CHAPTER 50

NIKI'S POV

Niki was running a lap for practice with his teammates. It was just a normal Monday again. A big game was coming up soon and everyone was was being on their A-game. He ran another lap too before finishing up.

"Nishimura! Come over here for a sec." His coach called out.

Niki turned around as soon as he heard his name.

"Ooohhh!" His teammates teased as if he was in trouble. Niki just laughed it out as he approached his coach.

"Yes, coach?" Niki asked in curiosity.

"Walk with me." His coach instructed. "So remember the training program in France I was talking about?"

Niki closely listened and nodded his head.

"Well, they watched your last game and they're really interested in flying you out next semester."

Niki's eye widened. "Wait, you're serious?" A smile appeared on his face.

"Yeah, so it's a year training in France. It's intense but it's a good experience, especially if you want to go pro. They'll be able to offer you good guidance." His coach further explained.

Niki was over joyed. He couldn't believe he was recognized by a scout. He didn't really know if he could have a career in soccer but it seems that he's doing very well. The feeling sunk in as he realized he would be leaving for a year.

"Just let me know what you decide, you have month to think about it." His coach patted his shoulder. "Congratulations." His coach said before walking away.

Niki breathed out as the smile on his face slowly faded away.

He walked back to the locker room to wash up and change. He was supposed to meet up with Eunchae before class starts. He left the locker room with his gym bag and made his was to the library to meet his girlfriend.

Niki makes it to the library and sees Eunchae sitting down on one of the desks. He just stared at her for a quick second. He didn't know if he should bring up the news or not.

Eunchae looks up and sees Niki. She flashes his the biggest smile and waves him down to sit down with her. Niki tries to smile back and heads over to her.

"How was practice?" Eunchae asked as she watched him sit down across from her.

Niki rested his elbows on the table and started to crack his knuckles. "It was good." He replied.

"What time do you get out today? We should get something to eat with Jungwon later." She said as she packed her stuff away. "Niki?"

Niki spaced out for a little bit. "Oh! Uhm yeah." He said snapping out of it. All he can think about was the offer. "I haven't seen Jungwon lately." He said trying to play it off.

Eunchae noticed him being a little off but decided to brush it off. "Yeah, I texted him. He said he's coming." She said before standing up to walk around to Niki.

She grabs his hand. They both exit the library hand in hand.

"I'll walk you to your class, then I'll pick you up as soon as you're done, okay?" Eunchae said to Niki.

Niki looked at her and just nodded and smiled. "Okay." He brings her hand up to his lips and kisses her hand.

JUNGWON'S POV

Eunchae: hey stranger! Dinner with us later?
Jungwon: what time?
Eunchae: after Niki's class so 6:30?
Jungwon: copy

Jungwon was just finishing up at office space. Sullyoon still haven't came back to school. It's been a couple days since he's seen her. She finally decided to go back home after convincing her to make up with her parents.
