(Y/n)'s Point Of View

Mahito and I warped back to the estate the moment it hit 1pm. Apparently Junpei's lunch break was over and he had to get back to school. I was disappointed to see him go, after being able to connect with him so much- and it hurt me to know that he was going back into the den of vipers, where he was getting bullied. Maybe one day I can pick him up from school and introduce myself as his girlfriend? That would surely get him popularity, right? And the more popular you are, the less bullied you will get.

"Hey, guys!" I beamed as I walked into the living room. Only cursed womb spirits were present, Eso playing a game of Shogi against Choso as Kechizu munched on what I hoped was jerky. Choso immediately looked up at me expectantly after hearing my voice.
"You're back." Choso announced, making me smile and nod as I sat down on the floor infront of him.

"Yeah, Junpei had do go back to school." I told him, only realising that he didn't know who Junpei was when his eyebrows began furrowing in confusion.
"Junpei?" He asked me lowly.
"He's a kid that Mahito's friends with- well, not friends exactly. More like Mahito's new toy." I told the man bitterly. He always done this. He got obsessed with a human who had potential, only to make them into puppets a few weeks later.

Choso seemed relieved at my explanation, nodding slowly before looking me up and down.
"You seem...better." The half-curse noticed, making some smile and nod.
"Yeah. I feel a lot better." I hummed.
"I see." Choso replied, looking at me intentpy as if he was trying to see if I was faking it. I giggled softly.

"You don't have to worry about me anymore, Choso. I'm okay now." I muttered softly, smiling at him. He seemed didn't seem convinced after a few seconds, not replying, so that encouraged me to continue speaking.
"I spoke a lot with Junpei today. He made me realise that since I've already let Gojo go, nothing he does can hurt me. He is part of my past, not my future." I mumbled.

"You always say that he is drowning me, and I think today I think I finally managed to get out of the water." I told him gently, making his brows furrow.
"I see." He mumbled. I guess it was only natural for him to be so confused after seeing how I was this morning. But I wasn't faking a thing. I felt free.
"I feel lighter, Choso." I whispered, making him nod hesitantly.
"I'm glad." He replied, sounding relieved.

My eyes flickered to Eso as he moved put away the pieces of the Shogi board. It was then that I turned my attention to the sofa, seeing something wrapped in a little purple ribbon sitting beside Choso.
"Hey... what's that?" I asked him curiously, leaning my head up so that I could try and get a better look from where I was sat on the floor. After my question, Choso's eyes also turned to the item at his side.

He picked it up slowly, unveiling what looked like a bouquet of flowers. My eyes widened as he held it between his palms, gulping as he avoided eye-contact with everyone.
"Flowers?" I whispered shyly, making him nod slowly, embarrassed.
"Yes..." Choso explained, "I've been informed that chivalry is dead. But I've decided to pick you some flowers anyway."

My cheeks flushed pink as he handed me the bouquet. I couldn't help but giggle when the bundle of orchids were in my hands. How did he know orchids were my favourite flower? The bouquet was beautiful, and the smell of the fresh orchids made it even more magical.
"Thank you." I giggled softly.
"I've...never given a girl flowers before, and Hanami once mentioned that I needed to offer you a gesture...and since you were very distraught this morning, I thought these would be acceptable." Choso told me quietly.

"Wow. I feel so special." I laughed, holding the flowers close to my chest.
"I wasn't sure if this was the correct way to begin courting a lady, so I took a risk." Choso told me, making me pause.
"C-courting?" I stammered out, my face turning completely red. Choso simply nodded as if it were not a big deal at all.
"W-we're talking about the same word, right? It meant the same thing back in your era, right?" I stuttered.

"Yes." Choso confirmed with a nod. "I've been wanting to do this for a while." The man admitted to me. After a few moments of shocked silence, I giggled, covering my mouth as I did
"Do you...have any objections?" Choso asked me hesitantly. My lips parted in awe for a few moments before I shook my head, smiling with content.
"To you courting me? No, court away." I laughed shyly, making Choso look down, smiling to himself happily.

And it was that smile, that made being a curse user worth it.
