3rd Point Of View

"I...should probably get washed up and start making breakfast now." (Y/n) mumbled, forcing herself not to react to Choso's words. She gulped as she stood to her feet once again.
"Kechizu has probably started making a fuss by now." She added, knowing the only way she could get through to Choso was by bringing his brothers into the conversation.

Assuming that that would do the trick, she took a step forward and began heading to the bathroom. But for she could get any further, Choso lunged forwards rapidly and grabbed onto her wrist. (Y/n) but the inside of her cheek as he held her back, not turning around to face him. He'd managed to distract her for a good ten minutes, allowing her to talk about her past. But that's all it was. A distraction. It was very easy to remember reality and succumb to her bubbling emotions.

"I think I might bake today." She whispered, her head dropped down, her hair covering her eyes. Choso looked at her with pity, hating how she was acting.
"No, you do not need to make anyone breakfast. You are allowed a day off." Choso told the girl sternly, making her smile weakly. She told the same thing to him once, the day they met- that he could take the day off from being with his brothers.

"You're sweet, Choso. But honestly, I need this...I need a distraction." The girl told him truthfully, turning on her heel to face him. Her eyes were pleading, making Choso's resolve weaken instantly. He couldn't fight her on this.
"Then... I'll help you." The man told her, suprising himself when he spoke. Him? Baking? Was he being serious?

"You'll help me...bake?" The girl echoed slowly, as if he'd spoken another language to her just now. Choso nodded, unable to find any words that would confirm his wishes because he himself was in disbelief that he'd just suggested that he'd help her bake.
"And have you ever stepped foot in a kitchen before, Choso?" The girl asked with a raised brow, turning to face him.

"No." Choso admitted slowly, unable to make eye contact with the girl. (Y/n) let out a small amused laugh before nodding at Choso. This could be fun, she guessed- or at least a hell of a distraction. Just what she needed.
"Alright then, you can be my assistant." The girl finally agreed, making Choso sigh out with relief.

"But I'll have you know that I'm a very harsh head chef- Gordon Geto Ramsay, if you will." She joked out, smiling, though it did not reach her eyes.
"Gordon...Ramsay?" Choso trailed off in confusion, making (Y/n) laugh again, a fake one that made Choso grimace.
"Nevermind, anyway. We're gonna need to catch you up on modern day-" Choso zoned out as she forced herself to smile and joke around, babbling on about things she did not mean. He hated it.

"You don't need to do that." Choso then said, cutting off her fake laughter.
"W-what?" The girl asked in confusion.
"Pretend." Choso told her, "If your smile isn't real, I wouldn't like to see it." With that, her charade faded, her smile dropping untill her face was blank and her eyes empty- showing how she truly felt inside.

"How could you tell?" She asked softly.
"When you really smile...I get this feeling in my chest. That is how I know." Choso admitted. It was more than just a feeling. It was life fire dancing through his viens, like butterflies in his lungs.
"You're ceceptive, Mr Kamo." (Y/n) joked bitterly, suprising Choso.
"You know my last name?" Choso then asked her.

"I figured it out after you told me about your blood manipulated technique. I happened to know another member of your clan back when I was a sorcerer." She explained dully as she turned around, making her way to the bathroom.
"I'm going to wash up. I'll meet you in the kitchen in half an hour." She told him, making Choso nod in understanding.
"And Choso?" (Y/n) then called out, making his eyes perk up.

"I promise not to fake a smile with you when we're alone...but I can't promise the same when were around the others." She then told him, making him knot his brows together with bafflement.
"Why not?" He asked her.
"My smile- real or not is the reason this house hasn't crumbled to the ground yet." She told him numbly. Choso wanted to say something about that, about how her happiness should come first. But as she walked into the bathroom, he opted not to.

Choso bit the inside of his cheek as he walked to her bedroom door, opening it as he planned to make his way to his own room. But before he could take a step out of her room, he was stopped in his tracks by the sight of a sobbing blue haired curse, blubbering as he choked on his own sobs. Mahito looked up at Choso with tears in his eyes, overwhelmed with sadness as he said,

"(Y-Y/n)...w-was assulted?"

(A.N ~ Ik people hate Mahito, but like it's like my life mission to make him likeable in this book.)
