Sehki let his group know the good news, finding the three of them all combat ready.

"What's going on?"

"We woke up and made a list of training activities for the next two months."

"Hold on, aren't you guys going to go home?"

"Mom and dad found out the clothing store they went to was destroyed so they're going to repair it and build an apartment for us above it. It'll take some time to set up."

"Well it beats my old place in Shugoda."

"Lore?"

"Well Sena promised to visit her mom for a change, and she said I should get stronger if I'm going to take over dad's agency."

"So we're staying over for CAP season. Let's get started!"

Without warning, Cree whacked the air up with his staff, spinning it around until he created a massive tornado he hurled at Sehki, yelling at him to ride the walls while he spun around dizzy.

"Heads up next time," recovering to find Lorena stretching her limbs around the trees, creating a cage that trapped him inside with Candy.

"Hold on, I am not beating her up!"

"And I'll do my best to beat you," blowing up frozen bear claws around her fists.

He formed shadow claws, forced to box with her for what seemed like forever while Lorena forced herself to hold on until they were tired, leaving all of them drained.

"Can we take a break?"

"Later," picking him up and stretching him high into the sky, spinning him around. Dizzy, he slipped out with his shadow, forming it into a hang glider trying to parry her rapid attempts of punches as he descended, landing on top of her. Both struggled to get up.

"Please stop saving me from high falls."

"Hey, it's like the bullying you got, except we're actually training to help you fight your bullies."

"Haven't I been bullied enough for one year?"

By lunch, he snuck out to get food for everyone, flying back to Professoe Scaldwave's office, who had his material covered up.

"Just for fifteen minutes, try to fight me hand to hand."

"Got it," igniting his fists and trying to box his teacher, who's flames overpowered his own, now having to dodge his fists and use water to try and burn them out, accidentally creating steam into the process. The narrow space between his dodge and Scald's fist out the white smoke left him stunned until he saw the flame fade, going in for a kick.

Which was promptly blocked. Blowing himself back with air, he bounced off the air with a flame-shadow claw and fire fist respectively. His teacher weaved the heat off the former into his other hand, matching his dark claw blow with fierce intensity, pushing the young student back.

"Try and repel this," thrusting his palms unleashing flamethrowers Sehki tried to push back, barely able to make them curve as his Shadow Claws endured the damage, barely able to add them to his own fire.

"Wait, so there's residue from magic! If I can block or parry the attack, I could enhance my own or nullify the damage depending on the element!"

And he got punched away for his troubles.

"You can't leave yourself open, your opponent can always find your blind spots, you should know this, under hound!"

"Under hound?" Like under hound. "So I have to work twice as hard to rival the over hounds."

"Precisely," creating a giant steam crater in the shape of a broken cup. "The Canis siblings used this frequently, and it's possible Xia can manifest it."

"Right," figuring out with her fixed and mutable signs she could create a phoenix aura or armor around herself with strong power to make up for her lacking shape. "I'll have to keep close and make her drain stamina."

"You'll get there. Let's end it for today."

With classes resumed, Sehki spent more time into his corporeal form following Cree around as Lorena and Candy acted as his guide, heading into the wind course. To their surprise, Rigal was attending the classes while his Inner Circle was barely able to pay attention, acting bravado with their injuries on clear display.

"You!?"

"Oh hey. We're on the same side against the Voids, so no need to fight. Rigal, if you ever wanna go from a chicken to a monarch, I could help train you too."

The heir sucked his teeth. "I don't need your help."

Though the "new kid to campus" trope hardly ever applied in college, some did take note as the guy responsible for fighting and bringing light to the Herdsman attacker Lorena was quick to promote on the new account she was given access to, seeing Sehki's persona and Cree's actions growing their cult status.

Even if she was the only one to think his arrival plan was tacky.

Throughout the remainder of the year, they began different strategies:

Candy began making faster ice projectiles for Lorena to break, smash, and throw for Sehki and Cree to try and dodge.

Cree made all three of them spar with him at the same time.

Lorena practiced converting the water magic from her mouth throughout her hand to fire them faster and making an earth helmet to cover her face to cover her more head smashing attacks. She started testing Sehki's speed at combining shadow and water to make wider fluid movements after showing him the footage from his water tower stunt.

Professor Scaldwave began having him practice his Cardinal skills with fire and shadow to make better constructs against his scalding water and fluid flames, seeing if he could get close.

Sehki and Candy put their brains together to help Cree mold ice constructs that hit hard to make up for his lack of finesse compared to her, including adding ice to extend with his spear.

The four of them started races through the forest to improve their mobility, Sehki trying to hold his shadow into a surfboard, Lorena swinging with all her limbs, Candy making slightly bigger steps of ice to jump onto, and Cree using his staff less.

Towards the end of December, school was about to go on break, which they used to unwind.
