she giddily shook her head "it's your cursed energy."

"And you wield it like a natural." He laughed "pour me another glass, please?"

The manager thanked Geto for saving the bar. He waited for her until the end of her shift. "Let me walk you home." He wrapped his arm around her with a warm smile on his face but deep down inside he was shaking in fear. He wanted to walk her home after what happened earlier.

"Have dinner with us," she said.

"Only if you come back with me to the monastery tonight."

"I'm coming to see you tomorrow."

"But you looked so hot today I don't know if I can wait until tomorrow."

"What's on your mind?"

"I've been meaning to use that new pair of handcuffs I bought."

"Handcuffs?!"

Geto fell silent for a minute, lost in thought. She thought he was genuinely thinking about something useful until the most atrocious thing she'd ever heard, fell out of his mouth, "But why would I need to use handcuffs when I have curses that'll do a better job?"
