While Calypsa joined the heirs, Sehki dived down, slipping through the shadows and finding his speed increased when using shade from any nearby environment or person, searching for a particular person.
Xia may have shown a shred of empathy, but she's still last, I can't beat her just yet, Rigal's next to last, Taylor's second, so Ainsley's the first. If I want to get through them, first up is there!
Sven and his group pressured Candy, hurling pressured spit and earth magic. She blew out a breath of ice and used a shield of dirt to make an earth barrier, only delaying the inevitable when they struck her in the chest and legs. Falling to the floor, Sven snickered, unleashing his stingers.
The sound of his peers screaming made him turn around, finding all of them on the ground and dropping that smile, unable to fully move his legs. "What the stars?"
"Good to see you again, Fly Boy," Sehki said, pouring the smallest amount needed to allow Sven to see his head.
"You dare? I'm a member of the Tellus Asylum heir's Inner Circle!"
"I.e. a coward hiding under his master's status. And you're just as weak," he teased.
"Bring it," firing blasts of acid Sehki was forced to lunge and swerve, laser focused on him. "Don't defy me! I will stand side by side with the next leaders of our genera," crashing straight into a tree.
Sehki detached his shadow, pivoting with a flying knee strike slamming him back into the tree before dropping a heel kick into the stomach.
"Don't hurt Candy just because your heart is sour," conjuring flame from his shadow to burn off parts of Sven's clothes. With barely others around, he piled the entourage on top of each other and put their fists on each other's faces, making it look like an internal group conflict.
Hearing others approach, he leaped over to Candy and sank both of them to escape to the library, pulling them out in an empty aisle.
"Gotta get used to that," massaging his stomach while she had goosebumps over her shaking face, too afraid to open them. He teased her with a "boo," only for it to make things worse.
"Alright then, Candy, open your eyes, I'm trying to ask you something!"
Her throat sank. "S-sorry sir. Do I know you?" He asked her about any cameras in the building she denied, leading him to show a picture of himself. "You're alive?"
"Or a ghost back for vengeance, debating. Long story short, the heirs tried to kill me, so I'm going to drag them through the mud. Why are Ainsley and Sven turning on you?"
"It's a long story."
"Shorten it."
"Ainsley's kingdom has these tests to see who has strong bodies and abilities. Before you sign up for Celestial, they check everyone's health and demand those who have an Earth Zodiac to support the monarch, or they choose you."
"You refuse?"
"They feed your magic power for research. It's mandatory so they could make stronger natural bodies for the future."
"The hell, they're feeding off you!"
"Ainsley stopped for a bit but they started acting so cruel, our art professor's so cruel during our training and Bodin's acting meaner too. Now Sven's been bullying people who tried to leave the dorm. I tried to leave, or ask them to stop," sniffing while the tears dropped. "But."
He covered her face with his chest. "It's okay, you'll be okay," he whispered.
Her tears went down his shirt. "I don't wanna be here anymore! I have no friends, my brother's still in jail, mom and dad lost their store."
Sehki gave her more time to grieve until she dropped to her knees.
"I don't know what to do."
He wiped off her tears with his gauze, raising her chin up.
"You won't be doing it alone," bowing to her.
"I want your help. Not to use, abuse, or harm you. I want to put their egos in check one by one, and make a home here for people who have nowhere to turn to. You want the suffering to end and just be yourself. Please, you're the best person I can ask for."
Her eyes shied away. "I-I don't know. I'm just an Ursa Minor."
"Hey, I just figured out my StellArts. But I met a Ursa user who helped save my life. I have a brother who I couldn't save. I don't want yours to find you like this."
"I'm not as strong as him."
"But," seeing her belongings and picking them up. "You have your own strength," spotting her fashion designs. "I see now, that's why Ainsley chose you!"
"My dress ideas?"
He nodded. "Their parents may have stuck to that mantra, but they wanted people who's just as artistic as them. If Ainsley's been acting out of character, we're going to rewrite it."
"But where do we start?"
"We'll knock some sense into Bodin. Then you'll distract the art professor while I do the same for Ainsley. If they're the symptom, we'll be the cure. You in?"
"I-I'll do my best," pumping her fists.
After exchanging numbers, both of them found Bodin about to head towards the Pastors of Pluto. She called out to him.
"What? We're not here to play around!"
Sehki's shadow snatched his body up as he ran towards the Shadowscald woods, throwing Bodin in there. He got up, facing Candy.
"What's going on?"
"Bodin, please can we talk. Ever since Professor Gorgon started training us, we haven't been the same."
"I have no idea what you're talking about. Ainsley needs their Inner Circle to be as strong as themselves and the other heirs."
"But look at you!"
Sehki saw Candy's point. Bodin's body was covered in scars, the inner corners of his eyebrows raised. The colorful remorseful person he met was the exact opposite than from before.
"I'm fine," pulling out a brush as a snake popped out, biting his neck, changing his pupils to pupils as sinister energy made the two cover their eyes.
"And I'll turn you two into a masterpiece!"
