CHILDHOOD FRIENDS

CHAPTER 11

NIKI'S POV

Niki's last class just ended. He was one of the last people who came out of the class room. He took out his phone out of his pocket. He was expecting Eunchae to text him right about now, but to his surprise she hasn't.

Niki wasn't trying to overthink what happened last night. He knew he was risking their friendship with what he said to her at the party. Eunchae was Niki's first friend since elementary school, there was a point where he stopped seeing her as a friend and more of a crush.

He finally gave in and texted her first despite the awkwardness.

Niki: Hey
Niki: I still have ur car
Eunchae: oh yeah! Meet me at the front?
Niki: okay

Niki rubbed the back of his neck and put his phone back in his pocket and walked to the front of the school.

EUNCHAE'S POV

Eunchae kept replying what happened last night in her head. Does she have feelings for Niki? She walked to the front of the school to meet him. She wanted to snap out of it before she sees him.

She finally gets to the front of the school at the same time Niki did. They both made eye contact. She was frozen where she was. He walked towards her.

"I should've gave you this this morning." Niki said handing her the keys.

"No, you're good. I came with my dad this morning." She responded back.

An awkward silence grew in between them.

Niki scratched the back of his head. "Alright, I'll see you later then." He said before starting to walk backwards.

"Niki, we're okay right?" Eunchae almost hesitated to say.

Niki stops at his spot. "Yeah." He flashed her a faint smile. "We're good." He said before turning around to walk the opposite way.

Eunchae stayed where she stood. She heard the words come out of his mouth but it didn't feel right.

SUNGHOON'S POV

Sunghoon finally finished practicing for the day. Today was his longer day since he had some free period to stay longer in the rink. Sunghoon takes his practices very seriously. It was also time for him to recharge and be alone with his thoughts for a little.

He walked to his car and went home for the day. His phone suddenly rings. It was Jake.

"Yoooo, are you going to the dinner?" Jake greeted him with a question.

"At Wonyoung's? Yeah she told me about it." Sunghoon answered getting out of his car taking his bag with him.

"Okay well Jay's bailing tonight. He said he got sum going on." Jake said.

"So it's just the two of us then?" Sunghoon asked. He went in his house and put his stuff down before going upstairs to his bedroom.

"I was thinking of flaking tonight too. It's probably gonna be boring." Jake said.

"I already promised Wonyoung." Sunghoon explained.

"And? She won't be mad if I miss. It's you she wants there." Jake argued.

"Bro c'mon." Sunghoon started. He laid down in his bed.

"No, be Forreal. Either you turn her down or keep leading her on. You can't be this oblivious man." Jake went on.

"Wonyoung's is our friend." Sunghoon said

"Yeah, okay. So you're fine seeing her with someone else?" Jake questioned.
