As Calypsa was about to lead him into the phoenix shaped building, Xia dropped right in front of them.

"Don't tell me you want to join House Prometheus. Oh I can't wait till your Zodiac Hell persists."

Calypsa groaned. "Don't scare off all your new recruits. At least let him stay until House Erebus is restored."

"After what he and his parents did, I'm glad it never got remodeled," boldly proclaiming. "Also," starting a circle of fire around his legs, "Vena and Vital want to finish their hunt, and he needs to pass initiation!"

"You burnt my leg and I did an obstacle course of fire! Isn't that enough?"

She turned back to Calypsa. "Unless the professors and Principal Lumin make you his peer mentor, there's no way he's staying under my roof."

"Calypsa, you'll be his peer mentor," Professor Delta said to them the next day after the other students left.

"Why," Xia interjected.

"He scored the worst out of everyone while your grades show a sign of negligence of your own studies. Tidal agreed as well."

"Can't he live literally anywhere else?"

"Principal Lumin said with the potential Void attacks, it makes more sense to house everyone into the fraternities. Unless his affinity changes, I don't see the issue."

As she sucked her teeth, Sehki tried blowing off the flames forming from her fists.

"Either way, Calypsa, he's behind by a lot. His success depends on you."

She saluted. "Sir, yes, ma'am!"

"Sehki, don't waste this opportunity."

"Understood," whimpering as he received his grade. "I haven't scored this badly in a while."

She took him back to the house after a grueling day of class, now beautifully bespectacled.

"Your Trologyast knowledge is really low, dummy. Still, I expected worse," shrugging and smiling. "At least your knowledge on the constellations ain't too bad. How many can you name off the top of your head?"

He pondered, guessing the 13 Zodiac, Aquila, Chamaeleon, Cygnus, Draco, Lupus, Musca, Pegasus, and the Ursas.
"Twenty-two out of eighty-eight. For someone who lost their memories, not bad at all."

"Thanks, I think." Feels like she's half insulting and half praising.

"What made you so interested in Ophiuchus though?"

"I dunno. My brother and I used to watch shows I'd find with the school wifi, and there were a few that had characters use the constellations and two of them had Ophiuchus be the main twist villain but we didn't learn much about one of them. I thought it'd be nice to have them as a hero for a change," gazing up at the stars. "It'd be fit for a demon king like me."

She lit up, leaning dangerously close to his face "You were a demon king?"

"It's more of a nickname. My brother would get bullied a lot so when he didn't want to go to school anymore, I would cut school to find out what they were doing and scare the crap out of them," smiling.

"Since then, I kinda used it to prank and mess with bullies. I'm not an artist, but the clubs in middle and high school really helped get a lot of people off our back," laughing. "Caused the teachers and mom a bit too much trouble," recalling when Shonda warned him to never go too far.

"Making a costume out of cardboard and paint for us to go around Halloween. Spraying water on the girls who'd slut-shame Val, frightening the dudes that would bother the deli owner that gave me extra when Flint needed lunch. It wasn't fun, but for him, Val, and Shonda, I'd do anything for them."

When he looked up, Calypsa wiped a tear off her eye.

"You did that all for your family," before leaning down on top of him. "You really are the same Prince dumb Prince."

His cheeks started rising, but focused to answer a simple question.

"Why are you helping me? Aren't you closer with the other heirs?"

She paused, lowered her head, and smiled.

"True, but we were just close back in the day. Sides' it's not like you all can't rule together," as her breath caressed his cheek. "That's just all up to you."

"Well, I don't really want to rule, I need to get back home."

"Why?"

He told her the jist of what happened before he arrived. "I don't know if I can use this Starlight to go back in time, but I need to find out if he made it out okay, and let the authorities know. Gerald went too far," as water poured from his eyes. "Calypsa, is there a way I could get the Starlight quicker?"

She scratched her hat. "The staff are allowed to use it and certain higher ups, but it'd take a crap ton of it to use it to breach space and time enough to go back to another dimension. If you stole enough from the heirs, then maybe it'd be easy for them to do so, but you'd have to convince their parents to do so."

"Lumin mentioned an appeal. So I just have to convince the government I'm not dangerous enough to use it?"

"Basically. I think it was your parents who continued the trend of having your royal inheritance be dictated by your education performances. Didn't want you all to grow up spoiled and rotten."

"Yeah, I don't think that worked out all that well with the others. I guess that means I just have to pass."

"Well freshmen year, and get through the Mightatholon. Think of it like a physical competition to determine your physical capabilities as king. Anyone who fails both gets expelled, and it'd not be a good look on any heir. Granted, Rigal and Taylor don't care but they'll remember the hard way. But in terms of public opinion," sighing, "you've got an uphill battle to climb."

"What did my parents and I do that was so bad?"

She took a deep breath, asking him not to freak out.

"Your parents were accused of housing Voids, and trying to murder the other heirs. An outbreak nearly killed all of you and your kingdom."

Sehki's eyes widened in horror, concerned and desperate for answers.
