CHAPTER 35

-JUNGWON'S DORM-

JUNGWON'S POV

Jungwon opens the door with his key card and lets Sullyoon enter first. She then sits down on his bed. She was a little comfortable in his dorms since she's been there multiple times.

He grabs water for the both of them from the mini fridge. He hands it to her. She took the bottle from him but didn't open it. He took a quick sip of water before thinking of what to say.

"Look Sullyoon. Im not gonna lie. This is my first friends with benefits situation, and it's really hard not to have some attachment to you."

Sullyoon looked at him with a look. She felt the same way but remained quiet since she didn't have the right to like him. She chuckled to herself. "You were my first." She said looking at the water bottle.

Jungwon was surprised to hear that from her since she was the one to approach him first. He sits down next to her. "I don't think I can keep seeing you." He said taking a piece of her hair and tucking it behind her ear. "I'm gonna end up liking you even more and heart broken when I can't be with you."

Sullyoon felt her heart ache a little. She was holding her tears back, not just sadness but frustration. She had a day and it's not even over yet. She still had to face her family and she's probably in the biggest trouble she's ever been in for the first time in her life. She wished her circumstances were different.

Jungwon pulls his hand back. Silence filled the room. Sullyoon sniffled and stood up from the bed. She decided to leave since her hands were tied. Jungwon's eye followed her until her closed the door.

"Fuck." He said plopping down on the bed.

HAEWON'S POV

Haewon was washing dishes at her apartment. Jake had asked her to study since she offered last time they saw each other. She decided to invite him since she was staying home all day and she just found it more convenient since she didn't have transportation.

Her door bell rang, she was expecting him to come around this time. She grabbed a kitchen towel to wipe her hands before getting the door.
She get to the door and opens it and sees Jake on the other side.

"Yo." He said with a smile while his backpack hung on his shoulder.

"Hey, come in." Haewon stepped aside to let him in.

"Thanks for studying with me. Sorry it's a bit late. Coach had us stay for a little after practice." Jake said as he walked in through the door.

"No you're okay. I usually stay up pretty late in the weekends." She said closing the door. "Usually doing homework." She added. "Please make yourself at home... even though it's not as lush as you're used to but just make yourself comfy." She rambled.

Jake laughs. "Your place is cozy, I like it." Jake walked over to her couch and sets his bag down. He sat down and started taking out his books and laptop.

Haewon grabbed her laptop from her kitchen counter and turned it on. She walked over to couch and sat a feet away from Jake. "Did you eat yet?" She asked with her eyes still fixated on the laptop.

Jake looks over to her. "Ah, not yet. I can order something for delivery?" He offered.

"No you don't have to do that, I can cook something." She said turning down his offer.

"I don't want to take ur time up. Let's just study. I'll order." He said as he took out his phone to order food.

JAKE'S POV

Jake made a good point so she decided to let it be. The both have the same online class so it made sense they study together. This worked out for Jake since he wanted to spend some time getting to know her. He found himself nervous sometimes when he's around Haewon which made him even more confused. He's flirted with a lot of girls before but why is it so hard to talk to her. He put his phone down and went back to his online textbook.

"Ah, this is the one I need help with." He scootched closer to her on purpose.

Haewon looks over at his computer leaning closer his way. "Oh that one is easy." She points to on the screen.

She was a little close that Jake can smell her. She smelled sweet like strawberries. He shook it off. 'Fuckin creep' he told himself as he had an internal crisis.

"Did you get that?" Haewon said snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Huh? ..um yeah!" Jake was quick to answer not knowing what he agreed to.

Haewon looks at his face to see if he's serious but something else catches her attention. She looks close into his eyes. "Oh, you have an eyelash close to your eye. Here let me get it." She said as she got closer to him trying to delicately take the eyelash out.

Jake felt his chest get tighter. He can almost feel his heart jump out of chest. Her face was inches away from his. He held his breath.

"There!" She said looking at the eyelash in between her fingers. "Make a wish." She said holding her hand in front of him.

"Hah.." he breathed out trying to play it off. He quickly shuts his eyes and them blows.

The doorbell rang just in time with their food. Both of them looked towards the door. "Foods here." Jake said and quickly got up to answer the door. He grabs the food and tipped before setting the food on the counter. He wasn't even hungry anymore. He just kept telling himself to cool it.

"I'll grab us some plates." She stood up and helped him prepare.

They spent the rest of the night studying and doing homework while eating, or at least Jake tried to. He enjoyed Haewon company. He stole glances at her from time to time. He really did think she was pretty. After they finished Jake packed his stuff and was ready to leave. Haewon walked him to the door.

"Thanks for studying with me. I really needed it since it's getting hectic with my soccer schedule." He said as he scratched the back of his head.

"No problem. Glad I can help. I owe you that at least for dinner last time... and today." She said. "Now stop, I don't want to owe you anymore favors." She said half joking.

"Nah, it's straight. You don't owe me anything." He laughed at her joke. "Can we study again next week?" He asked anticipating her answer.

"Yeah, sure. If I'm free." She said straight forward.

"Okay, cool. I'll see you." He said flashing her a smile before leaving.

Haewon waved goodbye and closed the door. She rested her back on the door. She thought about Jake and how cute he was when he smiled just now. She quickly realized what she was thinking and shook it off. She blushed and tried to forget about it.

Jake drove home and parked his car to enter through his garage. He sees his mom in the living room.

"Hey honey." His mom greeted him from the sofa.

Jake looks at his mom. "Mom, what are the signs of a heart attack?"
