HOMECOMING GAME

CHAPTER 24

NIKI'S POV

The week flew by and Homecoming game finally came. The teams has been practicing practice hard all week and the homecoming game was the start of the kick off for this season. This was Niki's first actual game with the team. He was very stoked.

Niki got up early to go do some quick cardio at the gym. He got his stuff ready before heading out. Niki feels his phone vibrate in his pocket. It was Eunchae that texted him.

*Text*
Eunchae: heyyy. Meet me in campus?
Niki: yeah what's up?
Eunchae: I have something for u
Niki: okay I'll be there in 10

Niki put his phone back in his pocket before walking. It only took a few minutes  from his dorm, but since the campus was huge it took a bit. He gets to where Eunchae location, she was standing looking around for him.

"Eunchae!" He said waving to her trying to catch her attention.

Eunchae turns her head as he called her. She smiled and ran to him. "Hey!"

"Hey, you're you're here early." Niki said to her.

"Yeah I wanted to catch you before practice or sumthing." She explained.

"What's up?" He asked about she meant in the text.

"Hold your hand out!" She said excitedly.

Niki does what she says without questioning it. He held out his hand out. Eunchae took something from her pocket and put it around his wrist. She had given him a bracelet.

"It's a good luck charm." She said as she looked up to see his expression.

Niki smiled obviously liking the gift she had given him. "Thanks Eunchae, I'll wear it every game." He said as he looked at the bracelet.

"You're gonna kill your fist game!" She said pumping him up.

"I hope so." Niki replied.

THE NIGHT OF THE GAME

EUNCHAE'S POV

The HU stadium quickly started feeling up as people was filled with school spirit. They were up against their school's rival so it was really a game everyone wanted to see.

Eunchae had came to the game with Jungwon since they had class a couple hours ago together. The ended up hanging out all day before the game.

"Dangggg its packed." Jungwon said as he saw more people coming.

"Usually is for homecoming game." Eunchae said as she munched on a bag of gummy worms.

"Is that Heeseung and Haewon?" Jungwon saw the two trying to look for a seat.

"Oh yeah. Call them over." Eunchae replied.

Jungwon stands up to get their attention. "Heeseung! Haewon!" The two look over as jungwon signals them to come over."

They both went up to where they were sitting. All went to the same highschool, so they were all somewhat pretty close. They all were there to support Niki for his first game.

The game started shortly after the crowd settled to their seats. The headmaster said a quick few words to boost the crowd and the team went to the field to start practicing their passes. You hear the crowd cheers at the real game starts.

Eunchae was heavily focused on the game, especially Niki. She would clap when he had the ball and would get mad if the other team stole it. She has been watching Niki play since elementary school, so seeing him play for a university made her so proud of him.

The game was nearing its end and the score was now 2-2. People were on the edge of their seat since the game was so close. Time was running out and both team was in desperate need of a goal. Jake was trying to steal the ball, he was surrounded by the opposing team when he finally got the ball. Jake sees Niki as the both lock eyes for a quick second. Jake makes the pass to Niki.

Niki didn't waste time since there was only a few seconds left. He ran the ball and made one final kick resulting in a goal.

Eunchae stood up and cheered as the crowd went wild. They have won the game with the new comer. Everyone rushed Niki and lifted his up. They had won their first game of their season.

The whole team cheered as the game was over. They cheered on the field as people rushed over to the team. They kept going as they got out of the field.

Eunchae turned to the three. "Let's go down to congratulate Niki!" She asked them.

"Yeah, let's go." Haewon said as she stood up to go with her.

The whole group went down from their seats and started to make their way down to see Niki.

Niki was ecstatic, it didn't feel real to him. Everything was like a movie. He just shot winning goal. He finally got a break from his team hyping him up, when he felt someone suddenly hug him. The girl pulls away and congratulates him.

"Congratulations!" Leeseo says to Niki.

Niki was surprised but saw it was someone he knew. "Thanks." He said smiling back at her.

Eunchae saw this whole interaction and felt some type of way. This was the same girl he was with at the gym. Could he be talking to someone right now. She felt like it would be a bit awkward if she went up to him now.

Jungwon interrupts her thoughts. "Yoooo, there's an after party at Yeonjun's. We passed him and he just told me and Heeseung." He said excitedly.

Eunchae and Haewon turned to Jungwon as he told them this information.

"Aren't you gonna see Niki?" Haewon turned back to Eunchae.

"Ahh, I'll just meet him at the party. He looks busy." Eunchae said trying to be cool about it.

Jake then comes over to their group.

"Ayye congrats man, it was a really good game." Heeseung said to Jake dapping him up.

"Yeah, thanks for coming." He said was he wiped his sweat with a towel. "Are y'all coming to the party?" He asked.

"Hell yeah, wouldn't miss it." Jungwon replied.

Jake looks over to Haewon who was a little spaced out. People around them trying to leave the stadium and people congratulating the team.

"Are you coming?" Jake asked Haewon.

Haewon blinked as she came back to the conversation. "Ah, no. I have some studying to do at the library tonight." She plainly replied.

"Oh dang." Jake said in disappointment. He knew it was hard trying to change her mind but didn't want to be pushy about it. The whole school was coming to celebrate except for her.

"Okay, I guess I'll see the rest of you guys there." Jake said before walking away to his teammates.

"C'mon let's go, I'll drive." Heeseung said pricing the two kiddos a ride.
