CHAPTER 32
JAKEXHAEWON
JAKE'S POV
It was a peaceful Sunday. Jake was at his backyard playing fetch with his dog. He was honestly just coming down with all the parties from the weekend so it was nice to just chill at home for a change.
His dog brought the ball back to him. The good boy dropped it as Jake picked it up before throwing it again. He randomly thought about Haewon and how pretty she was last night. He caught himself as this was super weird. Jake was a heartbreaker, he was never the one to crush on girls. Maybe this was the universe's way of getting back at him. He shook it off and ran with his dog.
"Jake!" Him mom called him over by the patio.
He turned around and jogged to where his mom was. "Dinner is almost ready. I just forgot something at the store, can you make a quick run and grab some whip cream?" His mom asked.
"Yeeee." He said playfully throwing the ball up in the air before going inside.
Jake grabbed his keys and went to the garage for the grocery store. His brother was over for dinner tonight with his wife. So his mom wanted to make a nice dinner for the whole family.
He drove to the nearest grocery store. He quickly made his way to the refrigerated section to look what what he needed. It seems like the universe really did have a sense of humor since Haewon was shopping in the same aisle.
"What?" Jake blinked as he looked at her from the side.
Haewon turned and noticed him. "Oh, hey." She said raising her hand to greet him.
"Ah, hi." Jake returned the gesture. He walks up to her. "Grocery shopping?" He asked and thought 'why did I say that? Fucking Idiot!' To himself.
Haewon raises and eyebrow and smiles. "What else do I do at the grocery store?" She teased sarcastically.
"Right." Jake chuckles nervously. He reached for the fridge door and grabbed a can of whip cream. "I only came here for this." He said as he pointed to it.
"Whip cream?" Haewon asked.
"Yeeee." He said in reply.
"Yeah I'm pretty much done too." Haewon said to him.
Jake perked up since he remembered she didn't have a car. "Do you need a ride home?" He offered.
"I don't want to be an inconvenience." Haewon tried to politely decline.
"Not at all. I'm already out anyway." Jake insisted.
"Well if it's not that much trouble, I'll take you up on it." She accepted.
The two made their way to the check out lanes and paid for their stuff. Jake helped her carry her groceries out to his car. It started to sprinkle rain outside. Both quickly made it inside the car when Jake's phone started to ring.
"Yellow?" Jake picked up the phone.
"Jake, are you close? I need the the whip soon." His mom asked.
"Okay, mom I just need-" Jake started.
"No, like I need it now. Your brother is almost here." She asked him to come straight home.
Jake sighed. "Alright, alright. Bye." He said before hanging up. He turns to Haewon at his passenger seat. "Is it okay if we make a quick stop at my house?" He asked her.
"Yeah that's fine. You're doing me a favor!" She said with no complaint.
"Sorry, it'll be quick." Jake said as her put his car in drive and started to make his way home.
