Niki went to the gym after studying at the library. He felt bad for not talking to Eunchae and Jungwon for a little bit. Niki wanted to distance himself a little bit from Eunchae. After the party, it made him realize that she sees him as a brother. He wanted her to see him as more than that. He also didn't want to make her more uncomfortable than she already was, at least he thought she was.
Niki got to the front lobby part of the sports center. He was done for the day and was headed back to the dorms. Coincidentally Leeseo walks out from one of the room. They both make eye contact.
She chuckles. "I'm seeing you everywhere." Leeseo said to break and awkwardness.
"I see that." Niki responded. "Are you training?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm on the track team." Leeseo explained. "What about you?"
Niki nods. "That's cool. I'm actually practicing for the homecoming game for soccer." He responded.
"Oh wow! That's coming up. Are you excited?" She exclaimed.
"I'm more nervous if anything." Niki said.
"I'm sure you're really good. Are you about to head out too?" She asked.
"Yeah, I'm done for the day." Niki said as the both walked out together.
EUNCHAE'S POV
Eunchae was finally done for today. She thought about the slight awkwardness that happened this morning. She wanted to resolve everything and just pretend nothing happened. So she made her way to the sports center to surprise Niki and maybe go hang out. She missed him, also she had his location, and he had hers.
Eunchae went to go grab her car from the parking garage and drive to the front of the gym. She checked his location, he was still in there. She patiently waited til he got out.
The double doors finally open and she looks up to see Niki walk out. She also sees him walk out with the same girl from this morning. She was confused and was trying not to overthink again. She then thinks about what Niki said at the party and about him getting a girlfriend.
She felt her chest tighten. This thought felt unpleasant to her. Without thinking she get out of the car and tries to wave to Niki to let him know she there. Niki waves back to Eunchae and tells Leeseo bye. He runs up to Eunchae.
"Hey, why are you here?" Niki asked Eunchae.
"I was gonna ask you to hang out, I checked your location." Eunchae explained to him.
"What do you want to do?" He asked trying to not be awkward.
"Did you want to come over for dinner? My parents have been asking where you've been." She said twiddling her fingers.
Niki thought for a second if he had any homework he had to do. "Yeah, I would just need to bring my homework." He said to her.
"Okay, we can study together!" Eunchae said with a little excitement.
HONG RESIDENCE

They both got into her car and drove to the dorms real quick to grab his homework. They then headed to the Hong residence. Niki has been over multiple times so he's very familiar with her parents. It was Eunchae's parents that urged him to attend HU since he was really good at sports. Both got out of the car and entered the house. They were met with her mom.
"Hey, how are you Niki?" Eunchae's mom greeted him.
"I'm doing good." Niki smiled at her.
"We're going to study upstairs, will dinner be ready soon?" Eunchae asked her mom.
"Yeah in an hour or two, we're still waiting for your father. I'll call you guys when it's ready okay?" Her mom replied.
"Sounds good!" Eunchae said before going upstairs with Niki following after.

Eunchae was a little happy seeing Niki and everything going back to normal. She opens the door to her room and sets her things down on the floor. Niki has been in her room multiple times but after revealing his feelings for her, he felt a bit weird.
"I'm thinking about joining the academic team." Eunchae spoke first.
"Oh really, I thought you said you were gonna do it." Niki asked.
"Yeah but I'm in campus almost everyday so why not." She said just repeating what Jungwon had said to her.
"You'll probably do good if you do." He said smiling at her.
"Yeah and I can hang out with you guys everyday too." She said with a big grin on her face.
"There's a gonna be a homecoming dance/party coming up, are you gonna go?" He said changing the subject.
"Nah, I'm not really into that. I'll go for your game though." She said as she took out her book from her bag.
Niki's smile slowly disappeared from his face. He felt like he was taking a step further from any progress he might've made. He didn't want to be friend zoned again.
"Look, Eunchae... I might not be able to hang out as much as before. I really have to focus on training this semester." He said to her.
Eunchae looked at him. She was disappointed to hear that come from him. It felt like he was pulling away again. "I mean we can still find time to hang out."
Niki shook his head. "I really want to be good, I just wanted you to understand." He said. He just needed a reasonable excuse to distance himself from him a little bit.
"Oh okay." She said trying to hide the fact she was sad about it. It felt different since they always spent their time together. But now that they're in college, everything is changing.
She thought again of the girl with him at the gym. She felt a little jealous, was he going to see her more often because she's probably a student athlete too?
"Sorry." Niki felt the need to apologize since he can tell that she was bothered by this. He's known her long enough to know when she's upset.
"No! I understand, I'll just bother Jungwon when you're not around." She said laughing forcefully.
Suddenly they hear a knock on the door "Dinner is ready you guys." Her mom called.
