CHAPTER 54
JAKES POV
It's was the next day and today was the most anticipated game of the year. He went down stairs to see his parents in the living room. His mom stands up and walks over to him.
"You're gonna do great my baby boy." He said fixing his hair and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Thanks, I'll see y'all at the game?" He said looking at his dad at the living room.
"Wouldn't miss it." His dad responded looking away for a second from his papers to look at Jake.
Jake smiles at both of them before leaving. He went into the garage and drove his car to campus. He's going a little early to warm up with his team mates, and of course see Haewon. Haewon was already in campus since it was a big game day.
He gets to campus and parks his car before heading to office space. As he was walking to the building. He sees Haewon with Matthew in the hallway. They awfully looked a bit close. Jake stops walking to see what was happening.
Jake sees Matthew reach for hands as they both smiled at each other. Jake felt his blood get warm. He didn't like it one bit.
Matthew waves at Haewon goodbye as he walked the other direction. Jake finally decided to walk over to Haewon.
Haewon sees Jake walk over to her. "Oh hey Jake." She said.
Jake just looked at her in acknowledgment and bends over to give her a kiss. Haewon quickly dodges and looks around.
Jake was caught off guard and slowly backs away. "Haewon, there's no one here." He said in a low serious tone.
"Jake, you kno-" Haewon started before getting cut off.
"No, I don't." He said stating at her. "I'm trying to understand, but it's hard. Haewon." He explained.
Haewon was speechless. She felt more guilt than before. "Jake, we can't let people know. I... I have a reputation." She poorly explained.
Jake kept a stern face and nodded. "No, it's because of MY reputation, I'll gladly make a fool out of myself for you. Haewon, I want to show you off. I don't want to hide anymore!" He further said.
"I don't want you to make a fool out of me!" Haewon exclaimed. "I don't think I'm cut out for this, Jake. I don't think this is going to work!" She blew up.
Jake was taken a back. "So you really don't think this will work? Tell me it's over then." He said in the heat of the moment. He wanted to hear her say it.
Haewon tried to hide that she was hurt. There was a small moment of silence before she spoke. "It's over... go Jake." She said looking at the floor.
Jake felt his heart break slowly. He bit his lip before turning around and leaving.
How could this happen? They were having such a good morning the other day. He kept walking hoping Haewon would stop him but she never did.
-HOME GAME-
The game was now about to start and everyone was pumped and ready to beat the opponent. Everyone in the locker room was getting hyped except for Jake. He couldn't get himself to get into it after what happened.
Yeonjun comes up to him and put his arm on his shoulder shaking him. "Yooooo you fucking ready!?" He asked.
Jake puts on a fake smile and laughed. "Hell yea!"
Niki was on his phone checking his messages. He's already tried texting Eunchae multiple times since 2 days ago but she hasn't been replying to him. As he was about to turn his phone off, he's gets message from her.
