Warnings : Mentions of self-harm
(Y/n)'s Point Of View
I woke up to the sound of soft rhythmic knocking on my bedroom door. It took me a few moments to peel myself out of bed, dragging myself out from under my warm duvet. Rubbing the back of my hand against my eye, I opened my bedroom door tired before leaning against the frame as my eyes began to focus on my visitor.
Eventually, my blurred vision finally cleared enough to make out raven hair, thus suprising me enough to focus my eyes on none other than Choso.
"Oh, Choso! What time is it?" I asked with confusion. Usually, I walked up long before the others and judging by the ruckas from down the hall, they were weirdly indeed all awake."10am." Choso replied stoically, making my eyes widen in shock. I rushed towards my bedside table and checked my digital clock. It was indeed 10am. I had 'slept' for 7 hours. If Choso hadn't taken me, I may have not been able to wake on my own. It was getting worse.
"Woah...I'm sorry. I-uh must have accidentally slept in." I replied sheepishly as I returned to Choso who still stood by my door. But Choso was barely focused on my words, only my hands. I looked down with furrowed brows only to realise that I still had dead roses clutched between my fingers. I gasped before dropping them in the bin- as if that would erase the fact that he already saw them. That's when his eyes flickered to the bin that had three more bouquets of dead roses beneath this new one. I gulped as I followed him gaze for the second time.
"Uh- I'll be down in a second to make breakfast, okay?" I reassured quickly with a forced smile before attempting to quickly close my door. Before it could slam shut, Choso pushed his boot forward, making the door halt immediately. My eyes widened as I slowly looked up at the man.
"C-choso?" I asked nervously."Why do you continue to lie about this?" Choso then asked darkly, making my eyes tremble as they began to sting. I shook my head softly, my eyes pleading.
"It's not what you think it is, Choso." I told him, my voice begging him not to pursue this any further.
"Then what?" He asked seriously, unrelenting. My breath hitched, my voice getting caught at the back of my throat.
"I..." I trailed off, unable to continue."(Y/n)~! Are you awake yet? We're all starving! You're our only hope!" I heard Mahito cry out from the living room, making me sigh in relief at his impeccable timing as Choso looked to his right, making eye contact with Mahito. The curse did have his uses.
"I'll be just a minute!" I called back, using this distraction to quickly close the door before Choso could react.I shut the door before I could even see Choso's reaction. Sighing, I leaned my head against the door with relief. Hopefully, by the time I was done changing he would have given up and gone back to the others. I gulped as I turned away from the door and made my way to the bathroom. I quickly washed myself up and fixed my hair before making my way to my wardrobe. I chose a simple crop top and leggings before making my way to my door again.
I opened the door with confidence, only to jump back with suprise when I realised that Choso was still there. I whined lightly as I took a step back.
"Choso, seriously? Why won't you let this go?" I cried out softly, desperation in my voice. Choso shook his head lightly.
"Yesterday you absorbed the life of that tree." He muttered out, making me freeze in place."Your cursed technique allows you to absorb life and ommit death, correct?" Choso then asked, making me speechless. I gulped, my heart thumping uncomfortable, being unable to confirm nor deny his theory.
"That would only mean that you use these flowers to heal yourself every night. Why else would you need to heal yourself if you're not..." Choso trailed off with confusion, the part he left unsaid somehow loud and clear.
