(Y/n)'s Point Of View
"I said you do not belong fighting blindly beside your brother. Not that you did not belong beside anyone else."
His words echoed repeatedly in (Y/n)'s head untill it was engraved across her mind. Those words held so much meaning, so much depth. But the one word that clung to her was 'blindly'. Did that mean that there was something that she did not know yet about Geto's plan? She never really did try to learn more about his plan because it honestly disgusted her. But she knew the foundation of his ideology and that was more than enough to make a few guesses.
(Y/n) was speechless, unable to reply to Choso, her lips parted with suprise.
"(Y/n)? A word?" A voice called out from behind her, making both her and Choso turn their head to face Suguru.
"Y-yeah, I'm coming. Give me a second?" She asked, making him nod and take a few steps back, giving her an additional moment alone with Choso."I-uh, need to leave now. Is that okay?" She then asked him nervously, gulping.
"Yes, I will be going out with Hanami soon anyway." He told her, suprising her. She wondered what Hanami would do with Choso. She didn't see the two of them with anything in common, really- but out of everyone Choso could befriend, she thought Hanami was certainly the best choice.
"That's great. Hanami is very trustworthy. I won't have to worry about you then." The girl joked playfully as she stood, Choso nodding."And yet I will still worry about you..." Choso mumbled to himself as the girl walked away, her not hearing his admission as she got closer to her brother who waited patiently by the patio doors. Choso watched her walk away with concerned eyes, narrowing his eyes at her brother.
"(Y/n), come and take a walk with me." Suguru told her motioning over to the pathway that leads out of the backgarden into the forest. That was the benefit of living at the edge of Tokyo, being surrounded by nature. (Y/n) nodded looping her arm around her brother's as they walked.
They walked in silence for the first few minutes, admiring nature as they got further and further away from their estate building, no longer in earshot.
"I've been thinking about your issue with Gojo a lot this morning..." Geto began, "and the more I think on it, the more I realise that something must have happened to trigger his sudden interest in you."That made (Y/n)'s eyes widened slightly, gulping as she kept her gaze on the floor.
"Up until yesterday, there was no hint to him even having the knowledge that you were still in Tokyo at all. So, is there anything that you're not telling me, (Y/n)?" Geto then asked the girl with a raised brow, already knowing the answer. The girl coughed nervously, avoiding eye contact, making Geto sigh."You were watching him again, weren't you?" Suguru accused, making (Y/n) purse her lips together and look up at him sheepishly, with guilt in her eyes.
"Are you mad?" The girl asked softly, making him sigh softly.
"No. I know that you cannot help yourself. You miss him." Suguru told her, understandly."I don't miss him! He killed you!" (Y/n) lied, her voice loud and defensive, making her brother chuckle.
"You can be furious with someone and miss them at the same time, (Y/n)." He told the girl, making her drop the defensive tone, shrinking back.
"But I don't want to." She whispered, "This would all just be so much easier if I didn't miss him."Suguru pursed his lips, wrapped his arm around the girl's shoulders comfortingly, pulling her in closer to him as they walked down the pathway of the forest.
"I know, kid. I know." Suguru mumbled, ignoring the frustration that gnawed at his insides. This would be so much easier for him if she just hated him for good. Maybe there was a way he could achieve that?"Don't you miss him too? You two were just as close as I was with him." (Y/n) asked softly. She'd never spoken about Suguru's friendship with Gojo with him before, always too scared to bring him up out of the blue. But she was curious.
"I used to... sometimes, when I first left the sorcerers. But now I don't. I'm far too focused on working towards our goal to worry about something so insignificant as the past." Suguru told her, (Y/n) choosing to ignore the 'our goal' part."Friends come and go, (Y/n). Focus on what you have now and what you want for your future." Suguru added, making her nod slowly in thought. She had many friends now and one that was particularly on her mind a lot was Choso...and what she really wanted was more of Choso in her future.
"And so that is why we are going to ignore Gojo's attempts to contact you." Geto then told her, making her gulp. That was most likely going to be harder than in sounded. Gojo was stubborn.
"I still need that curse today, so I'll send you to retrieve it now rather than later to avoid Gojo. But after this curse, I'll hold off on your missions until Gojo gives up on searching for you." Geto explained to the girl."Okay." She nodded, understandingly.
"And in the meantime, you won't go and watch him again, will you?" Geto asked with a raised brow making her sigh.
"No." She promised, her shoulders deflating. Still, Geto didn't believe her.
"(Y/n)." He added with a warning tone.
"I really mean it this time! I won't!" She whined, truthfully meaning those words- but only because she promised Choso the same thing."Choso said something to me the other other day...that Gojo's drowning me, and the only way to stop drowning is to get out of the water and stand nowhere near the shore. So, I'm going to do that." (Y/n) told her brother, suprising him that Choso managed to get his own sister so confident on a decision that he himself could not achieve. Choso had many uses it seemed.
"That is beautiful advice." Geto agreed, making (Y/n) smile softly, her eyes drifting off as her thoughts became clouded by a certain half-curse.
"I'm not against it, you know." Geto said suddenly, making his sister look at him with slight confusion.
"Against what?" She replied baffledly.
"You and Choso. I think he is a great match for you." Geto admitted with a smile, making (Y/n)'s eyes widen with embarrassment."W-what are you talking about?" The girl stammered out, no longer walking.
"Well, he's calm and collected and so he balances out your energy and excitement. Not to mention that he is smart and assesses all choices and outcomes before figuring out what to do, therefore being able to talk you out of stupid decisions- something that I evidently can no longer do. I approve of him." Suguru admitted casually with a nod."I..." (Y/n) didn't know what to say, speechless, her cheeks burning red.
"Are you going to lie to my face and tell me that you don't have feelings for him, (Y/n)?" Geto asked with a raised brow.
"Because if that's what you plan to do then you'll have to give me a few moments to search for an expression to put on my face that suggests that I believe you." Suguru told her with a deadpan, making her sigh in defeat."It's just that...Choso is a cursed womb spirit." (Y/n) began, suprising Geto.
"I didn't think that would be an issue for you." Suguru replied nonchalantly, making (Y/n) realise how her words sounded out loud. She gasped, shaking her head immediately in denial.
"No! That's no what I meant at all!" She began defensively, "I just mean that...cursed spirits aren't exactly known for their ability to fall in love- and I know that he's half human too. But how am I supposed to know if he's capable of liking me back at all, Choso isn't widely known for his emotional outbursts. It's a 50-50 chance that he can have romantic feelings at all!"After her ramble, Geto began chuckling, laughing at his own sister's naivety.
"Have you seen the way he looks at you, kid?" Geto asked his sister with a raised brow, watching as she became confused, tilting her head. She was so naive, not noticing the way Choso has been looking at her since he first arrived. Choso treated her differently to everyone else and only she did not notice. If the two were to once day become an item, forming a relationship, that would benefit Geto greatly.
"Huh?" She asked softly, making Geto grin before saying,"I believe he's more capabile of romance than you believe, little sister. I can see it in his eyes."
