Calypsa took the professor's ear, and whispered, leading to the two arguing. "Solom!"
"Fine," rolling his arms. "I guess that would cause too much suspicion." He rose up to meet the young man. "The name's Solomon Tyson. A pleasure to be acquainted with you! Do you still suffer from flatulence overload?"
"Occasionally, it doesn't hurt as much nowadays."
"Take this then," handing him food but lacing it with a potion. "It'll transform that into a less foul aroma."
"Thank you," chowing down. "Professor Tyosn, did you know my parents? Where are they really going to use the Voids as weapons?"
He slapped one of his desks in laughter. "Please, your father couldn't even hurt a Musca without being careful," lowering his head. "Your mother on the other hand."
Calypsa pinched his cheeks. "He's joking about that last part. Maybe."
Maybe she was the Iron Widow while he tried to be a Paragon, chuckling. "Nice to hear from someone else. My parents were complete monsters."
"Don't listen to that nonsense propaganda. Obviously your parents were killed to cover something up. The other lords really thought getting rid of one of you would make things easier to fight the Voids. So, what can I grant you help with?"
"The place I was taken to," putting out his phone, "has at least one person I know that's alive that I can reach out. Texts probably won't work, but if there's a way to connect me back there, I want to see if there's someone I can reach."
"Hmm," pulling out a case of Starlight. "It should be possible," ripping off a piece of clothing and getting his confirmation that's where his clothes were from, and typing on his keyboard. "Octans! Starlight! Merge!"
A smaller portal opened up as two wires touched his phone and burned clothes. "Target the last known internet connectivity of his nearby location," throwing a tracking device through it. While waiting, he reached for Sehki's phone, making quick adjustments, yelling Sculptor. In a matter of minutes, his phone looked much sleeker and stronger, but he was handed an extra one.
"Shugoda Metropolis' terms of service doesn't respect anyone's privacy regarding their products. I've adjusted it so your phone will be untraced since its source isn't from here. But to ease suspicion, use the other one when contacting anyone from here. That'll create a copy signal I replicated to trick the main servers.
"I appreciate it Professor. By the way, why are you working so isolated from everyone," nothing this laboratory looked more like a house of a man who hadn't cleaned up in years.
"Because those god ego fools started a propaganda war against The Three Precepts, so I had to play the villain to get them on my back," pointing to his wanted poster. Don't worry, when the next big bad Void attack happens again, my friends and I will have quite the backup plan," laughing maniacally. "They'll be begging for forgiveness soon enough."
A little eccentric, but he means well. Kinda like me.
"Before you go," handing him some weighted training gear and a photo. "Calypsa warned me you were super unprepared. The gym's safer, but if you don't want to be around those arrogant quartet's echo chambers, use these to help you at the dorm."
He turned the photo, and it was a baby photo of him, and a good look at his birth parents. The man had a large frame, long dark hair, armor, and a jovial smile, holding up their child. His mother had a regal appearance, arrow marks on her face, and free form, yet regal dress, and next to them was the professor.
"Now I wish your future wife and that other unnecessary vague ally," getting his mouth covered by the young lady strangling him before he tapped out. "As I was saying," getting her to back off, "will push you, your parents knew you were going to be an extraordinary kid growing up one day."
"You and Calypsa, remember, you'll only stop the threat of the Voids with your biggest assets. That'll strengthen your power, not just your magic," snapping open a portal to get them out, but not before handing Calypsa some medication. "I can't stay in one place right now, but you'll hear from me sooner than later."
Calypsa waved bye, taking Sehki out of the portal to a different part of the city than usual, knowing he was curious.
"Nullshade magic can be used to track the DNA signatures of certain creatures and StellArts to grant them safe passage against the Voids via a one way portal. He has to keep moving since too much of its essence can be tracked down if you're not careful."
"There's a connection to Starlight?"
"One of Xia's ancestors in Fenghuang Saiban was a Draco user and a bit too polyamorous. During a Void attacks, she had worked with the others to create Continuum Dracos magic through her children. The five of them were able to help them construct different magics that could be stored and used rather than being exclusive just to them."
"Oh wow, so Starlight and NullShade were two. The other three?"
"Hydroclear allowed them to transport clear and purified water to stop the Voids attack. SubStorm allowed us to transfer original fae magic that granted us flight to allow for deep space exploration. And SolarFlare generates enough energy to power potentially a whole continent, which they used for time to set up new sources of power."
"Huh, they almost sound like they work better to build new places to live."
"Funny you should say that." Her voice grew more serious. "I might as well tell you that-"
A large crash interrupted her. Outside, the two heard screams of terrors from a large center. People were running away and fleeing, prompting them to arrive at the source.
A couple dozen of Voids, Vodivoks and Constains were amok.
