CHAPTER 30

JAY'S POV

Jay was sitting at the table with Sullyoon. Both of them looked bored as ever with each other's company. Both of their parents insisted that they go together for the homecoming dance. Jay didn't particularly enjoy school dances/events except for the games.

Sullyoon swished her drink around in her wine glass. She didn't want to be there as much as Jay does. This night has been such a drag for her.

"I'm gonna go grab more drinks." Jay said as he stood up and grabbed his glass.

As he walked away, he pulled out his phone to text Hanni. He assumed that she might've been mad at him since he ignored her during the party. He had already double texted her but he thought she might've needed some space.

*text*
Jay: Yo
Jay: Hanni, u upset?

His messages were left in seen for hours now. He was a bit worried so he decided to call her. To his surprise, she picked up the phone.

"What is it, Jay?" Hanni said through the line with an exhausted tone.

"Hey, don't be upset." He said right away. "Well, you do have the right to be upset but, can I please explain?" He begged. "Can I see you later?"

"I don't know, it's late. I still have homework." Hanni sad obviously trying to distance herself.

"Please." He said in a low voice.

Hanni stayed quite on the line for a second. "I'll give you 5 minutes." She said to him.

"That's all I need." Jay said. "I'll see you later."

"Okay, bye." Hanni said before Hanging up.

SULLYOON'S POV

Sullyoon paid no attention to him. She looked around the room as everyone was slow dancing. She knew Jungwon was in attendance since he is a student athlete. He also told her last night. She was lowkey scanning the room for him.

It didn't take long for her to spot him. He was with other people in the team. She was observing him and how he acted around his friends. It kinda felt weird seeing him be an actual person.

She placed an elbow on the table and rested her chin on her palm. Sullyoon kept looking at Jungwon. She thought of how good he looked all cleaned up. She was staring so hard she could burn a hole through his head. At that moment, Jungwon turns his head and makes eye contact with her, making her jump a little. She was caught staring at him. She quickly turned her head a different way to play it cool.

Jungwon told his friends that he would be right back and made his way to where Sullyoon was sitting. Sullyoon straightens her back as she watched him come near.

"I didn't think you like these events." Jungwon said to her as he reached the table.

Sullyoon looks at him from her seat. "I don't. I was forced to be here." She responded.

Jungwon pulled a seat across from her. He looks at her before speaking. "You look really good." He complimented her.

Sullyoon was wearing a tight straight royal blue shimmery dress. She was undeniably one of the prettiest girl on campus. But hearing this come from Jungwon made her blush.

"Yeah, you don't look bad either." She tried playing it off again.

Jungwon just chuckles and thinks how cute she is even is she's being stubborn. At this moment Jay walks back to the table and sees Jungwon at the table.

"Yo, what's up man." Jay saiad to jungwon dapping him up. "You left the party early yesterday.

Jungwon looks up at Jay and recognized meeting him yesterday. "Yeah, I had something come up." He said. He was a little curious why he walked up here.

"Oh, um, this is my fiancé by the way. Sullyoon, this is Jungwon." Jay introduced the two of them.

The two were just dumbfounded for a second. What a coincidence this has been for the both of them.

"Nice to meet you." Sullyoon said dryly.

Jungwon looks at her then at Jay. He was still a bit surprised from the new information. He was literally just hanging out this man at the party only to sleep with his fiancé that same night.

"You too." He said back to Sullyoon. "I have to get back to my team. It was really nice seeing you, man." Jungwon said to Jay.

"Yeah, same. Catch you later." Jay said to Jungwon before he walked away.

Sullyoon kept her gaze on Jungwon as he walked back to his table. It's not like this information was new to him, she just didn't expect them to know each other.

Jay looks at his Rolex. "This shit is kinda dead. Do you wanna dip?" He asked Sullyoon.

"Please." Sullyoon responded before standing up from her seat.

"Ok, let's go." Jay said as the both left the banquet Hall.

HANNI'S POV

Hanni was doing her homework when Jay texted that he was on his way to see her. She was still kind of upset on how Jay ignored her at the party. She felt like she was over reacting a bit since they're not even together. She didn't expect to like him already.

She shook it off and decided that she didn't want this situationship at all. Nothing about Jay was certain. So she had no right to feel this way, and she didn't want to keep feeling this way.

Half an hour passed and she receives a text from Jay saying he's here. She gets up from her bed and makes her way to her door. She opens her door to see Jay about to knock on the door.

"Hey." Jay said.

"Hi." She said back. "Come in." She offered so he wasn't just awkwardly standing outside her dorm room. Luckily Minji Had gone to the Homecoming dance so she had the dorm all to herself.

"I'm sorry." Jay started. "I just didn't want people to get the wrong idea of you." He said in defense.

"What?" She said in confusion.

"Word gets around fast. Just like how you find out i had a fiancé, if they saw you with me, these legacies are gonna have a field day." He said trying to explain.

She looked at Jay and furrowed her eyebrows. "Look Jay, we should just stop this." She said.

Jay had a stern look on his face. "Stop what?" He tried to act dumb.

"I don't want to be your little secret. So let's just stop it when it early." She said with a hint of sadness on her tone.

"Hanni, please." He tried to reason with her. "My engagement is uno-"

"Thanks for the past two weeks." She said cutting him off. She looked down on the ground. "I think you should leave." She said trying to hold back any emotion.

Hanni refused to make eye contact with him. He kept quiet. He realized how serious she was. He looks up and just nods. "Alright." He said as he turned around and left.

Hanni slowly looked up and saw him walk away. She walks over to her door to close it. She knew already that nothing was gonna come out of this. She sat on her floor with her back against the door. She hugged her knees as she hurried herself in her thoughts.
