Chapter 65: Dark Waves

The government figures reluctantly agreed to join forces. The Cetus user deactivated their power, running and jumping off the rooftop to conjure the whale aura and slam Taylor down into the dirt.

The buffed up heir flipped over, stopping their feet from dragging through the pavement and growling, leaping with such speed she could barely react in time, forcing her to have it bite them.

"How unsanitary!"

She grunted, the grasp of her fingers mimicking the animal struggling to hold as Taylor began lifting up the top lip with crab arms.

"What on Umbra? Men, fire!"

The trio of Coastrosity soldiers fired hydro elemental cannonballs the Invoid captured in his hands, boosting the size of his fists and jumping free, climbing up the nose.

"Oh no you don't," Sehki threatened, jumping on the whale's back and slamming Taylor away with his shadow. The ocean heir screamed, summoning geysers of fish with the aura of Voids flying at the two forces.

"One, four, ten, we can't stop any of that!"

Sehki's eyes ricochet for a solution. "Quick, Argo Trio! Can you fire Ms. Cusp Cop at them? Ma'am, spin around while you target them!"

"Can that work?"

"No time to think about it," watching some of the fish turn back to where the production crew had stayed sheltered, shutting it off and having Sehki throw her in the air. The moment she summoned the whale aura, the Argo blasted her up into the sky. The weight of her spin created a vortex swallowing in most of the fish for the Navis to fire the flying fish into fried food.

Sehki jumped into the Argo Navis' cannon, letting them know of his quick plan. "My StellArts can possibly free him but I have to get in really close!"

"Even if you can , you can't stop a Void like that alone!"

"I have to try!"

"Alright," barking orders at the Cusp officer. Taylor jumped, firing a geyser from his hands up and turning his hand into a swordfish to pierce the giant whale.

She shut it off, watching Taylor's shock as her aura reformed, capturing him in the teeth and swinging their head to hul in the path of the Argo's cannon.

"Fire!"

Covered in his black silhouette, Sehki was rocketed out of the nuzzle, charging Taylor's body into a skyscraper.

"Taylor, wake up!" He smashed a lake out of him. "Would you want your parents or any of your babes and friends to see you like this! If you want to be an actor, be the hero that saves people from the voids!"

He reached for the bite marks, using his shadow to extract the corrupting influence and free Taylor from his torment. He snatched out a plum of the Voids magic before the hostile manifestation of vile blasted him.

The power of his shadow protector blocked the damage before facing the torrent from the storm season he couldn't avoid, destabilizing the skyscraper he stood upon and leaving him helpless.

A woman kicked through the tidal stream with her stretchy legs, catching him by the waist.

"Hold on tight," Lorena claimed, closing her eyes, taking a deep breath, and yelled Capricorn, creating mountains out of the rubble, using the weight to swing back at her leader in the face as she swung him back to the officers.

His face was red. "You came?"

"I forgot, you're more accustomed to women pushing you instead of saving you," chuckling.

He sucked his teeth. "It's only a recurring metaphor! Are you really trying to flirt with me now?"

"I mean you're the one who asked me out and beat up my dad's attacker. I should at least make sure you get home safely."

"Touching. What is your StellArts anyway? And you've got Zodiac magic?"

"Huh? Oh Camelopardalis, the Giraffe. Normally you just stretch your neck and your element creates a protective wall around it, but I trained my body to channel its power with any body part. I unlocked my Capricorn Zodiac StellArts but I've scratched the service of what it can do."

InVoid Taylor punched a human sized hydrosphere at them. He formed his shadow into a straw for her to drink the whole thing and fire it out of her mouth at the building, knocking rubble onto the mutated adversary's body.

"Not bad, throat goat."

"And you're saying I'm the flirt."

"Ack, sorry. Did I do this with Val all the time or is Calypsa running off on me?"

"You two were much closer than her media presence suggested."

"Huh?"

"You never saw," asking once they landed back on Argo Navis. She showed him pictures of Calypsa putting him in uncompromising situations, including the times she trained, caught him tired and pinning him to the wall, with captions of her making it sound like she was physically harming and bullying him.

"Hold on, those are taken out of context!"

"So your relationship was more intimate?"

"Alright I admit it, I was kinda starting to fall for her a bit, but only during our first date."

"Of how many," raising an eye.

"Two. Both of which had Taylor trying to drown me," spotting the Cetus officer fighting him off. "I guess the pattern continues. And here I am fighting Voids the same way."

"Well it was your strategy that helped us stop the Corvus that gave Taylor and me a struggle, so I guess it all worked out. Take the good with the bad. You've gotten stronger since then."

"You think so?"

"Yup. I don't trust Calypsa at all, but you got through this far partially through her. I get wanting to learn why she stabbed you in the back like that. I'll help, but you're doing good for a guy who calls himself the Demon Prince."

"Well hey, if she was using you to be queen, all you gotta do is become a king and choose someone better to be by your side. At least I wouldn't mind for now."

He snickered. "Is this your application?"

"Well our date isn't over, and I've made sure you haven't drowned yet, haven't I?"

"When you put it like that," while their shelter was being attacked. "Capricorns are Earth signs, but your spit counts as water, right?"

"That's why I'm a Water Major. Capricorns can maneuver through ground and ocean terrain and Camelopardis can use their spit as a medium."

"The range of the water he surrounds his body in is wider, but we could use a harder fluid to stop it. Think you can put merge the elements into mud?"

"I can try," channeling the energy to mix the two. "First time I've ever wanted to get dirty with him."

He formed the cannon in front of her mouth to fire through, confident they could win.
